When Harper grabbed his arm Dimitri smiled down at her as he pulled her close as she kissed her cheek, with a hum he turned to kiss her slowly. “I’m sure there’s only positives in this situation, especially when I get to see you in that.” He said as he pulled back to twirl her slowly in front of him.
-
“Trying to live out some high school fantasy?” Harper teases him, pulling him out on the dance floor. “See if we went to more dances you could have enjoyed actually dancing with me.” Not that Harper didn’t enjoy their private dates in the woods, being a tad selfish keeping him to herself for the time.

When Dimitri entered the manor he took a look around, he’d never been to a dance quite like this before, having usually taken the opportunity to skip any formal dances and instead take Harper somewhere out in the woods for a nightly prowl in his nature.
But now he was attending a themed dance, the theme being eighties, Harper had chosen to be a cheerleader, the attire appropriately themed and he followed suit by being her quarterback.
She had since left his side to greet her parents and he was left looking around as he waited patiently for her return. “I suppose this is a change of events.”
-
Harper went off to greet both her parents to ensure her own night would go smoothly, she didn’t need either one of them freaking out about where she was or how she was dressed, granted she could see the displeasure of her costume choice in her father’s eyes. Going off to find her quarterback she grabbed his arm, “Its one party, it will hardly kill you.” She replies popping up on her toes to kiss his cheek, “Besides connecting with the Mikaelson household could only be helpful in the long run.”

The little blonde stood in front of her father her head nearly tilted all the way back to look him in the eyes. If she didn’t think it would take away from the seriousness of the conversation she would have dragged a stool over to stand on to be level with him. “Its true, if you cared you wouldn’t have picked hunting over us.”

“Alright, you caught me.” Luke laughed through a partially stuffed mouth and took a few moments to chew and swallow the bite of greasy cheeseburger and handful of fries that he had stuffed inside it. “I was starving and something greasy and terrible for your health sounded perfect. Thankfully the Grill makes orders to-go. It’s too nice outside to stay cooped up.” He mused. ( @mysticofthefallenstarter )
-
“That’s alright, I won’t judge.” Harper replies laying out a blanket and settling down on it to do some light reading in the sun, she had her own home packed lunch with her. “If I wasn’t eating at home or at school when I was still attending the boarding school I was at the grill. Everyone goes, its not like there’s much choice.”

immoraldeceit:
The continuous thudding of beating hearts was driving Wyatt insane. He was caught in a constant battle between who he was and the monster that vampirism was threatening to create. Usually, he could keep a handle on his addiction, if he wasn’t around anyone that was actively bleeding, but the moment that he was – no matter how hard he had tried to stop himself, he had blacked out before his fangs had even broken flesh and before he knew it, he was fleeing the scene of a massacre.
The first few times had been overwhelming. He was full of panic and remorse and he couldn’t quite comprehend how he had committed such violent acts and even though he had taken lives before through hunting – nothing could have compared to this. He was feral as he fed, his lips would curl back from his fangs and animalistic growls would urge from his lungs as he ripped his victims apart and hours later, once he stumbled away from his messes, he wouldn’t have complete memories of his actions. All he knew is that he had to get himself cleaned up.
That in itself was a specific ritual. He would scrub at his skin, rubbing the flesh raw and as it would begin to heal, he would repeat his actions, over and over again until he felt somewhat satisfied that he was cleansed. But the hunger was never dormant for long. He found himself often hunting for his next victims, between periods of lucidity.
He had no idea what was going on with him, sure he had come across plenty of rippers in his time, but he refused to believe that was what was happening to him. So, where better to find answer’s than at the boarding school. He found himself amidst the supernatural history books, restless to flick through the pages and discard of the material once he deemed it unworthy of attention. Having noted the presence of another, he couldn’t help but play up to the attention. He continued to flick books from the shelves, scoffing as he did so as he murmured, “lame. Boring. ugh, factually inaccurate. Where are the fun one’s with the pictures?”

Harper was dropping her little sister off at some witchy craft club their mother insisted would be good for her. While she was at the school she thought it would be no issue to borrow a few things from the science labs but on her way she heard the thumps of things being thrown around and her curious mind got the best of her. Sticking her head into the room she raised a brow at the man trashing the room, “If you don’t know how to read just say so, the grade school books are in the lower grades wing. Understandable how you can get lost, if picture books are your speed reading the map might be difficult.”

Mystic Falls hadn’t changed all that much in the time she’d been travelling the world. Granted, things had closed down, but there were new things that had opened up to replace them. Like the new florist, owned by one of her old high school friends.
“Oh, no - I’m not the owner.” Bonnie turned from organising displays, greeting the voice that had approached her, “I’m just helping out for today - the owner should be back in a couple of hours. Maybe I can help?” // @mysticofthefallenstarter
-
Harper stops looking at the other carefully, “Oh well, okay then. I was hoping to find some monkshood, do you know if they have it here?” She casts a careful look around the shop, it was a long shot, wolfsbane wasn’t something that she thought would be common but maybe if anyone was uneasy about a rumor of wolves in the area they’d bring it in.

