An honor and an inspiration to have had the chance to discusse and meet the man who revolutionized Premium Cigar making
A brief history :
“Carlos “Carlito” P. Fuente, Jr. is a 3rd generation cigar maker and Chairman and visionary of Arturo Fuente. The company began in 1912, when Carlito’s grandfather began rolling cigars in the family’s kitchen and selling them at the back door. Today, 100 years later, Arturo Fuente manufactures and distributes some 30 million cigars per year.
Carlito, together with his father, played a pivotal role in transforming Arturo Fuente. He expanded A. Fuente & Company from one small company in Ybor City, Florida into one of the world’s most famous premium hand-rolled cigar manufacturers, with operations around the globe. He has been instrumental in resurrecting the best of the historic cigar industry, training modern cigar rollers to make the old shapes and sizes of cigars, and creating some of the most extraordinary cigar art of his generation.”

Metropolis Rising
The World Cup is not over, and yet the Western media are bashing, doubting, even pitying Qatar(?). They claim the tiny Gulf state has spent $300bln on a PR extravaganza. It’s their money ain’t it? They claim that Qatar will be empty, again, once the fans leave. Are Giles Turner and David Hellier of Bloomberg looking for a career in real estate in Qatar and worried about the plummeting demand? No glitches, no problems, no fans’ violence, no issues were raised sor far and still, the Western media cannot fathom that a GCC country, a developing nation, and a non-European or Western country can pull off such a great feat! The bitterness in every sentence is so thick, you can cut it with a knife. Then, they go on ranting about Qatar’s LGBT + (what is the plus for?) and migrant workers’ treatment in the same line as they discuss the undisputed demand by Europe for Qatari gas amid soaring prices and low supplies. So, in that same vein, how is the fate of the LGBT+ and the migrant workers in Azerbaijan which is being courted by the EU to sell it gas? Better, how has been the human rights record of Russia’s Putin when it has been selling gas to “Holier Than Thou '' Europe for decades while its oligarchs have been buying football clubs and half the luxury mansions of Londongrad? Double standards and hypocrisy of some journalists seems to have no bounds. I say this because I respect Bloomberg as a decent, rational, intelligent news outlet. Veering towards negative reporting, cultural biases, and almost a neo-colonialist narrative do not help readers get closer to the truth or Bloomberg closer to its journalistic objectives which, are and should remain, clarity, transparency, and rationality in reporting the news.
