Leaf {open starter}
"Oh, you've got a little something in your hair," Ella said softly, her eyes focusing on a spot just behind their ear. Before they could even react, her hand was already reaching up, her fingers gently but deftly plucking a small, green leaf from their locks. "There we go," she added with a reassuring smile, holding up the errant foliage for them to see before discreetly discarding it.

Rose had been working at the nature reserve for a couple of weeks now, while making her way to do some pond maintenance she picks up trash and making sure there’s no hazards on the path. Routine maintenance should be an easy morning, clean the drains, check for snail eggs, test the water quality then I can go to lunch. Finding several clutches of invasive Apple snail eggs, spending almost an hour meticulously smashing the eggs. In her focus she failed to notice the nest of geese to her right until the adult geese started trying to bite and chase her.
Leaving caution to the wind she runs trying to get anyone’s attention so they can move, only the words her brain could muster were “goose stampede watch out”. Shouting to try and get your attention before she bumps into you. “Run, you have to run”

"Thank you, enjoy the movie," Shock half muttered in a monotone. She handed the ticket stub to the last person in the line for the latest dumb overbudgeted PG13 comedy, and was then left alone at her podium by the lobby. Carthay Cinemas was pretty small, so all the screens were busy and focused on the new blockbuster. Shock had felt a twinge of pride, though, at learning that the only horror movie being shown there was doing quite well for itself. She would have to find some friend to drag along to it sometime soon.
Employees weren't meant to use their phones during work hours, but it wasn't as if Shock was any close to start caring. Soon she'd have her lunchbreak; her craving for a cigarette, however, could not wait the fifteen minutes there were still left for it.
She put the little sign on the podium, got out the backdoor to the narrow alley behind the cinema building, and pulled out a lighter and a cigarette pack from her jeans' back pocket. Shock was just trying to light it when she saw someone nearby. She tilted her head and shot them a look, unsure of what their deal was... Though she could guess.
"... Are you trying to sneak in?" she asked them with a little chuckle. "If you are, man, your skills could use some fine-tuning."

"Yes, I understand, but I can't talk about that right now... I have to go... okay, bye." Honeymaren hung up the phone, and sighed, putting it aside.
"Oh, I'm sorry— what were you saying?"

It was hot in the garage. Punishingly so. Outside it was not too bad. He assumed it might be a nice spring day. The garage was a different story. Several cars lay within, in various Frankenstein-esque states as Arturo worked on repairing then. He was set to start Law School soon, and he needed all the mechanic jobs he could get. He was quiet, but incredible with a set of tools and few hours alone, so asking for overtime had never been much of a problem.
Arturo heard a voice call out for something. At least he thought he did, it was hard to hear over the music Arturo had playing. He pushed himself out from under the car he had been working on, and sat up from the roller board when he saw a person was in fact, at the wide open front of the garage.
"What can I do for ya?"

FIRST MEETING {OPEN STARTER}
Fa Mulan, a name whispered in the hushed tones of Redwood as the "peasant queen"—a former one, that is—found a rare moment of solace. She was seated on a weathered park bench, the afternoon sun dappling through the leaves, lost in the rhythmic pulse of music through her earbuds. Redwood was still new to her, a town she was slowly, deliberately learning to navigate. But the gym, oh, the gym was no stranger. It had quickly become her second home, a place where she spent most of her days teaching the ancient ways of kung fu, just as her father had once taught her. It was a calling, a deep-seated purpose that resonated with her very soul, even if her mother had vehemently opposed her choice, lamenting the shattered traditions of their family.
So engrossed was she in the driving beat of her music, the world outside her a blurred backdrop, that she didn't hear the soft footsteps approaching, didn't sense the presence drawing near. When a shadow fell over her, she finally pulled out an earbud, blinking in surprise. "Oh," she asked politely, her voice gentle, "did you call for me?"

It's been an hour and so far... only two signatures. That was rather disappointing, she had to admit. And with such a cause as well. While it wasn't something that she herself could personally relate to, Jasmine knew that she needed to support and do everything she could to ensure that this cause received the recognition it deserved. So even if she has to wander around the entire town for hours on end, even if it means not taking any breaks, she would do so.
"Hello! May I borrow a moment of your time, please?" The Cave of Wonders had been rather busy that day, she noticed, which was why she decided to take her campaign to the front of the antique store. The semi-heiress smiled warmly before she continued. "I was wondering if you'd be interested in signing this petition for the local orphanage? We're trying to gain a thousand signatures to convince city hall to invest in a new, better program and home to better help our town's orphans and foster kids."