“We do need to work on how to improve things for students like yourself,” Caroline agreed. Harper was a unique case, but they needed to have plans for cases like that, to be sure they were integrated. “And you’re not wrong at all. Integrating the student body does mean more than just being in the same place, it needs to have more of a solid foundation and real social interaction.” She nodded with a small laugh. “No, they weren’t you. They were mostly evil, for one, and that’s not you. But don’t put down working out of your mother’s attic - some of the greatest inventions have come from humble beginnings, and you’re much more than a science fair participant.”
-
Harper was at least satisfied that the idea was taken seriously, “Good, I might not benefit it but at least my sister will.” Leaving a lasting impact was at least enough for her. ”That’s right.” She nods her head, “Most aren’t willing to break form and leave the social circle they are expected. Honestly I only really connected with Dimi because we’re equally curious about the way of living like the other. He has always been interested in my magic and it wasn’t odd for me to be around the pack.” The idea that evil would use magic and science was confusing to Harper for a moment before she realized that many scientists have a history of crossing a line in the name of science. Harper knew she was far more than that but a healthy humble attitude was what her mother would like to hear. “I will be.” She says instead, knowing that it won’t always be in the attic. “Oh I suppose I should welcome you back home.”

Camila gave a nod once satisfied that nothing had been damaged and a sharp smile played against the corners of her lips given Harper’s response. “Then it’s a good thing that nobody god damaged either. Lucky for him, because I tend to let my temper run away with me sometimes.”
-
Harper kept her temper in check, an impressive feat that she took pride in and something most adults in her life suspected wouldn’t last long, “Things could very messy if I lose my cool.” She answers shifting the box in her arms, “I would say it doesn’t hurt not to rude but it certainly does to be.” Magic only made Harper more dangerous, after all she was strong enough to hurt someone physically the use of magic could mean she didn’t need to get her hands on them to kill and trigger her curse, something she wasn’t ready for.

Sitting down when told Dimitri watched his girlfriend as she pulled the fuel tank from the lighter and began crushing up her herbs. Leaning forward he watched in awe as she began muttering a spell during the process. Once she was done he took the knife offered out to him.
Reaching for the lighters shell he glanced down at the design drawn out on the paper and began carving it into the lighter.
Once he was done he placed the lighter down and turned the lighter towards his girlfriend as he looked up, twirling it gently against his lower lip. “Like that?”
-
Harper watched with a smile as he started to carve, she knew that Dimitri always liked watching her work on her magic studies homework and any magic she had done he was front row watching, asking questions. She couldn’t blame him for having an interest, it was much like her interest in vampires, it was the one thing she couldn’t do same as magic for him.
“Could be a tad less seductive but it doesn’t hurt the process just distracts me.” She answers taking the lighter back from him with a roll of her eyes. “Alright have you been practicing your Latin?” She asks as she sprinkles the herbs into the fuel tank before wiping her hands together. “Cause this only works if you say it right.” Holding the lighter between her hands she mutters the spell for fire and pauses looking at an open book most of which in a different language with the translations handwritten by her on a loose paper in the book. Reading out the dead language, it was technically dark magic but that term seemed loosely used as anything old witches didn’t agree with. There was a large gust of window that swept through the room blasting open the attic window and casting her papers around.

thebedevilledsinner:
Harper had always been a fiercely independent child and Dex had felt as if he had lucked out on that front for his first child. She made parenting feel easy. When she was younger she obviously had more of a dependence on her parents, and whilst he always knew the day was coming that she would be flying the nest, it still didn’t lessen the blow for when she eventually did. He playfully rolled his eyes within response, inhaling a soft breath as he considered Harper’s comment, “right, I forgot I was dealing with a smart ass” he teased. “Oh yeah? is that so?” he continued with a soft smile, “let me guess, you’ll cut the profits 80/20?” As much as he knew not to fall for the innocent smile that Harper had mustered, he couldn’t help it. He was putty in her hands every damn time. As her true intentions were instead revealed, Dex feigned a look of shock, having his hand hover against his heart as he taunted, “what, you over spending time with your dad or something?” His playful expression momentarily faltered as his gaze narrowed and he questioned, “a centrifuge? you know what, I actually think i’d prefer it if you were buying the alcohol.”
-
Harper gives a shrug, “Far better a smart ass than dumb one.” She answers knowing full well if her uncle Lex was there he would certainly laugh. “I’m nothing if not fair Daddy, I think if you did most of the leg work being that people might be more willing to purchase from you rather than me. I could bump it up to a nice 60/40.” After all her ability to make the stuff only matter if it could get sold but this was after all just a bit of nonsense. “Of course not.” Harper answers with a scoff and folding her arms across her chest, “I just need to change the day, its not like you and mom are nazi about which days you get.” It was a low blow but given her parents divorce she felt she had the right to throw them. She narrows her eyes at her father before shaking her head, “That’s only because you don’t know what a centrifuge is do you?”

