10 YEARS OF SPEAK NOW
Real life is a funny thing, you know. In real life, saying the right thing at the right moment is beyond crucial. So crucial, in fact, that most of us start to hesitate, for fear of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. But lately what I’ve begun to fear more than that is letting the moment pass without saying anything. I think you deserve to look back on your life without a chorus of resounding voices saying ‘I could’ve, but it’s too late now.’ So there’s a time for silence and there’s a time for waiting your turn. But if you know how you feel and you so clearly know what you need to say, you’ll know it. I don’t think you should wait. I think you should speak now.

THE LAKES: LYRICAL BREAKDOWN
Okay so I'm a massive nerd and I think the lyrics of this song are just so beautiful before even hearing it so I wanted to post a breakdown of the lyrics and their meanings (or my interpretation) line-by-line. I hope this helps some people if you were struggling to understand some parts of the song's meaning!

I think the tiniest little thing can change the course of your day, which can change the course of your year, which can change who you are.

Honestly, I never thought I’d actually be playing a teen lesbian. I didn’t think it was going to go this far. But I’m glad that it did, because there have been a lot of fans who have expressed that they’ve been going through similar situations in their lives. - Naya Rivera

i’m so pissed off. i’m pissed off by the terrible job taylor’s management is doing with international fans. honestly i don’t know which one is getting a worse treatment right now between the tour’s reorganization and the merchandise shipping. and the thing that pisses me off mostly is that americans get the top priority always and in any case. the lover fest shows? uncertain or canceled except for the american ones that have been rescheduled and they are sure to take place next year. shows for which taylor said a few words at least. a thing that she didn’t do for non-american shows. the rep merchandise? americans got everything in record time while us internationals are still dealing with unbelievable delays, delivery of wrong items and last minute substitutions because the item is no longer available even though people spent money on it and waited weeks and now they’re forced to fall back on items that they don’t like or just give up. it’s undeniable that taylor and her team have a strong preference for american fans. you can’t deny it. you can’t. they don’t even hide it at this point. everything is ten times worse for international fans. and everything is ten times easier for american fans. merchandise, promotion, tour shows, meet and greets. everything. sometimes it feels like we don’t even exist. it feels like we’re not that important. and it hurts. i’m sorry, i don’t want to bring up the same stuff we’ve been saying since forever on this hellsite, but i have the feeling we’re not being listened to. the treatment they always had and keep having for international fans is unacceptable, frustrating and humiliating. and i wish there was a way to make taylor know these things. the truth is that we are second class fans. and that’s degrading. i thought the lover fest european shows were a sort of tiny step towards us - even though they were still like part of pre-existing festivals while the american shows were lover fest original but okay we accepted it because you can’t have everything at once -, but ah sh*t here we go again. same old story. i’m tired. i’m so tired. and i’m disappointed that taylor keeps allowing all of this without saying a word of comfort or actually trying to do something. we love her and we give her our hearts every day, just like american fans do. we just want to be treated equally.

I’m not used to spend a lot of time here on Tumblr. However, today I decided to scroll down my timeline and all I read were posts of people offending @taylorswift for not speaking about BLM.
Taylor did what she had to do, give the example that, as a famous songwriter with a strong fanbase, she had the duty to speak about this important issue of our society (even though I’m Italian, racism is something that Italy has been dealing with for years). She wrote to Trump, called him out risking to receive hatred and threats. But she did it. She addressed the issue, and that’s really important, because several politicians are neglecting what black people are standing for.
Taylor has the duty to use her fanbase to address matters that go beyond music (like human rights), and she did all she could to make us aware of how we could help and stand by the black community.
Don’t call her bad things, don’t say she doesn’t stand for human rights. If that’s what you think, you don’t know Taylor
