bisca deserves a whole arc and i’ll die on this hill

erza just goes to get cake. like literally she walks into this shady little mountain bar because she wants cake. and what does she find? someone using fairy tail’s name to scam people. and not just anyone—bisca, before she ever joined the guild.

and it’s so wild because bisca isn’t evil. she’s not a villain. she’s just desperate. she came from another country with nothing, no home, no support, no safety net. she was starving. and the only thing that kept her going was hearing about this guild called fairy tail. powerful women, freedom, strength, family—it was a dream. so she takes the name moulin rouge and pretends she’s part of it, because that’s all she has.

then erza shows up. and bisca is terrified. like shaking in her boots terrified. because erza is everything she pretended to be—strong, proud, righteous. and erza calls her out, rightfully so, because using fairy tail’s name for shady jobs is a bad look on the guild. but erza doesn’t humiliate her. she doesn’t hurt her. she offers her a place.

erza tells bisca: if you want to be part of fairy tail, then come join fairy tail.

LIKE… DO YOU UNDERSTAND HOW POWERFUL THAT IS?? erza could’ve destroyed her. but instead she reaches out her hand. and bisca, who’s been alone for so long, finally finds someone who sees her.

their relationship is so underrated. bisca literally changes her whole life after that. she joins the guild. she finds her people. she builds a future. and it all starts with erza, with that moment in that dingy bar in the middle of nowhere. the way bisca looks at her… with awe, with fear, with hope.

and we just never talk about it. ever.

I'm not sure if this is a unpopular opinion or whatever but deadass the best episodes of Fairy Tail are the in between slice of life intermission episodes.

I'm talking the episode where the main cast switched bodies. It gave Levy some attention which made what happened to her in the following arc more impactful.

The episode where Juvia accidentally curses the guild as they all deem each other their rivals (Erza squaring up against a pillar and Gray throwing hands with a flying cat)

The episode where Wendy goes on her first mission and we see Freed be the biggest guy failure of all time.

The episode where Macao and Wakaba go through a midlife crisis and turn into monsters while Erza loses her mind and decides to be a superhero for a day.

Those kind of episodes really make me appreciate the cast and fleshes them out more. Even at point giving certain characters dedicated episodes since they have a moment in the following arc. It's absolutely criminal that I've heard people skip them because they're not canon. You're seriously missing out if you do.

tried to write the angstiest chapter of the abyss fic while sick and then got upset that the mc was going through horrible stuff alone and suffering... like that's the point😭

I tried getting on the famous Penelope and Odysseus ballad BUT I’m still trapped in the Underwolrd Saga, hopefully I can get both done at some point but this one I actually got around to testing.

I must emphasise this isn’t finished, I threw Gray in earlier than he’s meant to appear cause it would just look cooler in my lil promo. Erza and Wendy do have appearances and I’m having so much fun. All of these frames need to be re-drawn but this is the rough.

I hate posting unfinished stuff and feel the need to defend my corner I’m sorry enjoy the animatic.

Natsu is in some freaky fortune spell and some entity taking the form of Cana is revealing his future. This is an AU if we got more END content. Imagine END is the final villain kinda ending.

team natsu vs one sleeping erza (they lose)

it’s early team natsu era. one tent. one bedroll too few. they’re all stacked like badly packed luggage in this tiny canvas triangle and lucy’s about to lose it. happy’s drooling on her arm. gray kicked off his blanket again. natsu’s curled up and radiating heat like a busted radiator and breathing directly into her neck. she can’t sleep.

but she would suffer through it—she loves these idiots, after all—if it weren’t for erza.

erza, who lies perfectly still for hours… until about 3am hits.

then she starts twitching. mumbling.

then comes the foot. it smacks natsu directly in the stomach.

lucy: “is she… awake?”

natsu, wheezing: “nope.”

“for the guild…” erza mutters. and suddenly she’s in full-on combat mode—mid-dream, clearly protecting them from some imaginary threat. only, her sleep-fighting form? flawless. horrifying. lucy barely dodges a flailing arm. gray gets smacked square in the jaw. happy is launched across the tent.

they try shaking her awake. doesn’t work. she’s re-equipping in her sleep now. lucy can’t tell if she should be impressed or terrified. (both. it’s both.)

gray mumbles something about “never camping again” before going limp. natsu’s already knocked out from the first kick. it’s just lucy now. lucy versus sleeping erza. the final boss.

