Blair Coron - DO/RE
The debut EP from abstract art loving Blair Coron is a musical masterpiece.
Glorified, cinematic, sensational and wickedly instrumental.
Pulsating bass piano in opening track ‘Kandinsky’ provides exemplary foundations for tense escalated ear bending piano riffs. 100 hands tripping over themselves to fulfil a mind boggling top line melody. Blair’s ability to paint light and dark on a score sheet really is evident from note one.
‘Arpeggios For Salvino’ is an honourable arpeggio infected score which like ‘Kandinsky’ effortlessly carries a story. This number has a gleeful feel, almost like an ascendence to a greater being. It is completely engrossing and Coron’s scrupulous attention to dynamisms coincide f*cking amazingly.
‘Haiku’. Track three is so minimalist in it’s infancy. Strained but delicate, tentative but assured. The right hand melody leaves us ...

‘Abstract #32′.
‘a dissonant form of monotone drones,  and a brilliant explosion of architectural abstraction’
An intriguing fusion of spoken word and a reinvention of beat poetry. ‘Abstract #32′ is a showpiece which illustrates Blair’s deep knowledge of language, music and art.
‘Inspired by an unresolved cadence’
The final track ‘Arabesque’, I’ll leave you with.
DO/RE me fa so lovely is this EP.

Sea Bed - Geneva
My hands down favourite artist from The Great Escape Festival 2016 have dropped a new track. ‘Geneva’
If you don’t know about Sea Bed, then shame on you. ‘Geneva’ is another mint demonstration of intuitive electronic music of the highest order.
Tumblr media
https://www.facebook.com/seabedband/photos
‘It’s all for you.. Geneva, Geneva, I let you down, Geneva, Geneva, I let you down”
It would be easy to think that the heavy electronic production gives a false illusion of what Sea Bed sound like live... YOU ARE WRONG. Witnessing the spellbinding performance at Brighton’s Shipwright Yard back in May really was a highlight of my #TGE16 experience.
They show an unmeasurable attention to detail when it comes to dynamics. This is evident in their recorded material as well as live performances. ‘Geneva’ is 4 minutes 34 seconds of pure luscious gold.
Quality, captivating, experimental, mesmeric... the list goes on. I do not have enough words to outline my high hopes and love for this band.

Velveteen Riot
Alternative surf pop that’ll blow your socks off. 🏄💥
Imagine Tame Impala, Crass and Pere Ubu ran away together and somehow breaded four children who took their musical ethos and baked them all together into a brand new band.
The Glasgow 4-piece released ‘Ophelia’ back in July. Haunting vocals, intentionally lackadaisical rhythmic beats and heavy guitar reverb result in an totally independent sound. Reflective yet aspirational, laid back, yet tight as a tiger.

Please check these guys out ASAP, they have an upcoming gig at Glasgow’s Classic Grand on November 19th.

JMR - Closer
Mind bogglingly talented American drops single ‘Closer’ from debut EP ‘Rituals’. Released back in March on Universal Music Group’s branch Republic Records, ‘Rituals’ is bursting with slick RnB grooves and soul trembling vocals.
Tumblr media
https://www.facebook.com/jmrsongs/photos
Joshua Michael Robinson, oozes soul and passion in this track and throughout the entirety of ‘Rituals’. Opening ‘Closer’ with delicate beating on the guitar;
“I’ve been waiting for you, for my sympathy I’ve been waiting for you, for my clarity”
The initial rasp in JMR’s voice adds a tantalising sexual quality before a simple bassy drum beat kicks in with a cheeky open-close hi hat. Drums drop, finger clicks and guitar lick take over. All come together in time for JMR to sensually hit out;
“I just want you closer, I just want you closer I just want you closer yeah, I just want you closer”
[Instrumental] - cue involuntary grooving along to hypnotising synth/brass. You can’t deny it so groove. 💃