Kronk couldn't have been more excited, truly. He'd had a lot of career changes over the course of his life, he could admit that, but he was never ashamed of any of them. He had a lot of gifts and hobbies, and that was always a good thing. At least, he liked to think so. He still had the squirrel scouts to think of, but he was getting help in that regard, and now, well, he was over the moon to be managing Evangeline's, in Ray's absence. The man trusted him with a huge responsibility, and he was not about to take that for granted.
As the new manager, he wanted to make sure he got to know his customers, and therefore wanted to introduce himself as the restaurant began to fill up. "Welcome to Evangeline's," he greeted, with a warm smile. "First time visiting or have we been here before?"

Coming out of the ophthalmologist (now wasn't that a fun word for Scrabble night) Sully blinked as the midday light briefly blinded him. He wasn't really excited about needing reading glasses now, but it could be worse. He could need everyday glasses. It could be a hindrance for his work. No, he was lucky, in a certain way. Pity that his job benefits didn't include paying at least partly for his brand-new eyewear, though.
Now, the doctor had said he had to wear the glasses for a little while to get his eyes used to it. Sully knew he meant 'at home', but still he left them on as he stepped out of the building, making sure they didn't squeeze his temples too much, and that they didn't slip off the bridge of his nose. Everything seemed okay so far.
PIcking out the case from his jacket pocket, he remembered he still had a pack of peanuts in there. He popped a few into his mouth, and headed to leave the doctor's doorway, when he accidentally bumped into someone.
"Oh --sorry. Didn't see you there," he said, mouth still full of peanuts. Immediately, he gave them an awkward smile. "Well, isn't that ironic."

Danya sat in her office looking at an empty computer screen, she was super bored since not much had happened all day. She looked at the apple that she had brought to eat in one of her breaks in a quick motion she threw it away in a trash can as it started to look a bit old. She hated things that were either dirty or started to get bad.
The day went by slowly till the end of her shift had arrived. She moved to her car. She drove to the Pizza Planet to eat some fast food there.
She sat and slowly ate her pizza, she liked to be alone but today she felt lonely, she would for sure like it if someone would sit with her to talk, so she decided to wave the first person that entered the restaurant. "Hello! We might be strangers but I could use some company."

Among her many talents, Chelsea was a great lover of games. She loved a good challenge, after all, and while she wasn't one for sports (she had good coordination and acceptable speed, but was not exactly resilient or strong --she was perfectly aware of it) she was quite proud of her rational, quick-thinking mind.
Particularly, in her opinion, she was a very good poker player. Ever since she first visited Snake Eyes, she found out she was better than she assumed, and not as rusty as she expected. Her second favorite game, though, was chess. She used to be quite good at it in high school, and almost joined the chess club, though in the end preferred to spend her free time doing... Other things.
"Well, hello there. Interested in a friendly match?" she asked someone who had slowed their pace as they passed by the chess table at the park. "Though it doesn't need to be friendly, of course."

Guinevere remained perfectly still. Her expression did not betray a single thought or emotion. The only thing that might reveal some sort of reaction to her environment was the almost imperceptible speed in which her chest fell and rose, as if slightly agitated. The bouncy pop music blaring out of the speakers at that beauty salon was absolutely unbearable, but she did a great job pretending she did not mind it.
But it was turning hard to stay steely. Someone turned the music even louder. Her fingers twitched. She took a brief deep breath.
"Would it be too much to ask, to lower the music somewhat?" she finally asked herself in a firm but quiet voice. She was not in the mood to argue with some beautician. Her patience was growing thin, however.

May was a quiet month at the shop. The only holiday of note was Cinco de Mayo, which came and went quite fast, and Mother's Day... Sally didn't particularly enjoy Mother's Day. She could put on a happy face for it, of course, and smile and be as nice as she always was to customers. But privately, she always had that sense of discomfort and anxiety. As she arranged a bunch of paper flowers on the counter, she wondered if Ella ever had these same feelings towards the holiday.
The little bell by the door ringed its familiar tune. Sally looked up, shook those thoughts out of her mind, and smiled. "Hello, welcome to Jack's Attic. Can I help you?"

Oz gave a pace around the room while he spoke of deals, of all the things he had promised people and how he carried through on all of them. When he reached his desk, he sat down on the comfortable, expensive chair, and leaned back.
"I'm something of a miracle worker," Oz said, "For a price, of course. So! What can Oz the great and powerful do for you? Big or small, I'll help with all."

Arista sat at the coffee table at the cafe. She had an iced matcha and lavender drink next to an expensive laptop decked out in stickers.
"So like, if you think I could like, help with anything like, let me know yeah? I have the recording studio, my stream, all of my social media posts and stuff, I can like, totally help you get some reach online. Or some free stuff, probably. I get a lot of that, so much of it I don't even know what to do with, what types of things do you like? I probably have plenty!"

Minnie was sitting on a park bench idly swiping through the dating apps on her phone. Weeks of ghosting, first dates that went no where, of getting excited about someone just for them to unmatch before even saying hello. Eventually she sighed and put her phone away.
She turned to the person sitting next to her on the bench.
"Have you ever been in love? How did it happen? Like how did you meet that person?"
