‘Hazbin Hotel’ Picked up by A24 for TV Series

On August 7, A24 announced that it had picked up Vivienne “VivziePop” Medrano’s adult animated series Hazbin Hotel for a full TV series. No information about production schedule or network has been announced yet, and a release date is yet to be revealed.

Hazbin Hotel is a musical black comedy series created, directed, and written by Medrano. It follows Charlie (Jill Harris), the princess of Hell as she attempts to rehabilitate sinners in the “Happy Hotel.” An animated pilot was independently produced and released on YouTube in October 2019. The pilot has been viewed over 40 million times as of July 2020.

Harris stars alongside Monica Franco as Vaggie, Charlie’s girlfriend and the hotel’s manager, Micheal Kovach as Angle Dust, a gay adult-film star and test case for the hotel, and Edward Bosco as Alastor, an eccentric overlord of hell and patron of the hotel. Other main cast includes Michelle Marie, Mick Lauer, Elsie Lovelock, and Gabriel C. Brown.

THEY REALLY CALLED VIVZIE A WHITE WOMAN I CANNOT-

Fun fact! I’m a trans, asexual, Hispanic, Latin@ that thinks trash talking a fellow Latino and calling them a “white woman” completely ignoring their identity and labeling that either as a pure assumption because they don’t “pass” as Latina or to try and make them look like a privileged ignorant bigot are both absolute bullshit. Either purposefully wrongly labeling someone to try and make you look more morally superior cause you’re less “privileged” or wrongly labeling someone solely on their looks and thus adding to a wrong and possibly harming stereotype are both absolute dick moves. I’m furious right now.

You’re allowed to think Hazbin fucking sucks but trying to push a narrative solely based on labels/identities and immediately after in the same argument wrongly label someone’s identity makes you a fucking dick in my eyes.

Addison and Gustav isn't a pedophelic relationship, not even a teacher-student one.

So If you've seen the Vivzie drama, you very probably have seen this image:

And let me tell you, it's absolute bullshit.

I recently read Zoophobia and THIS is literally the page before the one in the screenshot:

These are the important text bubbles: "I'm actually in my third year", "you... Graduated? right?", and "last year, I am just assisting now".

Whoever was was the person claiming this bullshit in the screenshot PURPOSELY took out the fact that 1) Addison is in his 3rd year of highschool, he's not a fucking child, 2) Gustav only graduated LAST YEAR and is now a teacher's ASSISTANT, and 3) They're AT MOST only two years apart in age.

Gustav is confirmed 19 years old, this is at most extreme a 19 and 17 year old dating, which would definitely have laws protecting their relationship in the real world, take for example, the "Romeo and Juliet" law.

But in reality, according to the wiki, Addison is 18, so this is almost most definitely consensual in literally all ways legally speaking.

So there you have it, my apologies for being so aggressive in this post but when you have allegations like this that are, to a level, faked, against you that can be disproved/disputed by looking at the previous page, you may understand where this anger is coming from.

Dear Vivziepop haters!

I am tired of misinformation going around Vivzie! you have every right to dislike her and not feel comfortable with things she's done in the past, you have every right to dislike or even hate Hazbin Hotel, but do not spread misinformation and false accusations!!!

Supporting pedophilia? false accusation

Having a pedophelic relationship in her comic? false accusation

Having a teacher-student relationship in it? false accusation.

Being transphobic and/or homophobic? the weakest accusation of all.

Tracing and copying animations? Honestly this is bullshit and false.

Stealing a character design? she bought it, false accusation.

The best claims are drawing bestiality and having an defending an abuser.

I'd also like to add, that bestiality art was between a character that was half animal, done 7 years ago, and deeply regretted by Vivzie, she's apologized.

And most importantly, ALOT of these accusations came from a time were she was a victim of abuse and had poor mental health, they were some of the darkest times she went through and it must be so hurtful to have that era constantly pulled against your throat.

A random person dm’d me on another site after I posted a sorta vent post being all supporting towards me and I felt so happy but basically the second after I replied the conversation when to their creepy pasta oc and how they’re a “satanist” and like idk how to feel about this

So, the Addict MV came out and it was great! But lately, I’ve been seeing a lot of people split on Valentino. Namely, people complaining why fans hate Val for being a bad person but adore Alastor despite being a bad person. I think I have the reason, but I would like to emphasize that I’m not trying to tell anyone who to like or who to hate. I’m not trying to suede anyone either way. You can love or hate Val. You can love or hate Alastor. I’m not picking sides nor am I forcing anyone to pick a side. I’m just offering my personal analysis and opening a new perspective on the situation.

So, why is Valentino hated? Well, he’s a pimp. He clearly abuses Angel Dust along with the rest of his workers. He forces himself on them, whether they like it or not. It’s also implied that he keeps them on substances in order for them to keep doing what he wants.

Now, what makes Alastor a bad person? Well, he’s a serial killer and cannibal. Being a deal-maker, he’s manipulative on some level. But it’s also implied that he has some kind of moral code, as twisted as it might be.

Both seem pretty bad, right? It may seem logical to hate Alastor just as much as Valentino because of their sins, right? Yet, the majority of people love Alastor and hate Val. Why is this?

Well, I think it’s because of what their sins are. Valentino is an abuser, and I think more people can relate to being abused in some sense and have an easier time empathizing with Angel (and any of Val’s workers) because they either have been in that situation, or know someone who’s been in that situation. Pimps are a very real and scary thing and abuse is something that people (including myself) experience.