The 21st State
Glasgow beauts ‘The 21st State’ announced last week they’ve been recording in the studio this summer which has resulted in new material being unveiled next week. In celebration of my excitement at this news, I’m looking back at their first EP ‘Stepping Stones’ and making perhaps some prophecies about their next release.
Tumblr media
http://www.facebook.com/The21stState/photos 👆 See what I mean about ‘Glasgow beauts’
‘Intro’ - 22 second episode of some drone, dissonant, weird electro vibe tone.
‘Stepping Stones’ - Slow airy start with desirable guitar melodies providing a love base for Andrew to gently kick in ‘Step by step, we move along’. Craig contributes some muted harmonised backings. Andrew’s tone generates a powerful sense of honesty repeating the phrase ‘I hope I find my way... (x4). Not long in, we get that ‘Fatherson’ pause and crash of symbols; bursting into chorus with
“Stepping on stepping stones, using them to, Guide me home, to let me see what’s on the horizon”
‘Jigsaw’ - More prominent guitar riffs and rippling tom playing come to light in track three. Guitar conversation is exchanged throughout and emits somewhat a Reverend and the Makers vibe.
‘Thousand Miles Away’ - Opening with scenic drumming, kind of militant like a ship coming in. Climatic build up; aggressive vocals; powerful tight drumming; commanding guitar playing. Nothing beats a bit of scat - it’s always a crowd pleaser as punters can sing along and this one with an abundance of ‘woo oohs’ and ‘daaa ra ra rad ra raas’.
‘Colours’ - Much lighter than it’s predecessors, ‘Colours’ casts a much brighter aurora. There’s a tenderness to the vocals on this track - a lovely touch of diversity. A doubling hi-hat rhythm exudes a funkier flow.
“Take it in your stride Show them all your colours Take it in your side Show them all your colours”
‘Waiting’ - Fast paced from the get go. The boys somehow manage to pull together a plethora of influences into this track. ‘Waiting’ showcases a number of dynamic and tempo shifts. This is not an easy feat so credit to them.
⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
I’m super stoaked to hear what’s next for The 21st State having performed a couple of dates with Only Shadows and opened up King Tut’s Summer Nights; they’ve got a bright future I reckon. Keep your eyes peeled for their impending release this week 👀. I’m hoping to hear a bit more of that smoother, funkier tone yet not losing their symbolic punk edge.

Vagabond Specter
You cannot ignore the quality and variety of music emerging from Europe right now with artists like Zara Larsson (Sweden), Manderely (Spain), Lakeway (Ukraine) & Christina and The Queens (France). I got another one to add... Vagabond Specter.
Hailing from Ukrainian capital Kiev, the unique ‘indie-rock’ 4 piece are set to make their space age mark on the music scene with an impending release. How to describe VS... it’s near impossible.
‘Half A Billion Miles’ is a concoction of crazy good electronic instrumentation and convictive vocals. Melancholy, mesmerising, meaningful and magical.
https://soundcloud.com/vagabondspecter/01-half-a-billion-miles-1
Tumblr media
They’re ability to manifest this space age, electronic indie rock is so refreshing. There are moments in ‘Half A Billion Miles’ where the instrumentation curves more towards specific cultural music genres with sitars and veenas. It’s incredibly hard to keep up with the musical apparatus used!
We’re super excited to hear what’s next from these talented chaps.

Club Drive - EP Launch
What do you get if you take 6 amazingly accomplished musicians, who just so happen to be extremely handsome... and pap on a show in a sweatbox in Islington? ... (continue reading to find out)
Club Drive launched theirl EP on Thursday evening with an exceptionally intimate gig at The Islington, London. Oozing charisma, the desirable 4-piece (6-piece live) pulled out all the stops to please the predominantly female audience. They 10000000% succeeded.
Tumblr media
https://www.facebook.com/ClubDriveBand/photos
Second track in, frontman Aaron addressed the crowd and announced the reason they had decided to host this gig. In celebration of their release ‘Dangerous’, a 4 track EP consisting of unruly catchy electro pop hits.
“My minds spinning and I’m so outta breath, Am I losing my head, can we take it slow-oh-oh”
Their tightness and confidence was evident from the get go, with both Aaron and Tommy playing to the crowd. A gaggle of girls metres from the stage were beside themselves. They put in an excellent shift singing every word in time with Club Drive - good effort girls!
‘Overthrown’ was next up. Another stellar performance, with Aaron leaning over monitors showcasing his beautiful knees through ripped skin tight black jeans. Steve and Christian provided excellent foundational backing vocals. It opened the falsetto door for Aaron to walk right though and boy did he smash that falsetto.
Before we were treated to a beautiful duet from just Aaron and Tommy, the boys whipped out a showstopper when they sung a couple of lines from songs by R’nB greats;
👉 Ignition - R Kelly
👉 Say My Name - Destiny’s Child
👉 No Scrubs - TLC
Tumblr media
Aaron and Tommy perform ‘What Happened’ to spellbound crowd.
Next up, another track off the EP ‘Leaving’ - reminiscent of Maroon 5 and somewhat new Gwen Steffani stuff. In many ways, Club Drive draw similarities from the American heartthrobs both in musicality and appeal. Sick grooves made this one impossible to stand still to. They’re rockier/punkier influences made them more unique and drew them away from simple pop music.
‘You’ was the penultimate song before crowd favourite ‘Spare Time’ closed the show. What made Club Drive even more charming and lovable was their willingness to stay behind and chat to ecstatic fan girls and boys. I even admit, I’m officially a fan girl - bought a t-shirt. Oh... and everyone got a free copy of the EP.

