Bad Marriage : Blame the Genes

A new study now finds that the quality of a person’s marriage could be affected by their genes.

The study was conducted at Binghamton University, State University of New York.

A research team, led by Richard Mattson evaluated whether different genotypes of the Oxytocin Receptor gene (OXTR) influenced how partners support one another, which is a key determinant of overall marital quality.

Kuldeep Yadav achieves new heights in T20i rankings

Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav has moved up one place to take a career-best second position in the International Cricket Council (ICC) men’s T20I player rankings after grabbing two for 26 in the final match against New Zealand which his side lost by four runs to go 2-1 down in the series.

The 24-year-old accounted for well-set openers Tim Seifert and Colin Munro in the only match he played during the series and reaped immediate dividends. He is now only behind Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan in the table.

At least two aspiring cricketers on Monday thrashed the selector of senior men’s team and former cricketer, Amit Bhandari, here after they apparently failed the trials, officials of Delhi police and Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) said.

The incident took place at St Stephens ground in north Delhi area at around 1 pm during trials for the Under-23 Mushtaq Ali Trophy, they said.

Game of Thrones Season 8 to be aired this year

HBO has officially announced the most anticipated Game of Thrones season 8. Yes, the throne is back and also in its final stage. HBO’s reminder to the fans that the iconic series would conclude this year met with demands for a trailer.

The eighth and final season of the fantasy drama television series Game of Thrones was announced by HBO in July 2016. Unlike the first six seasons that each had ten episodes and the seventh that had seven episodes, the eighth season will have only six episodes.

Filming officially began on October 23, 2017, and concluded in July 2018. The season is scheduled to premiere in April 2019.

Khloe recently opened up about practicing positive affirmations with her 10-month-old daughter True every day, reported People.

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph’s Stellar magazine cited by People, the ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star reflected upon how every day she and True, say “positive affirmations” together.

According to a recent study, if you are going to choose dessert first, then the high-calorieoption might lead to a healthier meal.

As part of the study, researchers placed either a healthy or less healthy dessert (fresh fruit vs. lemon cheesecake) at the beginning or end of a university cafeteria line. When diners picked the cheesecake first, they then chose lower-calorie main or side dishes and ultimately consumed fewer calories than diners who chose the fresh fruit first.

US, Russia present resolution draft on Venezuela crisis to UN

Washington on Sunday (local time) presented a draft resolution on the ongoing political and humanitarian crisis in Venezuela, calling for international aid deliveries and early presidential elections, to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

The US draft resolution also stressed on a “deep concern with the violence and excessive use of force by Venezuelan security forces against unarmed, peaceful protesters”, Al Jazeera reported.

Singer Badshah will soon be seen on screen as an Actor

After regaling fans with several chart-toppers in recent years, singer-rapper Badshah will soon be seen in debutant director Shilpi Dasgupta’s upcoming film starring Sonakshi Sinha.

The yet untitled project is being produced by Bhushan Kumar, Mahaveer Jain, and Mrighdeep Singh Lamba and is being written by Gautam Mehra.

The cast has already started shoot in Punjab from January 25.

Badshah, who will be essaying a character close to his real self, said, “I am extremely nervous however I have taken the leap. This year I have undertaken many firsts, with my debut as a producer and now as an actor. Bhushanji and Mrigh both kept convincing me on how perfect the role is for me. It’s a film which is so unique and different, whenever I think of it, brings a smile to my face. The added advantage is working with a super talented bunch and also my buddy Sonakshi who is very dear friend and the others like Varun Sharma.”

PANKAJ ADVANI: The Knight we need right now.

The drill is almost eerie in its familiarity. Pankaj Advani wins yet another medal. Makes historians and custodians of the sport shake their heads in disbelief. Repeats feat a few days later.

The routine played itself out unfailingly a few days ago, when Pankaj returned home after winning his 19th World Title. No other mortal has come even close. Anywhere else in the world, that piece of breaking news would have been enough to bring traffic to a standstill. You couldn’t rule out riots. Google’s mail server could come close to crashing.

For Pankaj, though, it will be business as usual. The man will simply place the trophy next to the countless other honours he’s picked up over the years, and move on. To the next one he needs to convert into a souvenir.
