Question! Did you just see the heyyy on this or my whole message? :O cause I wrote a whole thing and its showing up on my computer but not my phone app! Now I'm scared no one's seeing my full replies 😥 @parkjiminsjagiya

Heeeeey long time no see~ I checked out your newest story and I love it already! Gosh I think I’ve really missed your writing :’D I can’t even begin to tell you how much I laughed at some parts - the main girl is awesome. I love her personality. This seems to be a very interesting and different story and I really like that! I feel like you were inspired by A Silent Voice? Could that be? There’s a lot that reminds me of it hehe. I’m super excited to see how the story develops!!!
Heyyy <3 Long time no see!! Thanks for checking out my new story! haha sorry there’s been no update in a long while. Ooo I have read/watched A Silent Voice actually haha but it wasn’t the complete inspiration for this fic. I could definitely see similar elements though ~ I loved that story! Now I wanna go re-read/rewatch A Silent Voice haha I think after that, I tried to re-learn Sign Language. But in any case, this was actually inspired by one of the patients I was treating a long time ago ^_^

Color in the World of Gray (Jungkook x Reader): Part 3
You became the color in his world of gray, while he became the light in your constant darkness. But will that be enough to discover where you’re both supposed to be? And will light and color be enough to spark a little change?
Summary: What fiery passion Jungkook had upon joining the world of adults swiftly dulled as he became swept into the routine of the working life. The world was gray, filled with monotonous motions and half-empty words, exchanged out of necessity and feigned courtesy. But as he settled into the colorless pattern of his present and what he assumed would also most likely be his future– a bland, meaningless drawling world–, one fateful day had him stumbling into you. And he quickly learned that although you were blind, you envisioned a world far more beautiful than people with sight could ever see.
Jungkook x Reader (ft. some of the BTS members) Fluff, Angst, Romance Warning: This fic will contain a lot of information and does surround itself with someone who is visually-impaired, and other disabilities will be introduced as well. If this topic makes you uncomfortable, then please do not continue.
Parts: 1 | 2 | 3
A/N: Hi fam <3 long time no see! I hope you’re all doing well ~ sorry for the unexpected hiatus. But here is (finally) the next chapter!
Part 3: The Springing of Green
To say Jungkook felt different would be an understatement. He felt like a new person, confident, assured, happier. He smiled more, actually greeted people-- which got him plenty of questionable and surprised looks initially-- and spoke up during meetings more than usual. He and Jimin continued their lunch escapades, now venturing to new restaurants and cuisines for fun. The two of you talked frequently on the phone, and all of it became an exciting routine he looked forward to.
People were taking notice, and Jungkook, unfortunately, had many more confessions than before. But this time, he responded differently.
"Why?" He would question softly.
And most of the time, that stumped the person that had confessed their feelings for him. To Jungkook, it shouldn't have been a hard question, and yet, it was getting more and more disappointing to see that it was. All of these confessions ended up with generic answers that were pulled out without much thought, nothing genuine, nothing particular to him.
"Well what answer are you looking for?" Jimin questioned as he chewed on his fry mindlessly.
"I don't know. Something that's specific to me, you know? Like something that shows me they know me...rather than the surface level. Shouldn't you try to at least get to know a person before suddenly confessing your feelings? Like how do you have feelings for a stranger?" Jungkook complained.
"Well I mean I think some strangers are hott and attractive. I guess I can say I like certain aspects of the stranger physically or from what I observe at that moment in time. I don't think you should downplay the feelings they feel for you though, Jungkook. You're an attractive, unique guy even on the surface." Jimin explained. "But I do agree that they jumped the gun by confessing before you knew them and vice versa. It's probably all those dramas filling people's heads with that."
"I guess." Jungkook hummed.
"I am proud of you for being more honest nowadays instead of adapting to others and just going under the radar." Jimin smiled warmly. "It's no wonder people are taking notice and falling in love with you."
Jungkook chuckled. "Well it's nice knowing people have my back regardless now."
Jimin grinned.
After a few minutes of comfortable silence as they focused on their meals, Jimin spoke up once again.
"Will we ever get to meet this Y/N that you and Hoseok keep talking about?"
Jungkook blushed. "I mean, yeah. Sure."
Jimin's eyes squinted skeptically. "Are you trying to keep her to yourself?"
