with his troublesome streak , rowan have had terrible luck at tricking people into drinking his concoction of the night , and it doesn't include those who are already drunk — their disappointing reactions blinded by the invitation for more consumption of alcoholic drinks offered to them. no , he wanted a near sober mind and someone unfamiliar with rowan's idea of fun. freshmen are the easier targets , "see , it's tradition , a timber creek special. you wouldn't want to miss a taste of our school's specialty drink , do you?" he peers at the person beside him as he mixes the drinks on the table for them to see before handing it to them. "i'm rowan , by the way. and no , not a creep , just a senior with exemplary taste for mixed drinks."

the quad is at its busiest today it seems , and quite his luck that despite his staggering tall height , rowan had been able to hide his flask of hard drink as he cruises the sea of students. though it might have helped that his flask looked like an ordinary red bull can , everyone's best bet was always to remain suspicious of anything rowan related because who would he be if not nothing short of ordinary? "let me guess , it's too early to drink , rowan , you'd get caught. is it safe to assume you haven't pursued a lighten up course during the summer , micah?" he teases as soon as he spots the familiar face , taking a swig from his can with a smug look. "how early is too early , anyway? hypothetically asking that is , you know , in case i do get caught."

rowan was in no position to elicit laughter at the expense of peyton's struggles when he himself had his manly physique bruised earlier today having been given up halfway on his move to the blue den. but as he grabs the box gestured to him along with the scattered pieces he had taken with him , a teasing smirk plays on his lips as he meets peyton. "you're seriously not thinking of carrying all of that in one trip , are you? i know you're in the presence of a god , but even i rested." he releases a sigh as soon as he was finished relishing on the amusing display and grabs more boxes from her control ... or lack thereof. "how many cups of caffeine have you consumed today, peyton? one , two , ten? it's too early to be in that phase , don't you think?"

if someone were to ask, peyton would easily lie about how many coffees she'd already had today. she didn't want to admit it but deep down, she knew she overdid it. her defense? she needed it. so it was no surprise she was felt a little jittery and was starting to panic a little. there were a few things she'd forgotten to bring in from her car and in an attempt to get it all in one trip, she accidentally left a trail of her belongings scattered in the hallway leading to her room. she was trying to balance everything out when a pair of footsteps was heard behind her and she quickly turned, not missing the way something else just fell out of the box in her hand, and smiled at the face in front of her. "could you, uh, maybe..." she didn't know how to explain herself and knew she probably looked a mess. the word she was looking for was help, but it was hard to get it out. "just a few things over there or uh, maybe you could.. hold this for a second?" she gestured to the box in hand, unsure what to do.

as much as rowan didn't want to admit it , one of the first persons he sought in the crowded halls of the blue den was kennedy. and it had taken everything ( 5 minutes ) in rowan to search for her room and best believe he makes it known , "while i know my presence can be staggering sometimes , you'd really ought to live 3 floors away from me?" he dramatized , very much aware of how she didn't have any say in it. "i think you owe me a drink tonight , and you being my favorite redhead can't be held as an excuse against me."

it comes to nobody's surprise that rowan had zero clue of the names of people he'd be rooming with for the school year , and for a man of grave reputation , he'd assumed only the worst. but alas , there he was sitting comfortably on the couch , faced with a few nights ago's dinner disaster , and unlike everybody else , surprised , "well , well , i know i have left quite the impression on you , but i didn't think you would have it in you." rowan's smirk so heavy on his mouth as he continues , "stalking me? on the first day? have you fallen for me already?"

her feet quickly carried her down the hall, eyes scanning for suite 301. the excitement of finding out who she was going to be rooming with for the year making her move faster. she hoped it would have been with nora but she had already passed her friend settling in on the second floor. turning the knob, she entered what would be her home for the year and stared at a familiar face. her excitement quickly dissipated. "no." the only word to leave her lips before stepping back out to double check the room number to ensure she was in the right place. @hcneycomb

being the youngest son of the conglomerate im industries , rowan believes he had dodged a bullet. being the youngest meant lesser responsibilities , freer choices , and a wider array of possibilities — and for the most part of his childhood , though he still was subjected to intense private lessons , he'd never felt the pressure weigh on his shoulders as opposed to how it was with his older sister.

rowan never took his life seriously. lessons begrudgingly attended in the mornings , sports in the afternoon , sneaking off in between doing god knows what , parties at night , and never coming back home until a week later to repeat the process. he was a nuisance as a teen , even more so as a young adult as he began to show signs of not growing out of his teenage mischief. his parents had thought that if they had just allowed rowan to do whatever he wanted at the beginning , he'd grow tired of it and become considerate , but they thought wrong.

after high school , rowan got into princeton for sports science. though it was never in his agenda to go to college , his father stroke him a deal of consenting him to study any degree just as long as he finishes it , and of course , a few calls to his esteemed princeton colleagues were made. his grades weren't the best , but he's a talented swimmer. and for a few months , everyone swore he'd finally stick with it , that is until he suddenly dropped out , went backpacking around the world doing god knows what - a running theme - and called it taking a gap year ... or two.

he had cut all means of communication with his family for almost two years. although his mother became a consistent bearer of news during that time , it was also how he knew his sister had gotten seriously ill , and that coming home was of grave matter.

rowan's relationship with his father was strained , and with his sister's inability to continue working in the company , frustratingly agreeable had only become rowan's response to his father's demands.

timber creek university is his mother's alma mater , and it was also with her encouragement that rowan decided to pursue a bachelor's degree there. a legacy — as they called him , but rowan tends to hide the minor detail behind his facetious charm and outgoing demeanor.

he rarely discusses anything regarding his family's business , and if asked regarding his relations to the im industries , he reasons that most korean-americans have identical surnames anyway.

despite finally adhering to a singular spot for nearly four years , rowan can still be quite the man that he was two years ago : a fool who runs his mouth , thoughts leaving his mind without slightest bit of consideration , increasingly dramatic over even the most minute account , and overly troublesome. anyone that do not wish to have business with him ought to avoid this pest.
