Seeing the light return in trans women’s eyes after they have their gender confirmation surgery is such a beautiful experience. It’s why I’m proudly a transmedicalist, because every trans person who has dysphoria deserves to have experiences like this.

Something that always bothered me about America’s obsession with individualism is how it ignores the impact of our environment, as well as our genetics.
So often, we hear the phrase “you can make yourself whoever you want to be.” Or “you can choose your own destiny!” There is some merit to the phrase, but as it is in real life, there are so many complex factors that play into effect. I won’t be touching on the positive aspects of these thoughts, due to how often they’re spoken about.
For a lot of my life, I grew up feeling out of place. I never saw myself as myself. Instead it felt like I was looking at a stranger. No one around me looked like me. I’m petite, muscular, I have almond shaped eyes, and I have fine, straight hair. I would look at my arms and not understand why I had such a hard time finding my shade in makeup. I was white after all, this should’ve been easy! I was expected to model everyone around me and get along. After all, we had the same childhood and opportunities growing up, why did it feel like I was different?
It’s because I am different. I couldn’t see myself in the mirror, because everyone who I saw was white. I was raised with white people who told me I was white, because of how light my skin is. I couldn’t understand why I was a different kind of white. Nobody I knew looked like me, so I erased myself. I wanted to fit into where I was (my environment). I was denied a vital aspect of my identity.
Individualism told me that I could do anything I wanted to do, but they neglected to mention that their rules only applied to white, cishet men, because their culture, community, and genetics are considered acceptable and correct.
Individualism doesn’t exist. Individualism is what happens when cultures, communities, and people are erased from the narrative. Where only specific communities are allowed opportunities that are denied to others.
They ask us “why can’t you try harder?!” With no due respect, I ask what they could accomplish if THEY tried harder? What could be done if privileged people tried harder than the bare minimum they stand on?
Individualism erases the difficult things that people go through. It erases people’s families, cultures, lifestyles, and identities.
It erases people who don’t fit the mold for individualism. How ironic.

Desiring another woman is not wrong or filthy, and craving intimacy and sex from another woman is not predatory.
Lesbianism is not shameful, and fuck anyone else who thinks otherwise.

I wonder what Christian meme groups are like. I mean some Christians have the biggest victim complexes in the world and if you couple that with first person perspective memes, you’d probably get memes like:

I think it's so funny how we bred JOBS into dogs. I have two shih tzus and they were bred to be lap dogs. All they care about is looking cute and cuddling with people. Meanwhile my grandma has a border collie and that dog needs to feel so useful all the time, he acts like he will pass away if he doesn't have a job to do constantly