"N-no!" Jungkook flustered. "I just never asked if it was okay to set things up or anything."
"Hmm...alright." Jimin backed off with a smirk. "Where are you taking her this weekend?"
"She mentioned she really wanted to go to the beach, so I was thinking of surprising her by taking a trip there."
"She thinks it's a picnic in the park?" Jimin asked.
"Yeah." Jungkook beamed.
"Last week where'd you take her?"
"Just around the city. She never really explored too much." Jungkook shrugged.
"Did you mention you haven't either?" Jimin snorted.
Jungkook sighed. "She eventually figured it out cause we ended up getting lost."
Jimin cracked up. "But Namjoon gave you quite specific maps!"
"Those maps were confusing as fuck and you know it." Jungkook grumbled.
"You should've just gone with the GPS while walking idea Tae had."
"You all were NO help." Jungkook rolled his eyes.
Jimin giggled. "I did offer to chaperone."
"That was the WORST ONE."
"Well you're practically dating, you know." Jimin teased.
Jungkook lost grip of his drink for a brief second and began flustering, "W-we are not!"
Jimin rolled his eyes. "What're we in grade school?"
"You're the one picking on me." Jungkook pouted.
"Cute." Jimin grinned. "Well, try not to get lost getting to the beach. I'm sure the seagulls will show you the way."
"Ha.Ha." Jungkook shook his head.
"'I want to make her dream come true of traveling!'" Jimin clutched his chest and imitated a very drunk and emotional Jungkook.
He burrowed his head into his arms, regretting ever letting himself get so emotionally drunk in front the guys. "Never again."
"Unlikely." Jimin cracked up as he clinked their drinks together, proud of himself for taking down the usually strong-willed and witty younger.
"Whoa, hold your horses Jeon Jungkook." You chuckled as he nearly dragged you out of your place. "I didn't know you were this excited to go to a park."
"Well I parked illegally in front so we need to go." he grinned.
"Wait -- you drive??! We're driving?" You gasped. "I don't know if I trust you behind a wheel after seeing your sense of direction while walking..."
Jungkook rolled his eyes. "Why wouldn't I drive?"
"I mean, can you blame me? We've only ever met up with you walking."
"It's the city. Driving's usually a hassle."
"Any particular reason why we're driving to a walk-able park today then?" You inquired.
Jungkook was particularly relieved you couldn't see him sweating at your suspicion.
"Um I brought a lot of stuff for the picnic. It'd be ridiculous dragging them around by hand."
You nodded, convinced. "That's true." You surrendered your hands to his grip. "Lead the way Kooks."
He grinned widely and led you to the passenger side of his car, carefully placing his hand above your head as you maneuvered yourself in. Hurriedly, he hopped into the driver's seat and found you feeling for the seat belt. Blushing, he took a deep breath in and reached over to pull it across your body. He felt you flinch slightly at his sudden proximity, and he was hoping you didn't feel the heat of embarrassment emanating from his skin. Once it clicked, he quickly disengaged.
"Um thanks." You mumbled meekly.
"Yeah." He tried to brush it off coolly as he put his own seat belt on. "Ready to go?"
Your lips curled up. "Let's go on an adventure!"
"We're not lost are we?" You chimed after realizing it had been nearly an hour in the car with no sign of stopping.
"Nope." Jungkook chuckled.
"Are we going to a park in a faraway place?" You asked.
"Maybee." He sang cheekily.
"Where are you kidnapping me too, sir?" You teased.
"You'll see when we get there." Jungkook replied lightly.
"Well technically...." You laughed.
"You know what I meant!" he blushed.
You giggled, always enjoying how flustered he got. "I know. I'm pulling your leg."
"Just relax. We're almost there."
"I guess I have no choice." You sighed playfully.
"Y/N." Jungkook shook you lightly as you had fallen asleep during the journey.
Groggily, you sat up. "Are we here?"
"Yeah. Come on." Jungkook grabbed your arm to guide you out of the car carefully.
As soon as you were fully outside, you paused, hearing it.
"No." You gasped in shock.
Jungkook grinned widely at your reaction. "Oh yes."
"You didn't."
"I did."
"Oh my gosh." You covered your mouth excitedly. "We're at a beach!"
