What I like in different artists drawing Gilgamesh is that how their art style gives you different vibes

Like TAa's Gilgamesh makes you feel so soft and you just want to gently hold his sweet baby face and gently kiss it all over and you just want to walk around with him while holding hands🥰

While Morii's Gilgamesh just makes you feel feral and you just want him to bend you over and just do unholy things to you🙈

Even though he said this just because he didn't want to tell Fujimaru the real reason why he went along with them I still think that deep down he genuinely just wanted to get away from all that chaos and his responsibilities and just shut away from the world and just relax and rest.

And yes, he understands the importance of his position and he enjoys being as that northern wind for humanity and play with human lives and fates and just living in luxury but even for Gilgamesh it can be overwhelming to some degree and it can feel mundane even.

And yes, that trope where some royalty or billionaire dresses in simple clothing and walking around masses is quite generic already but it's still can be quite appealing and kinda reminds us that even someone like Gilgamesh wants to get away from all that luxury and stuff and just enjoy a simple life of commoner and even his route in Tiger Colosseum was revolving around that topic as well, he wanted to understand how is it like to live like a commoner.

And when you get his Establishment costume in fgo he says this:

(It's a direct transition of that line from Japanese and it can be wacky and I know there's translated version of it but I think that transition lacks that key on which I want to focus)

He compares his duties of a king to having a collar on his neck, like he's being chained to the throne and honestly, to me personally, sometimes it does feel like it.

And I guess that's why we see him being in a new role in Samurai Remnant

A small side note: I find it really funny that he sells anything except things that connected to textile😆

Sure, he still does the things he usually does but he tries something new and he's clearlycenjoying himself. He likes watching humans, watching their lives and I'm sure he sometimes wants to be a part of it as well but not as a king but also as a simple man.

That is a very good point yeah and you describe his dualities perfectly. finding the right key sounds tough though, at the end of the day someone can only be themselves whether gilgamesh approves of them or not. ah well i hope even if someone doesnt vibe with gilgamesh that's ok. he can be so polarising.

ngl sometimes i wonder if part of why gilgamesh is so multidimensional is cuz sometimes hes a king, sometimes he seems off duty, sometimes he's doing god knows what, sometimes he sees a situation and just well... does what's either what he deems best according to his role but then sometimes may act in his own interests too?

Idk my homies im wondering if Gilgamesh dallies between his duty as a king and his personal desires, especially as an arbriter of desires who leads humanity but then also does the wildest ass most human things sometimes. Like is he toeing the line between his duty and personal desires? Like the tyrannical king can be seen as both a persona but also a way to release some of his darker desires too. Maybe sometimes he performs as a king but sometimes maybe not. Guess maybe the king could be his main identity.

I dont know ok i mean why wouldn't a king with a role as heavy as his also have some desires, make mistakes, try to guide ppl but maybe not always in ways that others understand... hell maybe not even in the actual best ways either 🤣🤣, be a dick sometimes and i guess have feelings too. And still keep on learning about the world and his own place in it.

Idk he seems wise to me but also like he's jamming down piano keys or sm and going "fuahahaha watch my new fangled creative endevours at work" and its like "gilgamesh that the wrong ass key" and his face briefly pales and he goes "what folly mongrel, i who know humanity better than most! I would never dare to lay my golden digits upon a failed key" and its like "is this ur first time playing piano gilgamesh" and he just laughs it off and keeps jamming keys because though he knows all the secrets of the world, and all the inner workings of the piano- not even he can find the solutions to all that is to come... maybe even gilgamesh has limitations i guess. To know everything but maybe not have all the answers on how to face it sounds rough.

Thank you, this is a very eye opening addition to the gilgamesh thoughts post. I see though, in addition to him enjoying the commoner life- it really does seem like this guy does mess with people sometimes because he enjoys it T-T that must be so confusing, guessing the reasoning behind why gilgamesh would challenge someone then. sometimes it seems he does things both terrible and helpful for fun, and sometimes it can be for a longer term goal. seems he varies a lot between his role and him as just himself...

Idk this thought just hit me because yea gilgamesh wise yea he guides but lol sometimes he is operating on some wild gilgamesh standard and it doesnt always seem to work out, even with all the power he has. He can use all weapons but only masters a few. He sees and knows all things but possibly cannot fix them all. Maybe he understands powerlessness more than i initially thought.
