au where she has insomnia so he has to talk to her so she can fall asleep

If there was one thing Nisha could choose to do for the rest of her life besides dentistry, it was sleeping. She never had an issue falling asleep in any place she could--in the car, on a plane, on the floor. She could even fall asleep when she was stressed or anxious. She could do it any time and anywhere. 

So it was frustrating to her on the night before her first day at her new dental internship, she was having trouble falling asleep. She glanced at the clock from the comfort of her bed and saw that it was nearing three o’clock in the morning, and let out an audible sigh. Worry crept over her; she didn’t want to be cranky and tired on her first day and make a bad impression.

In the dark, she blindly felt for her phone under her pillow and dialed the one person who she knew would be awake. It rang four times and she lost hope that he would answer, until she heard his bright voice filter through the phone. 

“Hello? Are you okay? It’s the middle of the night in London--”

She smiled to  herself as she cut him off. “I’m fine, can’t sleep.”

“Really?” He sounded amused. “Is it because you miss me?”

“No.” She replied bluntly. “I don’t know why it is, I never have this problem.”

“I know. You fell asleep at one of our gigs once,” he quipped, letting out a soft chuckle as she sighed. “Drink some warm milk,” he suggested. 

Nisha grimaced. “That sounds repulsive.”

“Niall’s got one of those sleeping apps on his phone that make it sound like you’re near the ocean,” he continued. “It’s meant to be relaxing, you could try that.”

“There’s nothing relaxing about the ocean," she groaned, clutching the phone closer to her ear. She could hear him inhaling and exhaling on the other end of the phone and wished it was loud enough to lull her to sleep. “There’s sharks and octopus and sand. So much sand!”

Harry laughed, and Nisha could picture him running his hands through his hair. “I don’t know how to help you, baby.”

“Can you just talk?” She asked quietly, almost shyly. 

“Do you miss my voice?” He asked, and Nisha hated the delighted tone in his voice.

Her cheeks warmed. “Shut up,” she whispered. 

“What shall I talk about?”

Nisha wanted to say, ‘Anything.’ Because truthfully, he could talk about anything and Nisha would be comforted that he was talking to her, just for her, and it would help her fall asleep. But she pictured the smug, satisfied grin that would encompass his face if she said that. So instead, she dryly said, “Something boring that will make me fall asleep, like that time you ranted about the endangerment of bees.”

“Hey! That’s a serious issue, especially for cross pollenation in gardens!” He answered, his voice rising in pitch.

“Yeah, just like that,” Nisha said, as she got cozy against her pillow and pulled the blanket up to her chin. “That’s perfect.”

Don't make this a race issue. These writers are wonderful and inclusive who are constantly working on their stories and pouring forth new material. Your blog is almost dead and very inactive. i started reading roots because of one them recommended it to me. You rarely promote stories except for sugar. before you go all your white you don't have a say on me I am very Indian. Honestly all of you Indian teens raised abroad act oversensitive.

I thought the whole point of 1daaw was to bring the community together but low and behold they used it as a way to praise the same stories over and over again. It gets so tiring tbh.

Honestly like its so funny to me how oblivious they are like they think they're actually doing something good and it's like? The bare minimum...less than the bare minimum
