hello all! 

we hope things have been going well for everyone. after much consideration and discussion, we have decided to close harcourt for the time being. real life has snuck up on us and we realized that we sadly don't have the time to give the rp the proper attention, time and care it deserves. because of this we have decided that for now, this is the end for our little farm. we want thank you all for being so patient with us at all times and creating such beautiful stories here with us. and we are sorry we're cutting them short, especially when we had so many ideas for where to take the plot forward. writing with all of you has been so wonderful and we can’t thank you guys enough for dedicating your time to harcourt. we hope when things calm down in our lives we can come back but for now, thank you so much for everything!

it’s january 2021. and maybe some students have stayed behind in new york after the new year’s party. maybe some of them are already back moving in to campus after the winter break, to prepare for the start of the spring semester. what your character is up to at the moment is up to you and what you feel makes the most sense for them !

while our characters are preparing for the new semester to start, we’ll be cleaning up the main a little and preparing our next plot drop which will mark the beginning of book ii.

to anyone interested in applying, our next round of acceptances will be this sunday, january 17th, time tbd, but most likely evening in est. 

after that, we’ll be posting our next plot drop on wednesday, january 20th, this will be the beginning of the next semester and of our following plot arc. also, we will be returning to the usual flow of things, both ooc and ic.

before then, we won’t be doing the regular activity checks, since we’ve gotten in touch with you guys already. however, we ask that you please keep us on the loop in case you might be needing a hiatus or anything else !

Do you allow multiple characters per mun? If so, is there a waiting period?

at the moment, we don’t ! since there’s not that many skeletons available, only one skeleton per mun is allowed, hence only one character per mun. sorry about that !

HELLO HELLO ! first of all, i hope you’re all staying safe and having a great start of the new year ! this is just a quick post to let you guys know that we’re still here, neither of us have been able to be here as much as we’d like and we’re very sorry for the radio silence. however, our commitment to our little farm is as strong as always, and so this weekend we’ll be doing a bit of house cleaning to prepare for the beginning of book two and to sort of get back into the swing of things ! ohhh darlings, there’s so many hot and exciting plot drops coming our way ! we can’t wait to share them with you !

after everything that has happened, the students find themselves on edge and unsure of what the new year will bring. as a way to help everyone forget such worries for just one night, the harcourt literary society has thrown a party at st.cloud’s rooftop bar overlooking times square in new york city on december 31st. their invitations find them wherever they may be, the familiar black font on white paper with the golden bee stamped in front greeting them at random times. rooms have been rented out for each of them at the knickerbocker hotel so that they may enjoy the party without any worries.

this will be a week long discord event starting wednesday, december 30th at 5pm EST to tuesday, january 4th at 5pm EST.

that means that throughout the week you may feel free to drop by the discord chat at any time and reply to keep the group thread going. a minimum of two replies will count as your activity for the week as we know it’s a busy time and everyone might find it easier to do a discord reply or two rather than get on the dash at this time. 

that being said, if you’d like to do threads on the dash between your characters you are more than welcome to but it is not mandatory !

you are also free to post any sort of edit, self-para, or anything else you would like for your character at this time, we would love to see it ! our tag for this event will be harcourt:nye !

when do u do acceptances and do you accept reservations?

hello ! we don’t have a set date for acceptances, although it’s usually a few days after we start getting apps. lately, it’s been taking a little longer ‘cause of the holidays, but we still make sure to make a post on the main one or two days before to let interested people know. as for reservations, we don’t currently take them as we try to give everyone a chance to apply for their desired skeleton.

Im a bit scared of being way out of character for my app, would you say you're pretty ok with a different approach from some parts of the original skeleton or it would be better to stay close to them for the future plans you have in mind for the plot? You all seem super chill and honestly this group looks very inviting, which is a huge motivator, but I wouldn't want to overstep by assuming I can just go wild with interpretation since these charas are, after all, your creations first ❤ xx

this is a totally valid thing to worry about but please rest assured that we would be more than okay with having applicants take a different approach to these skeletons. they’re there just as a basis and to help you create a character but in the long run it will be you who brings them to life. like all writers, we know that once you have put something into the world then it is up to the reader to interpret and that’s how we feel about our skeletons !!!! 

so if you’d like to do something different with the one you’re applying to, please feel free to do so !!! it’s always wonderful to see what kind of stories everyone comes up with and we would love a cast of diverse characters in terms of personality and backstory as well !!!!

YUKI LEBEDENKO in PAGE 33: THE REBEL

LULU, it’s not easy to hook someone in with a story but reading yuki’s had us both so invested in this character. her relationship with dance, her mother and how she navigates her mental illness are all things that make yuki herself and it was wonderful to see her come to life. her rebellion is so subtle but so intense that, like you said, it’s like when someone has been fighting for so long that they don’t know how to stop. she’ll be an amazing addition to harcourt and we can’t wait to see how she interacts with everyone else and how her story will unfold. welcome!

NASRIN AHMADI in PAGE 93: THE WILDCARD.

ARIANA, this was perhaps one of the most difficult decision we had to make between apps but in the end nasrins’ unique backstory won us over. while reading there was this feeling of wanting to know more, wanting to see how everything will unfold and we hope harcourt is the perfect place for that to happen. you almost had us in the end with the moment on the page because we really thought we were going to find out who the kidnapper was but some things are better kept secret i suppose. we can’t wait to see nasrin on the dash!