“There are advantages to the whole vampire thing,” Caroline agreed, smiling. Her first real experience with her own strength was tossing around Mason Lockwood, and she still remembered that as if it had happened yesterday. “I can appreciate that, not wanting the boy to always come to your rescue.” A sculptured eyebrow quirked at Harper’s explanation. “Color me intrigued, but be careful with that, okay? I’ve met some people in this town who tried to blend the supernatural and the scientific and it hardly ever ended well for them. Or anyone else.”
-
“So I’ve seen, it was more educational going to the boarding school than people would think. Not just with the classes but with the general mixing of the student body, I did always think what a shame it was...that I was grouped up with the witches and a bit isolated from the wolves.” She mentions knowing that as an untriggered wolf she had more to relate with the witches but only the wolves understood that rage that bubbled at the surface. “I would say that might be my only complaint, I keep telling my sister to reach out to others, the little coven the school has is just a tiny piece of what she could be part of. We can’t get rid of the stigmas if we don’t integrate more than just sleeping under the same roof with one another.” After all many didn’t get to learn another their fellow students difficulties or they just didn’t trust one another like they should. “No offense, Ms. Forbes but those people weren’t me. I don’t have plans to cure illnesses that reach the molecular level, but even the most early days of science were said to have a touch of magic. I don’t relate that to ignorance besides I’m working out of my mother’s attic. Its what a glorified science fair right?” She offers the older blonde with an innocent smile.’

The noticeable sizing up of her from the petite blonde sent Rebekah’s brows furrowing slightly before giving a soft shake of her head, a hum slipping from her lips as her blue hues glanced around them for a moment. “Hard man to catch it would seem,” she mused more to herself than the girl before her gaze returned to the blonde. “No, but then I hardly ever show up announced. My family has got a flare for the dramatic entrances. How about Caroline? A little birdie told me she was in town. Is she around?”
-
Harper gives a shrug, “Only if you really need him.” She pipes up knowing that she used to see him often just at the worst times and when students actually could use his help he seemed to be off god knows where. Most of his time seemed to be used on Hope Mikaelson and given her family history it made sense to Harper. High risks get the personal attention of the headmaster, Harper wasn’t in need of that therefore never felt as bitter as others like Elizabeth Saltzman. “I’ve seen her but unless you call ahead I wouldn’t expect to find her not busy, between tending to her twins and then taking care of everything else that Dr. Saltzman has been slacking on. I’m just here to pick up my little sister, I don’t go here anymore.”

Camila’s brow furrowed within irritation as she caught the collision and decided to intervene. The brunette reached for the back of the perpetrator’s shirt, holding him still as she instructed, “apologise.” Once the rather sorry looking youngster apologised to Harper, Camila released her grip and offered a death glare which ensured they scuttled off, before turning herself to face the blonde with a smile, “I hope nothings broken.”
-
Harper watched on with mild interest, if she had free hands it would be something else, her anger might have bubbled over but breaking her own things in order to rage out on one guy wasn’t logical and her training told her to take breaths. “I doubt it, I have everything wrapped in bubble wrap, it was just the mere principle of matter. I mean a step to the side wouldn’t have hurt him being rude could have.”

“I’m definitely not too busy, Harper.” The moment an apology had left the man’s lips he stopped existing to Caroline, and she turned her attention fully to her student. “Boys are always getting caught up with something,” she remarked playfully, accepting the box from Harper’s hands. “What’s all this?”
-
“Well I’d never turn down good help and that box is likely light as a feather for you.” She says watching the vampire carrying it as if it were empty even, power wasn’t something Harper ever felt she lacked but there were different levels of power and she hoped to reach another one. “Dimi usually tries to drop things if I need help but I told him not to. Its not that big of a deal.” She was independent when she wanted to be after all, her father and mother taught her well enough to take care of herself. “Equipment, beakers, burners, test tubes and the like. Just because I no longer go to the Salvatore school doesn’t mean there isn’t more to learn. I could join the college but I’m interested in the study of blending magic and science so its easier and safer to work at home.”

“But I do know, my dear,” he retorted, a laugh easing from your lips. “You’re a Vane and a Whitman. We boost our own egos rather than rely on others to boost it for us.” It was a hardly a surprise to Darcy that her daughter had managed to survive the Boarding School life. She was every bit her mother and her father in the best ways possible that had Harper had difficulties in the school it would’ve been more of a shock than anything. “Positive,” she mused with a shake of her head. “What exactly are you doing up there again? Not trying to create a Frankenstein are you? Don’t think the beams will fully support the weight of that.”
-
It was true, Harper had little reason not to have an ego, she was pretty, intelligent, talented and she had her parents to thank for some of it and then the rest was completely her. She fit into the mini coven that the Boarding school created, related to the wolves that just waited for her to trigger, though the therapy that Alaric had her take had her anger in check for the most part for untriggered wolf. She rolls her eyes at her mother, “Really? Frankenstein is the name of the doctor mom, not the monster.” She corrects her, bringing pieces of the dead home to sew up and bring back to life wasn’t Harper’s goal, she’d leave playing with the dead to others. “Sure, I have Dimitri dig up bodies for me like my own handsome version of Igor.” The sarcasm she hoped was obvious, with no mention that she knew fairly well that if she asked, Dimitri wouldn’t hesitate to pick up a shovel and get to work. “Its just research mom, no offense but I don’t think you’d understand.”
