HT: oh well, her full name is Simple Pile Of Leaves, I believe that should do the trick? I would say that she is a little...difficult, but you aren't exactly...welcoming either. N-no offense of course! But yes, I believe you may get along. Hopefully.
HT: ...and...could you perhaps...tell me some more about your...leeches?

S orry f...for the bot her...commun ications are un...unstable...f or now...
A connection... sure, why not
it's been a while since anyone's bothered to contact me
..probably due to their communication arrays breaking down. Is it really that hard to figure out how to repair yourself? You'd think someone would have done it and spread the word how to by now. Or maybe they did, and nobody received it because their arrays were too busy being broken

HT: Alright, alright, I understand you do not want to have anything more to do with or hear about our makers, you sound a lot like my neighbor Leaves. Sorry Anomaly. Is it alright if I refer to you as simply that or is it too confidential?
HT:...or perhaps you would like to be left alone now? This conversation was...pleasant. However, if you wish for it to come to a stop I can understand.

HT: o-oh I'm...sorry I...must have touched an exposed nerve, it wasn't my intention...
HT: I'm aware of our intended purpose and I personally do not accept it. I'd rather think about all the possibilities that are there, it makes me feel...grateful for my own existence. But I know I am not in the wrong, we behave much like them...some of us get upset, some are arrogant, some are...cruel. It's just the nature of sentience, I believe.

HT: Hah, hah. That's a silly thought! Of course I don't hate our creators, that would be rather...ironic and hypocritical. We are a lot more similar to them than most of us will ever admit. As far as I can remember, at least. My memory is not the best, did I mention it already? I believe so-
HT: What I mean with that is that I'm somewhat grateful to them, I believe. Afterall I would not be...alive without them. Lights used to tell me such lovely stories about them, too...

HT: Oh...I see. You must really dislike having to deal with people. I understand it, I get...nervous with some people too! I will say, I am a rather young iterator, the youngest in my group and because of that I never quite developed strong opinions on my creators. They all ascended at some point, and there weren't many of them in my city to begin with.
HT:...you seem to care about your senior, if you want them to stop working so much. It's...rather thoughtful of you.

HT: Ah, I...I see...about my own local group... We haven't talked in some cycles. We had a very...heated argument, I could never forget about that. Our senior is so obsessed with working for our makers that his structure is being neglected. It pains me, really.
HT: Another one of my neighbors has been awfully quiet, and I wonder whether they hold any ill thoughts against me or not but, may our makers be thanked, they've always been so calm. And then there's my closest neighbor. She despises me. This is all.
HT:...a-and about being named after a flaw I present, you are named after something that by definition deviates from what's normal. So perhaps we have something in common!

HT: Oh no, not quite! Well, perhaps just a little...there has to be a reason why I am named this way. If only I knew it- But, but this is just useless ramblings, sorry!
HT: What I meant is that I am...lonely? I think that's the correct word. It's odd I am aware, to simply look for a random connection with an unknown iterator, but can you blame me?
HT: So...Is there...anything you may be open to share? Perhaps about your local group? Sorry for the awkwardness! I haven't talked to someone in a long while admittedly.

[PUBLIC BROADCAST]--[HAZY TRUTHS]
HT: ...
HT: ...I have no idea how far this broadcast will reach and frankly I do not care about that. I just want to publicly let those thoughts out. I simply wish to...take a weight off my chest. If anyone in my local group receives this, and I know they will, I know you all have the same thoughts.
HT: I am immensely worried for Rivers Of Dazzling Lights' wellbeing. I am tired of keeping these thoughts for myself and moreover I am tired of falsely hoping for him to simply be unscathed, because I know he can't be. It's obvious to see, his structure is...falling apart. Slowly, yes, but it's getting more and more noticeable. And the cause is so clearly neglect, because of your obsession you have been ignoring the raising level of corrosion. I know you are going to receive this message Rivers, so please, say something. Anything. And if anyone else outside of this local group receives this broadcast, I am truly sorry for bothering.

*A small slugcat like creature enters SPOL's chamber. It possesses an abnormally long and thin tail with fin-like frills along the edge. Its skin appears smooth and sleek, but closer inspection reveals a multitude of small yet durable scales. There is no doubt that while originally suited for the ocean, its adaptations have offered it a unique advantage against the heavy downpours.*
*Already possessing the mark of communication, it looks at you expectantly.*
*SPOL, upon noticing the slugcat, turns to face it. She eyes the creature up and down inquisitively before deciding to get closer and converse.*
"Ah, here you are, at long last. What a peculiar little...thing, you are. I can only assume you to be Guiding Star's messenger, afterall I am not expecting any other guests. In that case, you must know already what is that I want from you."
*After all of that, she holds out one open hand towards the slugcat while holding up a purple data pearl with the other, in clear view.*

*After remaining quiet for a few more moments, the iterator decided to lower herself further down to effectively sit on the floor of her chamber.*
"Yes, yes, it's best if you rest well. It's vital information that you are carrying. Perhaps even far more important to me than to Guiding Light...You see...one of my neighbors also is having issues with quick degradation of their can due to neglect. And it's...partially my fault."
*Followed by yet another few seconds of quiet thought, SPOL shook her head and lifted herself above the floor.*
"Oh, why am I even telling you all of this. I don't expect you to understand it. Just be careful. And don't you dare eating any more of my neuron flies. It would not take me long to figure out how to un-engineer you."

"Excellent! Very well! Very...uh, wet, too."
*SPOL takes the teal pearl and after taking the time to read the attached message, she lowers herself further down to slowly (and even a bit hesitantly) caress the slugcat's head.*
"How pleasant of her to add an opening letter, I should have thought of that as well. But it's better not to have superfluous information among all of that important data. As for you little messenger, if you leave my chamber you'll surely be able to find a small room close by that I've repurposed to hold in some water for the occasion of your arrival."
*She goes quiet for a few seconds and glances around her chamber and then back to the creature in front of her.*
"...but perhaps you don't have to leave immediately. I could use some company."

SPOL: Very, very well. I will wait patiently for your messenger to reach me. I can assure you that by the time they will arrive to my can, not only I'll already have the data pearl ready for them to take but perhaps I'll also have the time to organize them a small spot with more familiar conditions. For them to recover faster, you see. Best wishes, truly.
[COMMUNICATIONS REQUEST] [GUIDING STAR] - [SIMPLE PILE OF LEAVES]
Hello? I was told your facility possesses a functional bio-engineering laboratory and I'd like your help with designing a purposed organism.
SPOL: ...Who was it. Who told you anything about me? And I'd say most importantly: who are you? I thought I made it clear to those two I wanted to be left alone. But oh, no sense complaining about them now. Are you not aware of the impact purposed organisms can have on the ecosystem? You better have a good reason for presenting such a bold request.

SPOL: I must say, that's a smart idea. The bodies of such creatures are already generally rather soft and somewhat resistant to pressure. Their affinity with water does however require some improvements. But nothing I cannot manage. The rust removal is definitely the trickiest feature to engineer, then again you are lucky you asked me, I can assure you nobody could be as efficient (and knowledgeable) as I am in this field.
