Also, it is to be noted, that I have nothing but the biggest respect for all the people working in the real waste disposal sites and sewage treatment plants. Your doing great jobs and are nothing like our elected shitheads.

I am also still flashed about the high attendance this year...here some impressions...

Well, today was our local CSD event, to which I went with my bestie.

I was so moved that in such a relatively small town we had about 1.7k attendants. I know this doesn't seem that much, but this is pretty much double the number we had last year :)

And one sentence of the speeches really stuck in my head (and I'm paraphrasing/translating here):

"Our chancellor said that the bundestag is not allowed to raise pride flags because the bundestag is not a circus. Well, the bundestag is also not a sewage treatment plant, but it is full of shit."

Prepping for today's local little pride march in honor of Christopher Street Day...

Not really in a sunny and rainbow mood today, but in times when many corporate sponsors turn their backs and supporting DEI and the queer community is not chique any more (aka you can't make money with it) and our very own German Chancellor denies raising rainbow colors on the parliament and refers to it not being a "circus tent", I guess the motto of the day has to be to brush away the mood, get out there, join forces, be loud and proud and show some people that the circus is in town and we're here to stay...

Oh how I love Stede Bonnet!

He is so brave. He fully expects that his way out of the life that is killing him will end in his death. But in finally being true to himself - in rejecting the toxic society he comes from and embracing his kindness, his creativity, his style, his femmeness, his whimsy, his insanity, he wins. He’s charming, he respects his crew, he builds a supportive community, he thinks on his feet, he continually proves that kindness and compassion is a better way of living. It takes time - he’s flying by the seat of his pants, he makes lots of mistakes (some big ones), he’s a bitch.  There are ups and downs, but he learns. He keeps learning, and he keeps trying. And in being Stede Bonnet as hard as he can, he meets the love of his life and gets his shot at happily ever after.

Stede Bonnet. Inspirational. Character of all time. I adore him.

Vague Superman spoilers ahead but what does it say about movies lately that I was genuinely surprised that they beat the bad guys without some big catch or sacrifice. Like sure there little things and emotional ramifications but at the end of the day they won.

Lex even tried to do the whole “force the hero to make an impossible choice” thing and it didn’t work because Superman asked his friends for help!

Anyway I’m just obsessed with the theme of “Good can win. It may be hard and it may seem hopeless at times but with love and friendship and a radical determination to save as many people as you possibly can, good can win.”
