I don’t understand why people are just classing this ship as ‘sin’ and sin only? Did nobody ever teach you the difference between sinful sin and pure sin? hatasoup is pure sin, I tell you. It is a beautiful, pure and healthy romance between two lovers so while yes it may be sin, it is very important you understand which sin you are talking about. 

I hope one day you will come to realize the true beauty of this blessed pairing and will join us as a fellow hatasoup sinner shipper. I’m sure when that day comes you will regret placing hatasoup in the wrong category of sin.

soup has never thought to love another nor see another as his own equal since mitsuba died, whereas hata has always been forced to uphold his royal duties, to only think of the good of his people, etc. he’s never gotten the chance to think for himself nor experience freedom. when they meet, soup realizes that he can give the freedom and passion that hata has longed for his entire life. and hata realizes that he can give soup understanding and compassion that only mitsuba could, once. 

conclusion: sorachi clearly decided to create omelette soup and prince hata for a reason - to show how tragic backstories and unresolved sexual tension between humans and aliens can lead to a higher plane of romance and true love. #hatasoup is canon