Not to mention, we see how Angel Dust (one of Val’s victims) responds to his abuse. He’s in shambles. Broken. Unhappy when he’s not on some kind of high. Valentino wrecked him and we clearly see that. When we witness the victim’s point of view, we can easily call out Valentino on how terrible he is since we’ve seen the ending result of his abuse.

“But serial killers are just as scary and real”, I hear you say. And yes, they are, but how many people do you know who have been personally attacked by a serial killer? My guess is either very few, or not at all. Yes, we hear stories of serial killers running amok ever so often. But they’re not as common, ergo, harder to picture yourself in the position of being the victim of a serial killer such as Alastor.

Now, we haven’t exactly seen a victim of Alastor’s yet and what their point of view is as far as the end result of his deeds go. The only real implied ‘victims’ of Alastor’s deal-making are Niffty and Husk. And they seem fine. Yes, it may be an inconvenience when he summons them for something, but they don’t really seem resentful of him (aside from Husk, but I would chalk that up to his ‘fuck off’ attitude, not a result of Alastor’s manipulation).

Also, what does Alastor do when Husk refuses to do what Alastor asks of him? He offers him compensation in the form of something he knows Husk likes. In this case, cheap booze in return for working at the hotel.

What does Valentino do when Angel refuses to do what Valentino asks of him? He physically forces him to do it anyway.

Also, Valentino is supposed to be pictured as a main antagonist, while Alastor is more implied to be a protagonist or at the very least morally grey.

Anyway, that’s my two cents on this situation. Again, I’m not trying to convince people one way or another. You can like or hate any character you wish, It’s none of my business. I can see why people like Valentino, and I can see why people hate Alastor.

Can I just say how much emotion and weight this single frame has? I feel so damn sorry for Angel and Cherri’s situation hit so close to home having friends who’ve suffered from abuse, her expression says everything, she doesn’t know what to do or how to help but she can’t bear to see Angel in so much pain and distraught. She can’t imagine how Angel must feel and I really empathize with that feeling.

I’m so lucky to have not experienced assault in this degree and I send my deepest of condolences to those of you who have, I know this is just a drawing of some fictional characters but I really wanted to share my feelings with you, you’re loved, you’re not alone, you’re worthy of respect.

Redesigning Hazbin Hotel Characters #2:

Vaggie Motha

Honestly I really love her design! She doesn't have any problems like I had with Charlie's, and personally I don't get the hate on her X eye.

For this redesign I took as a base the "fallen angel" theory, trying to give more hints to this possible backstory by adding and changing some small details

I made her hair have more of an angel wing-like silhouette, I also like to imagine that when she gets really mad her gair spikes up and ressembles bat wings more, her original hair was really nice and could be really dynamic tho, next up I replaced her bow with a broken halo resembling devil horns, her original bow was cute but for these redesings I'm being alot more reluctant to give the characters bows/bowties.

I made her socks (?) and eye simpler an hopefully easier to animate, her original mismatching socks cluttered the desing a bit imo and the original eye seemed to have a bit of unnecessary detail that caused some inconsistency in the animation.

Finally I made her dress slightly ressemble more a traditional salvadorian dress as to make a reference to her nationality (something I'll also be doing with the future redesings).

And not to mention, shape language.

I made her consist of a lot of triangles and sharp shapes to contrast Charlie's mostly round structure and to help with her spice and fiery temper, though I wish I would've added More square-ish shapes as to represent her level-headedness.

So I saw a vídeo about redesigning Hazbin characters in my recomended and decided to check it out.

I thought the critiques were really good and justified, It gave me the idea of making some redesigns of the cast myself and finally try out what I've been learning about shape language.

So, before I actually watch the host make their own redesings, how about I make my own?

First Redesign:

Charlie Magne!

I love this mostly pure bean, but my biggest problem with her is that nothing about her design tells us she's a princess, we only know this cause characters in the show tell us, and we all know about show don't tell:

I made some simple changes to her suit to make her look more royal, gave her pony Tail a small crown accesory, made her bowtie resemble an apple (get it? Cause, she's Lucifer's daughter, the forbidden fruit... I'm not funny), gave her a tail and two little horns.

And lastly, gave her some shape language!her desing is really round and has a few circles behind the sketches, this is to help give of the vibe of her friendly, cute-ish and positive personality, with some triangles and slightly sharp edges to represent her not-quite-hiperactivity.

Overall, I love how this turned out, and feel like I improved on the design based on what I thought was missing or could be changed.

Started watching His videos again

Fuck, I have a crush on him-

I had an odd dream that a youtuber I used to watch was trans and that was basically it-

Well in reality the dream went:

The Youtuber had recently gotten a lot of his videos on the trending page and some people were annoyed but the general reacción was "lol I wonder how much money he's making now".

I thought "hey I haven't watched him in a long while let's check how he's doing", and so I did, I scrolled through some of his videos and eventually found one about binder tips and was like "wait what".

I dont really remember the details after that but basically he said he was trans and wanted to give some help to those earlier in their transition, I was both "aw that's sweet" and "wait I've known him for like 5 years what" and spent some time analizing the fact that a boderline icon of mine was trans.

Then I woke up.

Also I once had a dream I appeared in one of his livestreams and he noticed me but that's another story-
