 as persephone — the goddess of spring, the goddess who traded her crown of flowers for a crown of gold, traded her life as a normal person above for the life of a queen of the underworld, a girl who knew what she wanted it and knew how to get it. the wife of hades, the lover of hades, the queen to his king. an anguished mother, crying for a daughter that might never return.

soul cast to earth she’s born as spencer hastings — born into a life of lies, a convoluted family tree almost as confusing as the one of the gods themselves, a missing friend, a murdered friend, a friend back from the dead, being held hostage, being stalked, tortured, threatened, lied to, forced to lie, manipulated — all at the hand of someone she considered a friend, later by her sister. 

she leaves rosewood behind, leaves washington behind, trades in her life as a lobbyist, her life in politics for her love of flowers. puts her hastings money to good use and buys a storefront and loft — educates herself further on what each flower means and quickly becomes a well known and favourite stop. 

flashes of memories, flashes of a life as a queen, plague her dreams, flash in front of her eyes when she loses focus — all torment her, taunt her, tempt her with a life she wants so desperately to live, to remember. 

she is rarely seen without her three large dogs — rehor; always watching, iosif; always waiting, and leander; sitting strong. they accompany her at the store most every day, usually lounging in the back or behind the counter, keeping a watchful eye out for their master, calm and collected around customers, but ready to attack at a moment’s notice. she’s only had them a few years, but now she can’t even begin to imagine what it might be like without them.