"Surprise ~" Jungkook sang as he made his way to his trunk to get some things.
"Let me help carry the basket." You offered.
Jungkook hesitated. "Are you sure?"
"I'm positive." You replied firmly.
He had planned on making two trips since he didn't want you to carry anything, but he knew you'd be offended if he didn't let you take it.
Defeated, he sighed. "Okay, here. Take the mat."
You pouted, knowing he was giving you the lightest thing, but you also knew it wasn't his style to make you struggle with something heavy. He was too much of a considerate gentleman for that. "Alright, but know that I can handle more than this next time."
Jungkook laughed. "I'll keep it in mind."
He maneuvered you to a mostly empty spot on the beach, and with your help and his instruction, you both set up the mat and the food he had brought.
"Would it be weird if you know...I take off my shoes and socks?" You questioned shyly.
"Go ahead." Jungkook smiled fondly. "Feel the sand."
You beamed and did just that.
"Soft."
Jungkook chuckled as he watched you being completely entranced by the texture and feeling of what he had always taken for granted.
"What color is it?"
"Mm...like white-brown?" he hummed.
"Beige?"
"Uh sure." Jungkook responded. "You can say sand is sort of beige. In some beaches it's white, others black, others dark brown, some pink."
"Pink??" Your eyes widened. "Really?"
"Yeah. Jin said he went somewhere with pink sand... overseas of course."
"That's awesome." You breathed.
"Do you wanna eat first? Or do you wanna try taking a dip in the water?" Jungkook asked.
"I'd like to explore first." You grinned. "I don't think I can sit still and eat right now."
Jungkook smiled and stood up, "Then explore it is."
"I''m not wearing a bathing suit though." You frowned.
Jungkook blushed. "Who said we needed a bathing suit to get in the water?"
"Are you going in normal clothes?"
"Yep. The sun's out so we'll dry pretty easily anyway."
"Okay." You reached out for him. "Take me to the water."
Jungkook held your hand, always enjoying the feeling of trust that goes along with it. You, who was always independent, allowing yourself to be guided to who knows where. People always interchange faith with the phrase "blind trust", and he gets it completely now.
You closed your eyes and listened intently to the sound of the waves crashing in real time. Jungkook knew that you had only ever heard it through the pre-set audio on your phone or through video. It was one of the reasons why you wanted to go so badly. For years, it had been your calming grace and you wanted to hear for yourself if it sounded the same in reality.
"What do you think? Same as your lullaby?"
He watched the corners of your lips turn up contently, "Better than my lullaby."
His heart welled up with satisfaction. Even if everything else in the day turned horribly, he would consider this trip a success.
"Ready for the water?"
He felt you grip his hand tighter. "Will it knock me over?"
"I got you." He squeezed your grip to reassure you.
You nodded.
"Alright. Take a step forward and we'll wait for the wave to crash. It's probably gonna be a bit cold."
You put on your determined face, one he has seen too often when you were engulfed in your next masterpiece, and took a step forward. The water gently glided across your ankles, causing chills from its coolness, which elicited a little squeal from you.
Jungkook laughed, "I warned you."
"It's cooolldd." You shivered.
"You know the best way to get over it?"
"Pee in the water?" You replied.
"Gross." Jungkook snorted.
"Then how?"
Jungkook smirked as he bent down and scooped up water in his hand.
"Jeon Jungkook." You warned, since he was tugging you slightly with him when he crouched.
"You gotta get the rest of your body wet!" He splashed you playfully. "Taste salt water!"
Your mouth was agape. "You really just water slapped me!"
"Whatcha gonna do about it?" Jungkook teased.
Feeling the wave on your feet, you proceeded to splash up water towards him too. The fight lasted until you were both soaked. Both of you had gone in deeper without knowing, searching for more ammunition.
"Come here Y/N. You're too far." Jungkook chuckled as he waded towards you. "You might not be able to touch the ground if you get carried away more."
"Whoa." The water rose a little, lifting you off your feet for a brief moment. "That was cool."
Jungkook glanced at the next few waves. The tide was getting a little rougher.
"Maybe we should head back to our mat?" he suggested.
"I wanna swim a bit more...please?" You pleaded.
He complied, "Alright. But stay close to me."
You reached out looking for him until your hand landed on his firm chest. Both of you blushed and retracted slightly.
