Well hello, Tumblr world.

It has been a long, long time. I’m back on here after thinking about all of the beautiful social media/internet connections I’ve made in my life, particularly those from my early climbing career that have influenced and continue to influence me. One of those influences tragically passed in a climbing accident recently, and I just felt the need to come back here. I hope you’re all doing well. Do me a favor today - get out there, chase your dreams, embrace and love yourself, and love each other.

#tbt to Bishop just about two years ago. I haven't been back to the East Side during the 2015/16 season, but hopefully I can find some time for a trip before it gets too hot. I'm finally back to a mostly regular gym schedule, and I'm feeling pretty strong for the first time since September. hopefully I can stay injury-free for the remainder of the year! this is me topping out "Suspended in Silence", one of my favorite sends. #tbt to a fun summer's day up at Big Chief near North Lake Tahoe with @urs.moosmuller and friends. I spent the overwhelming majority of my climbing that summer on a rope, but since then, I can probably count the number of times I've clipped bolts on two hands. #tbt to my last real outdoor bouldering trip, almost one year ago in Bishop! it's been a busy and science-focused 11 months, but I'm hoping to find some balance and get back into the vertical world this year. this is me getting up high on a climb that's become my nemesis since moving to California, "Fly Boy" (from the sit). I've tried it almost every trip for over two years now, and I just haven't been able to stick the dyno. it will go some day! I guess I just need to train and try harder. shoutout to @skratchlabs and @evolvusa for all of their support. psyched to be back with both amazing brands for 2016! Photo Credit: @angusvb

2015 was quite a year! from climbing in Bishop to the CCS competition season with @calclimbing to #PBR2015 to all the crazy academic and professional and personal stuff going on in my life...it feels like this year was 5 years rolled into one. There have been many ups, many downs, and everything in between. What a whirlwind. I'm really looking forward to seeing what 2016 has in store for me - I get the feeling it's going to be just as crazy and hectic and fun! A HUGE thank you to all my friends and family and supporters who have stuck by me through everything. Let's make 2016 the best year yet!

waiting to watch Star Wars The Force Awakens for a second time, and I'm reminded of the time I tried to use the force in Yosemite Valley. I haven't been climbing much lately, but I can feel the psyche returning! definitely will need to make a trip back to the Valley sometime in the future, especially to put some work into this problem, the Valley classic "The Force". I'm really bummed to not be heading to Bishop this week for Thanksgiving. It'll be the first time since moving to California that I won't be spending the holiday on the East Side. My finger still isn't feeling great, and the psyche has been at a record low lately. I've been feeling mentally and physically exhausted, and I could use these few days for some self-care. But hopefully my finger will heal up, and I can make it out to Bishop for some winter trips! This is @theworldis on "Grindrite" (V3) in the Happys from last year's Thanksgiving trip.

@thewonderyearsband just played the most amazing set I've ever heard/seen live. I've never had more fun or been more blown away at a show. I sang every word to every song, I moshed more than I ever had before, and I have no voice and crazy ringing in my ears. This band has meant more to me than any other over the past 5 years or so, and I am beyond thrilled to have finally seen them live. (at The Regency Ballroom)

well I'm here up in the PNW! #PBR2015 is in the morning, and I'm super psyched. it's been fun getting back into a routine with climbing over the past 3 months or so. here's one more #dyno video - hopefully they set some jumps for the comp tomorrow! thanks to the rad people at @skratchlabs and @evolvusa for supporting me and helping me chase the vertical dream! after watching @reelrock yesterday, I was reminded of the night I watched @dawoods89 send "The Process" out in Bishop. one of the most inspiring things I've ever witnessed in person. so here's a #throwbackthursday to that night back in January. go check out this year's Reel Rock for a more in depth look at this incredible boulder problem!