“erza please,” she whispers. “it’s a tent. there’s nothing to protect us from. go back to sleep.”

“for the guild,” erza breathes, smiling. she clutches her pillow like a sword. she calms.

lucy stares at the ceiling, wide awake, and mutters: “i’m sleeping in the cart next time.”

redesigning star dresses part 1!

keep this in mind i love the og stardresses! i just wanted to challenge myself and i’m an inspiring fashion designer!!! my goal was to create dresses that reflect the spirits and u could easily match them up.

these were my initial sketches, i wanted every dress/outfit to have a different colour and silhouette to make them more recognisable.

aries ~

- pink was the obvious choice for a colour. I didn’t want to use any major black like in the og design because aries design is so light and bright!

- i really think the og stardress hair is lacking. A fun fluffy 80s hair adds to the whole sheep aesthetic and creates a different silhouette to other designs.

- the 80s hair also inspired a more 80s look with fluffy legwarmers and big hoop earrings.

- i also wanted to bring in those pink pompoms on the side of aries dress so i made them star shaped and put them in lucy’s hair

taurus ~

- why put her in a bikini if she’s a cowboy??? this haunts me everyday.

- I couldn’t put her in mainly black and white cos that’s virgo i comprised and landed on a brown.

- for inspiration it was pretty obvious to go with a cowboys and the wild west! i always disliked the one leg pants her og design has so i modified it to a cut out.

- her og design was a mix of the aquarius and scorpio one and it always didn’t stand out to me, so i think by exaggerating the cowboy aesthetic it stands out much more.

gemini ~

- her og design is actually one my favs. so i really only made minor changes

- the colours stood out against other dresses and were easily identified as gemini. the dual colour symmetrical dress is a great way to reflect the double spirit.

- Gemini is a pretty symbol spirit so to reflect them i used circular shapes and organic lines. i changed the head piece mainly because i struggled drawing it but i realised it made the design too top heavy anyways.

- i extended the dress width and length mainly for silhouette reasons (she wears so many skin tight dresses) as well as to give a nod to the dresses the alternate geminis wear.

cancer ~

- my issue with cancer star dress isn’t the dress itself. I actually love the dress in the manga. it’s the colour. WHY IS GREEN?!?

- if it weren’t for the symbol i wouldn’t be able to match this dress with cancers design, so it had to change.

- other than that there’s no major differences, the ribbon tie is meant to resemble scissors, i love the claw shape hair ties in the og design so i brought them back and i brought the stripes in cancers top to her bow.

leo ~

- i was inspired by beauty and the beast, in the movie the beast kinda looks like lion.

- i swapped the yellow and black in the og design since it has a pretty similar colour story to virgos dress. The og kinda gets lost next to leo since the black doesn’t have variation and leo is in a deep black too.

- i wanted to make her hair bigger like a lions mane and curled around her face.

yes yes I totally agree! especially after the super emotional moments of tartaros, alvarez really felt like a flop... and iirc the revelation of the dragon slayers coming from the past happens during tartaros AND acnologia shows up!! it would've been a much better and more grounded time to fight acno than the timey wimey stuff they did in alvarez

I was having a conversation about this with a friend and I'm fully realizing why I have so many issues with the Alverez arc.

They introduce so many new relavations, character arcs, and worldbuilding. But they're all introduced in the final arc. So they don't have much time to flesh out more.

It's why characters like Irene I don't care for because she feels like a character that should've been introduced much earlier. Her being Erza's biological mother adds nothing to Erza's character and feels more throwaway fact to add drama imo.

Plus, the relevation of the dragon slayers all being childhood friends and time traveled *was* something that was foreshadowed, twice in fact. But the way its revealed is so rushed and out of nowhere by introducing a character we know nothing about and makes it seem like they're more important than it seems.

Alvarez does have stuff I appreciate looking back, but man, you can clearly tell the burnout was in full display.

Outfit swap

I love that the first episode introduces a thing that lets you change the colour of clothes. Since that means its entirely plausible that, not only did Rogue raid Sting's closet after killing him, he also changed the colour of his clothes.