"Sorry." You mumbled.
"It's okay."
He swam behind you so he got a good view of the waves forming.
"I wanna float up again like that last one." You requested. "How do I do it?"
His lips curled up. "You'll have to time the jump before the wave crashes."
"Help me." You grinned.
"Okay. I'll be your eyes." Jungkook gently guided your waist in front of him, the contact making both your hearts quiver. "When I say jump, you jump, okay?"
You nodded, unable to find your voice, too focused on his hand lightly on your side.
"Ready. 1, 2, 3...jump!"
You both pushed up as the wave passed, causing you to float weightlessly inside the water until it crushed and leveled out again.
"It's like I'm flying!" You gushed excitedly.
Jungkook knew this was his favorite part of taking you somewhere new. Your child-like wonder and excitement were refreshing. He felt like he was truly seeing the world for the first time through your eyes. But then again, maybe he merely was just existing in the environment rather than really experiencing and immersing himself in it. Much like his view of relationships and people.
"Here comes another one." He gripped your waist since the wave came sooner than he expected, pushing you both back. Hurriedly, he lifted you up as he held his breath underwater until it subsided. "Sorry. I wasn't paying attention."
"Are you okay?" You laughed as your hands found his face to try to wipe the water instinctively.
Jungkook's face warmed. "Y-yeah. I'm okay."
You smiled.
He gasped, seeing a large wave about to crash. "Hold your breath now." He instructed as he pulled you into his chest and embraced you tightly.
Hearing the urgency of his voice, you did as he said and gripped at his shirt nervously. The wave crashed on top of you both, causing you both to tumble around aimlessly. The water pressure rushed into your ears and nose, but you were securely glued to Jungkook. You both washed back up to the shore, coughing.
"You okay?" Jungkook breathed as he lay on the sand with you on his chest.
"I think so?" You relaxed as your breathing evened out.
"I think it's a good time to have some lunch." Jungkook chuckled.
"I concur." You grinned.
"Come on. Before another wave washes up here." Jungkook patted your hip, making you realize you were comfily on top of him.
Hurriedly, you climbed off, blushing. Jungkook mindlessly grabbed your hand, leading you back to your spot.
"I brought us towels and sun block." he proudly stated.
"Wow. I thought you were prepared with the umbrella, but you went above and beyond." You grinned, impressed, as you wrapped the towel around yourself.
"A tour guide is always prepared for any situation." He commented.
You smiled. "I wish my tour guide had brought my easel so I could try to paint the ocean."
"I did say for any situation." he grinned.
"What?" You blinked.
"I figured you would want to paint it, but your easel at home isn't really transportable so..." he unzipped a bag. "I bought one that we could take with us."
You were stunned. "Are you serious? What about paint?"
"Well...I tried to find paint at the stores, only to realize none of them had Braille on it for the colors so I ordered them special online." Jungkook took out another bag. "And your palette of course."
You bit your lip, extremely touched. Leaning forward, you reached for Jungkook's face and planted a kiss on his cheek, causing him to stop his rambling.
"Thank you...so much."
Jungkook couldn't help the butterflies.
"I...uh... no problem." He stuttered then tried to defer the situation before his heart exploded. "Let's eat first? Then I'll set it up for you."
You beamed. "Sounds great."
Both of you ate in silence. You were just taking in the feeling of the breeze in your hair, the sand between your toes, the heat and warmth of the sun on your skin, the sound of the gentle waves and the laughter and chatter of the people enjoying the day. But Jungkook was trying to swat away Jimin's voice in his mind, taunting him about you two dating and him liking you like that, all while trying to calm himself down and just brush off your cheek kiss as a token of gratitude and nothing more.
After lunch, he set up the easel for you as you hummed happily while setting up your paints.
"Will you describe it for me?" You whispered as you settled in front of the easel.
"Hm?"
"Describe what you see for me." You smiled warmly.
"How?"
"Its color, shape, motion, anything... I wanna know how it looks like through your eyes."
Jungkook was never really good with explanations, and Namjoon was far superior with words and descriptions, but he knew you needed him to help. He swallowed thickly.
"I'm pretty bad at this but I'll try."
"Think of it as charades game of sorts. You're trying to give me hints about what kind of picture to draw." You smiled.