KIN
Fresh oot the oven today, KT Tunstall’s fifth LP packs an almighty uplifting punch👊.
Tumblr media
Turbulent years for the relentlessly talented songstress are left behind as she’s back and has conveyed a sense of revival and inspiration with this newest release.
The traditional sound of KT Tunstall that we all know and love so much from tracks like ‘Black Horse and the Cherry Tree’, ‘Suddenly I See’ and ‘Otherside Of The World’, are still very much in fruition. Powerful beatings of the acoustic guitar infused with more electronic instrumentation mark a musical revolution for KT. Tie that together with her rustic, husky, commanding vocals, we got ourselves a winner.
‘Evil Eye’ is a show stopper. The climatic build to huge instrumentation at the end including woodwind and additional vocals.
“See you don’t listen, to every word that I say Kinda explains it all in some peculiar way I know it, you know it There’s no distance gonna keep you safe”
The album in it’s entirety evokes a message of ‘awakening’. This is encapsulated in ‘Two Way’. A scintillating duet featuring KT and one of the UK’s most loved artists is a stormer. The timbre of their voices seem to made for one another.
“Dont do what you always do and ask for company I’ve been in myself and I’m not gonna follow Hide yourself away make light of the situation It’s gotta be two way or it’s never gonna work”
‘KIN’ takes us down a notch, with lovely string accompaniments KT Tunstall’s voice in tried and tested. In this track, she showcases the multiple vocal tones she has at her disposal. The conviction in her voice is reminiscent of those southern Nashville stars back the 60s.
Our verdict; ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Well in lass!

Nadia Rae - I Am A Warrior
An exciting soulful prospect rising from North London; Rae exudes uplifting, angelic, percussive R&B.
Her 2016 release ‘I Am A Warrior’ features powerful emotive tracks. Spellbinding track ‘Surrender’  is effortless cool, calm but damn right deep. Solum strings and piano accompaniment lay down the premise for Nadia to boast an impressive vocal;
“I wanna throw in the towel, cause I surrender
Put up my white flag, cause you’re a better contender
I wanna break down these walls that your love has been building
Cause I just wanna be free”
This beautiful ballad is a 3-way marriage of soulful heartfelt lyrics, delicate instrumentation and classic laid back R&B. With a talent to texture notes Beverly Knight style, her ability is indisputable. Nadia’s connective, personable  lyrics in ‘Surrender’ really come to life in the chorus;
“So I surrender my love, surrender this love,
Cause you are my drug and you’re tearing me down”
Other tracks including ‘Puppet Master’ continue that heartbreak vibe. There’s a sense of empowerment in Rae’s vocal performance that eludes to her being better off without this negative influence raining as she repeats ‘You’ll never, you’ll never, you’ll never keep me down’
Please stop what you’re doing and get this EP checked out now. If you want to hear something so pure in honesty and raw emotion; this is for you. Follow the link below and get ‘I Am A Warrior’ downloaded and added to your bank of tunes!

