The Inazuma Bakufu is based off the Tokugawa shogunate, not Imperial Japan.

You can tell because the game calls the government the Inazuma Bakufu, like the Tokugawa Bakufu; it calls the ruler the Raiden Shogun, like the Tokugawa shoguns; the bureaucracy consists of the Tri-Commission, like the Three Administrators; and the whole country is under lockdown under the Sakoku policy, like the ... sakoku policy. Which, incidentally, was an isolationist policy, as opposed to the imperialist policy of Imperial Japan.

It's so interesting to me how differently Liyue is treated lore-wise compared to Mondstadt and Inazuma.

Mondstadt Lore: Slavery, corrupt aristocracy, violent revolution

Inazuma Lore (from what we know): Archon literally murders people, takes their visions, doesn't allow people to leave the country

Liyue Lore: safe haven established after a big war, thriving and peaceful :)

It does… but also it doesn’t, and certainly not on a one-to-one level.  Otherwise, I wouldn’t have had a staunch conservative/proto-fascist former friend recommend to me Lois McMaster Bujold’s books; he was quite in love with the military sci-fi aspect, but not so much the liberal outlook that her stories are steeped in.  The same former friend also recommended to me Seanan McGuire’s books, which are also decidedly more on the liberal edge of things.

I wouldn’t have had to kick a Trump supporter off of my Discord server who basically saw my alternate history fic and was enamored to the point of joining, but ignored all of the liberal and leftist mindset I have steeped into it. 

Going bigger, Paul Ryan, who is a political sociopath and hypocrite on a scale that is mind-boggling, liked to say that Rage Against The Machine was his favorite band–while the band members basically said that he was the personification of the machine they are raging against.  

And how many hardcore conservatives willfully misinterpret Star Trek’s messages of inclusiveness and “we can be better”?  Or Star Wars’ pointed comments on fascism and authoritarians?  Or the mindset encapsulated by this picture?

 So, yes, fiction can affect people’s mindsets.  But it’s not a mold into which a mind is pressed, stamped out and formed into identical models, as some people seem to think it is.  No, it is sowing seeds into fertile or barren ground, with the possibility of it taking root or not.  And even then, what takes root there depends on how nurturing the existing environment is, and further cultivation.

Chinese MMOs are kind of notorious for their use of cash shop and real money trading (RMT). From what we get to see in the novel, I think Glory might actually be pretty lightweight when it comes to Pay to Win mechanics - I don’t remember a cash shop ever being mentioned, high-level equipment and materials all have to be acquired through the game, there isn’t even a basic EXP multiplier for sale. As for skill point resets, I believe players get two for free: one at the level 20 class change, and a second for the level 50 class awakening.

Yup! - that said, Jiang You and Liang Yichun have both come down with serious cases of Not-Appearing-In-The-Dramaitis. Presumably the same can be said of Arisaema, although he didn’t have any reason to appear yet.

They’ve been cut from the subtitled versions up on WeTV, but the Chinese episodes have little namecards that pop up every time a new character appears, with their name, account name, class, and position. All three of the 10th server guild leaders showed up with ‘公会 会长’, or just plain ‘guild leader’, so I think it’s safe to assume that for the sake of condensing the cast, the live action chose to remove the distinction between server leaders and guild leaders, and they’ll just transition straight from the 10th server to the Heavenly Domain without bothering to explain. It also falls neatly in line with the drama’s simplification of the guild shenanigans plots overall.

So congratulations to our 10th server leaders for the promotion, and bye-bye to the OG guild leaders, who now join the likes of Liu Hao and Sleeping Moon’s original player in being written out of existence.

That being said - for all the flack I give Blue River, Yu Wenzhou does mention he received a video from him in episode 6. But I found the contrast with the other two pretty funny, hope you did too!