It was a lot harder than he thought. He didn't realize how much information vision itself provided. He was able to see the fluidity of the ocean, but how could he explain it to somebody who has never seen fluidity? Transparency? Clarity? Depth? Despite his awkward analogies and terrible attempts at describing everything, you never laughed or said a word, just simply nodded, processed it, and your hand got to work. Jungkook was curious to see how it would turn out, but you would never let him peek until your painting was complete, so he busied himself with making a sandcastle nearby.
"Kooks." You called out.
"Done?" He perked up.
"Mhm. Come see if it's accurate." You shyly requested.
Jungkook hurried over excitedly, and he wasn't disappointed.
It was an accurate depiction, but with your touch that made it ten times better than what he was seeing. The layer of color perfectly captured the water, as if it was in motion within the painting. He could feel the sand's texture with your expert strokes. It was more breathtaking than the reality before him.
"What?" Your voice brought him back from his awe.
He realized you couldn't see his face so his silence was making you anxious.
"It's really good, Y/N." he firmly complimented. "Like it's everything here and more."
You smiled shyly, clearly pleased.
In the weeks following, the two of you spent almost all of your spare time together. So much so that Jungkook had his own pile of clothes and his own toothbrush at your apartment. Neither of you said anything about it, too afraid to confront what it meant and potentially ruining the happiness that came with it. It had started off as an accident. You two ended up talking all night and both fell asleep, and then it happened more frequently, until the point where it was an expectation rather than a mistake.
"So...let me get this straight. You're LIVING together, basically, but neither of you have confessed???" Jimin gawked.
"We're NOT living together." Jungkook bashfully retorted.
"Um, I'm pretty sure having your clothes and toothbrush at her place, then commuting to work together MOST days of the week is considered living together." Jimin snorted. "Right, Hoseok?"
Hoseok shook his head as he waited on other tables. "Don't include me in your teasing, Jimin."
"No fun." Jimin shook his head. "So? What do you want to do? Have everything stay as is?"
Jungkook bit his lip. "I mean it's not bad..."
"Okay, so let me put this into perspective." Jimin clasped his hands together seriously. "If you don't express your intentions clearly, she could just assume your friends forever and stifle any feelings she has for you. Then she'll find another guy and--"
"Okay stop. I get it." Jungkook cut him off, already feeling unsettled from the scenario.
Jimin smirked victoriously. "I'm just saying. Snatch her up before someone else does. Contrary to belief, you make your own timing for love."
"But what if it ruins what we have now?" Jungkook frowned.
"But what if it becomes more than what either of you could've imagined?" Jimin smiled gently.
Jungkook nodded.
"Well," Jimin grinned. "tell me how these sleepovers have been like."
Jungkook chuckled as he began to reminisce.
"Um what is this room?" Jungkook was flabbergasted when you showed him your theater.
"It's a 4D theater. I can't see movies but I can hear and experience them." You giggled. "Want to try?"
"I'll make the popcorn!" He beamed and rushed to your kitchen.
"You know where it is?" You called out as you found your seat.
"I know!"
Jungkook had been there so frequently, he knew your place better than his own. The popcorn was in the pantry, on the second row, on the right. Your microwave didn't have high watts, so you always had to add 30-60 more seconds to what's instructed.
"Want a drink?" he asked loudly.
"Hot choco please!"
He smiled as he pulled out the Keurig cup and your favorite weighted mug. Then he wandered to your fridge where you stocked up on his milk cartons.
For maximum experience, you both agreed to a horror movie. And being the adrenaline junkie he is, Jungkook found a 4D movie experience was just his style. His heart raced ten times more when he felt some wind tickling by his neck at the same time that entity was about to strike behind a character. It was also entertaining hearing you scream and ask him if you were correct about what was happening during the silences. Jungkook knew you didn't expect an answer, usually because the scene would give it to you before he could. So he simply cackled.
"What's your fear?" You had asked him after the movie. "Since it's not ghosts or anything like that."
Jungkook laughed, "Mmm...it's kinda lame...but honestly, disappointing the people I care about or seeing other people I love hurt."
There was a silence.
"Lame, right?" He blushed.
"No. I think that's a great fear." You smiled warmly. "Very Jungkook."
He glanced at you surprised.
"Everyone's fear usually has something to do with themselves. You're one of a kind, Jungkook." You complimented.
