Dear Ellan, Happy Happy Birthday! <3  Grateful to God that He has blessed me with your presence in my life. Though we don't see each other as much, I hope for you to know that I'm eternally thankful for our friendship. :)  Thank you for always being there for me in ways I couldn't be there for myself, for always being there to listen to all my chuckles and for always believing in me no matter what challenge or struggle I had to overcome. Hi beb!!!! Happy happy birthday to you!!! I know you kinda maybe thought there was going to be something like this because of the textedit you saw on my laptop (ugh ellan bday 2017) but I hope that even if you kinda knew I had plans, I hope you were still able to enjoy whatever small things I planned for you today! Happy happy birthday again!

Sooo anyway, I chose this picture because I think screenshots represents something in our relationship that we were able to get past to be able to be celebrating your birthday today. I didn’t choose the photo to talk about the difficulties or troubles we experienced during our LDR, but I’m only using it as a representation of where we were and where we actually are today. Your birthday marks another 12 months that we’ve been together since we spent your last birthday; how your friends and I would hide in your CR as you came home, and how Pol kwento’ed a fake story to distract you from what was really happening. Fast forward another 12 months to the date and we have experienced so many things since then and much has changed in our relationship. I can gladly say that what are in a much deeper relationship than we were during your last birthday. I think since then, we’ve grown alot closer, alot more understanding and accepting of one another. We’ve shown each other more and more of ourselves as the months passed by and I’m so happy I can still call you my partner up to our second birthday together! I think I love you so much more deeper now than I did 12 months ago and I really have no regrets. Looking back at last year’s surprise salubong for you and this year’s, it was a deliberate choice for me to not plan anything with your barkada anymore because I kinda wanted to have a simple moment that we can call ours hehehehe.

Anyway, this is getting long na for a birthday greeting (next time na maybe the more cheesy stuff <3) but yeah I just wanna wish you a happy happy birthday again! I can only wish the best for you in your 22nd year here on earth. I don’t know bout you but I hope you’re feeling 22. HAHAH JKJK but yeah I wish upon you all the blessings and happiness that your heart desires this 22nd year in this life. I hope we can also have another good year together full of experiences, fun and memories we can look back on and be proud of in your next birthday! I love you so much bb! MWWWAAAH.

I remember during senior year when your Davao days--time spent with family--would always be sacred and non-negotiable, and rightfully so. Second, tbh I never thought we would get along because I knew from the start na magkaiba talaga tayo in general. However, life has its ways of proving me wrong anyway and I’m grateful because I found it to be such a blessing na naging friends tayo and that I got to confide to you sa mga kababalaghan sa life especially early on in our adventure in COA. I’ll always remember the talk we had in Starbucks one night, which was probably the first time we really had that good and serious #realtalk :)) Thanks for all the memories! I’m also happy that you stayed muna in Davao and took care of yourself because it was about time you took a break from being a proud member of #TeamNoSleep :)) May mga kuwento ako for you so I hope magkita tayo soon! My earliest memory of you, even though we didn’t know each other then, was on the Ateneo batch 2016 group (noong may chat pa kasi di pa umabot ng 2,500 members or smtg), when someone said you had a cool name kasi may Blue, and it was their fave color (tbh I wanted to say that din, pero naunahan ako HAHAHA AMP). BUT YEY I FINALLY MET YOU (through Gelo pa talaga), and I’m super glad to have you as a friend, especially through college because I had a little piece of South of the South of Davao right in there Katip. 

Thank you for all the chikkas, the inumans, and the sitting in your room watching O Shopping these past 4 years. I know mej nagkulang ako sa life when aNJAN KA LANG DI PA AKO NAKABISITA ANUNA? So... kahit na hindi ko pa nababasa yung birthday greeting mo sakin, I do hope that you read through this.

Unang una sa lahat, maligayang kaarawan sa pinaka-burgis na kaibigan ko mula sa Davao. Sana’y matupad mo ang lahat ng mga pangarap mo sa darating na taon, at sana’y lalo pang yumabong ang buhay mo dahil deserve mo naman iyon.

Tatandaan mo palagi na nandito lang ako palagi para asarin ka tungkol sa Spurs at tungkol sa lahat ng mga gusto mong gawin sa buhay. Nandito si Cedric, para palagi kang merong “devil’s advocate” na sisira sa araw mo. Pero, alam mo namang ginagawa ko iyon para magkakulay ang buhay mo. Pangit naman kung puro supportive mga tao sayo, diba? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Happy birthday, Ellan! Will never forget that night during FormSem when we had the first of our many, many life talks/chismisan/rant sessions.

It’s been a while and I miss you and reminding you to take care of yourself. BUT, FYI, I still read Twitter a lot, and I’m glad you seem to have been taking care of yourself more! Keep it up, Miss Sobrang Blooming!

Know that I am always just a text or call away for anything. I may not be the best at keeping in touch and may not always be around, but my friendship is forever (hahaha), whether you like it or not! I will always be proud to have met you and gone through so much together. :)

I wish your wonderful soul all the best things in the world. You might be one of the strongest people I ever met in college, but never forget that on your moments of weakness, the people who love and care for you will come through. Don’t you doubt it.