"Well it is kinda about me..."
"Hm...mine is being dependent on people." You confessed.
"That's your fear?"
You nodded, "Especially with my...situation. To have my freedom and independence taken from me because I was born this way...it terrifies me. Like I don't have control."
Jungkook frowned. "I hope that things progress in the world where you won't have to give that up."
"Thank you, Jungkook." You smiled.
You both fell asleep on the 4D chairs talking that night.
Jimin exhaled a long drawn-out sigh. Hoseok, who had ended his shift, had joined them mid-way, and slapped Jimin's shoulder.
"Let him keep going!"
The next morning, he had woken up to the sizzling of a pan and a wondrous smell filling your place. He perked up curiously. The pair of you had always ordered in, but today, he realized you were cooking. He wandered to the kitchen.
"Mornin'." You greeted even before he made it into the room.
"Morning." He sat down on the counter, and looked at the odd looking cooking utensils you were using.
"They're adapted for the visually impaired." You sensed his curiosity. "So we don't hurt ourselves when cutting things or touch things that are too hot."
He watched as you maneuvered the kitchen expertly in awe. You were obviously using your hands more to feel things out, but if he didn't know you, he would've thought you were seeing everything normally.
"So cool." He blurted out.
You blushed at his direct compliment.
"Th-there's nothing cool about cooking..." You mumbled shyly.
Jungkook chuckled. "Well hurry up, I'm starving."
"Be patient and grateful I'm feeding you." You bantered back.
And by far, it was one of the best breakfasts Jungkook has had. And he knew it wasn't exactly because of the food.
"I hate to agree with Jimin...but honestly, Jungkook, you need to think about whether you're okay with being this way with her forever." Hoseok stated. "It'll get confusing down the road if neither of you address it. The lines are kinda blurry whether you're just friends or more. I don't want either of you to get hurt, you know?"
Jungkook nodded. "I know."
"Just give it some good thought." Hoseok patted his hand. "I love both of you, and I think you're a wonderful match. But I know there are a lot of factors to relationships more than chemistry."
"Thanks. I'll definitely think about it." Jungkook smiled.
Jimin glanced at his watch. "Well, you better hurry or you'll make her wait. It's time to pick her up already."
Jungkook grabbed Jimin's arm to double check he wasn't teasing him again.
"Oh shoot!" he flustered. "Okay, I'll talk to you guys later!"
He grabbed his jacket and scrambled outside.
"You're a little shit." Hoseok laughed. "I saw you adjusting your watch to pull that off."
"Hey, he's 5 minutes early. He'll thank me that he'll be on time for once." Jimin giggled.
Hoseok rolled his eyes.
You stepped out of the cafe you frequented after a lunch date with a friend, with a ridiculous smile on your face. Jungkook had offered to pick you up so you two could walk home together, and although it wasn't anything new anymore, it still excited you whenever he did.
"Excuse me."
You looked at the direction of the voice, addressing you.
"Is this this cafe?"
You heard the rustle of paper in front of you, assuming they're showing you the name.
"I'm sorry. I'm blind. Can you read out the name for me and I'll let you know? I frequent this cafe a lot."
Of course, came the awkward interaction afterwards, the flustering and the apology, etc. But eventually, you were able to in fact, confirm that this was what the cafe he was looking for.
Jungkook peered skeptically from afar as he saw a man approach you. His stomach churned a little until he saw him pulling out a piece of paper to show you. Relief washed over him, realizing it was just someone who was lost. After the man entered the cafe, he decided to try to sneak up on you, but unsuccessfully so.
"Jungkook?" You turned in his direction, causing him to freeze, in surprise. Sniffing the air a bit, you grinned. "It is. You thought you could sneak up on me?"
"H-how?" he stammered.
"Your smell." You laughed victoriously. "You smell like your soap, mixed with sweet light cologne, and laundry detergent."
"I don't know whether to be impressed or creeped out." Jungkook blushed.
"I also know..." You reached out to touch his face, tracing his features.
Your touch caused his body to stiffen in panic mode and his heart to ram into his chest like crazy.
"That you're handsome." You whispered playfully.
His eyes widened. "I-uh-I..."
You retracted your hands and laughed, "I'm kidding. I heard those girls nearby call you hott before I realized it was you."
Jungkook shook his head. "You're like a superhero with super senses."
You giggled. "Let's go?"
"Are you going to fly me home?"
"Ha.Ha." You rolled your eyes.
"So? What's this thing you really wanted to show me?"
"Well first," Jungkook led you to the couch as he dropped off his stuff. "I was doing some thinking about what it was I was really passionate about, regardless of people's expectations of me."
"And?"
"I want to do music." Jungkook smiled.
"Music?"
"Yeah, I love to sing. I used to do it a lot when I was younger, and I mean I still sing when I'm alone. But when I was out at karaoke with my hyungs, I realized I really loved it. I recorded some songs to let you listen, and I want you to tell me what you think."
You nodded.
"And I also realized I wanted to create an app or videogame. But I think that's just my inner gamer coming out." he chuckled.
"Let me take a listen." You urged, knowing he was stalling out of embarrassment.
He opened up his laptop and pressed play, scurrying to hide in a room until it was done. You listened intently and whenever he peeked out, he was worried because your expression hadn't changed.
"Jungkook." You called out after the playlist ended.
"Yes...?" He shyly returned.
You placed your hands on his cheeks. "Go for it."
"What?"
"You have a gift. I want to hear you more. I want everyone to hear you." You encouraged. "I need that playlist too. You better send that to me."
Jungkook blushed. "You really think so?"
"I know so."
Jungkook's lips curled up and he grabbed your hands. "Then...can I also make a request?"
"Hm?"
"Okay, don't laugh. But I did research on successful people who were blind."
"What?"
"Marla Runyan - First Blind Athlete to compete in the Olympics and then became a world-class runner, winning without being given an advantage. She won three consecutive 5000 meter National Championships." He reported.
"Jungkook - what--"
"Let me finish."
You quieted down.
"Derek Rabelo - a blind surfer. Mark Anthony Riccobono, a blind NASCAR driver. Pete Eckert, a blind photographer. Christopher Downy - a blind architect." He squeezed your hand. "They all didn't limit themselves and did what they wanted to do, despite and in spite of being visually impaired."
"I know of them well, but Jungkook...why?"
"I want you to be on there." He firmly stated.
"What?"
"I want your name to be up there." He exhaled. "I want you to show yourself to your fans and the world, and be proud of everything you've accomplished. Stop hiding behind your paintings and believing people won't understand you. Maybe they all won't. But some people will. You can make people understand. You can make them see you're much more than what they think you lack."
Tears trickled down your cheek at his genuine request and his heart felt encouragement. Of course he was right. You didn't want to expose yourself because you knew you'd be labeled. Your artwork could be boiled down to fame all because it was done by someone who was blind, not because of the work you put in or the look of the art. People might not try to understand the meaning and message as they have been because they're distracted by the painter. But it also was largely because you didn't want to put yourself in the position of being ridiculed, of not being understood, as usual.
"Even if the world doesn't understand...I do." Jungkook held your hands tightly as he wiped your tears. "Just as you said you want to hear my singing more, that you want everyone to hear my gift; I want the world to see the amazing person I've come to know."
You cried and nodded-- fear, love, anxiety, happiness, gratefulness, and nerves spilling out all at once.
As he watched you cry, his heart welled up, and flashes of what Jimin and Hoseok had told him before as well as the jealousy he felt when that man had talked to you all passed through his mind. And he knew. He really wouldn't be satisfied as is. He wanted to move forward with you. He wanted a future more than this. So he inhaled and mustered his courage to utter something he had never done in his life.
"Y/N, be my date for my company gathering this weekend."

Excuse me, hi! Super Big fan, ^^” just wanted to say that my best friend and I both agree that Out of the Egg is the best story ever written. The transitions, story arc, setting, characters, angst, fluff; it was all absolutely perfect. It made us both get dog tags with our names on them. We wear them all the time. Kinda like a BFF necklace or something. Wanted you to know this. :))))) you truly are amazing. Keep doing what you do! I look forward to your JK story’s next chapter!
HI ! Omg that is one of the greatest things I’ve heard! Thank you for sharing it with me <3 I love love love that dog tag idea! Thanks so much for reading and enjoying my works, especially Out of the Egg ^_^ I’ll be posting the next chapter very soon hehe thanks for being so patient!