The Claramassa - Being Alive EP
Debut EP from sound-sculpturing Glasgow 6-piece The Claramassa is one that tightly knits all that euro-euphoric electro and infamous Scottish indie-rock. What is in the air in Scotland? It’s continuously churning out countless brilliant musicians & bands, and I’m tipping these guys to really grab attentions of music lovers in the near future.
With a distinctive set up which includes 3 lead female vocalists, The Claramassa evoke a unique vibe right from the get go. Their debut 4 track EP captures fine tuned harmonised vocals, powerful electronic rhythms and rapturous phrasing.
‘Life is to Live’ is a solid opener with delicate tendencies from Joanne, Lisa and Caitlin. They each show confidence in their own sound, but with that can intertwine, bend, cross over, mix with each other’s vocal parts. Kris adds another dimension when he crashes in with a contrasted rockier voice with;
“Everybody asks what is it for”
“Life is to live” replies the female replies.
‘Shine Like A Star’ is much similar to ‘Life is to Live’ in that it’s beginning lets the girls open with little accompaniment. The prominence on synth and heavier guitar is far greater in this track. There is a magical instrumental section which gives the platform for explorative synth playing; before dropping out and Lisa, Joanne and Caitlin pounce in with their pin point 3 part harmonised;
“Let me, let me, let me shine like a star”
More depth is added as the song draws to a close with powerful rhythm playing from Anthony and Martyn and Kris adding his masculine bass vocals to the chorus.
I’ve given you a taster of what’s included in this EP so go check out the other two tracks for yourself! Follow the link below;

Mayor Stubbs
***EXCLUSIVE***
The Cathouse was the inspiration behind toe tapper ‘Abandon Ship’. WHO KNEW.
Tumblr media
A first for Mayor Stubbs but by jings, what a success this live streaming sesh was. I tuned in just in time for a new track - of which the name has totally escaped me. The Mayor’s interactions with the 8 going on 80 million watchers was refreshing. As one hilarious viewer requested ‘Wonderwall’, and it was met with a quite polite ‘Fuck. Off’. An illuminating performance of ‘Everything is Illuminated’ was followed by the classic ‘Abandon Ship’, a masterclass on intricate, complex, mesmerising guitar playing.
News of a new EP was passively put in, then Matt discussed his songwriting procedures to which he was trying to strive away from the horrible trapped demons in his head as he didn’t want to seem like the most depressing guy in the world. I guess his message was that he finds writing lyrics the toughest part to his incredible musicianship. You wouldn’t think that though.
‘Satellites and Meteorites’, a quite romanticising ballad where again the Mayor displays astonishing guitar playing grasping onto the often underestimated effects of dynamics. At points, he played so quietly I literally lifted my computer to my ear... (okay maybe I didn’t but it was that delicate).
A wee bit of self promotion at the end of the stream saw Mayor Stubbs encourage us faithfuls over to his bandcamp page where we could acquire some quality MS stuff.
‘Don’t listen to anything else cause everything else is shite... especially everything else’
‘Spiderhands’ or as I like to say ‘Spiderhauns’ was a climatic finisher. It’s like Mayor Stubb’s equivalent to Rey Mysterio’s 619. There’s no better way to finish. I’ve not seen hands move that fast since I saw my mum whisk a cake mix with a manual whisk in 1998.
Mayor Stubbs and his team Andy and Lewis did a grand job on this one. It was full of great tunes and great banter. Seeing MS really let his (beard) hair down was nice - dropping a few ‘fucks’ and ‘shites’ in there. I’m hoping for another one very soon.

Man of Moon
Ahead of the Edinburgh pair’s Medicine EP launch at King Tut’s on Friday, I’m looking at two of their already released tracks and making wild predictions as to what might be held in their new release.
I’ve got that tingly leg feeling about Man of Moon’s sure to be gripping performance this Friday after catching Chris and Mikey at LP Records back on RSD. Their set exemplified uniformity, precision and superlative musicianship, not to mention a cheeky little cover of Django Django.
Tumblr media
The Road
If we were to use our conviction monitor and measure both Mickey and Chris’s convicting capabilities, it would be off the scale. ‘The Road’ is a masterclass in pin point rock, electronic and sci-fi psychedelia. The lads effortlessly combine soaring guitar solos with acute syncopated drum beats, simultaneously building to climatic peaks where heavier instrumentation takes the limelight.
“Slowly waiting for this day to come,  Slowly waiting for this day to come Take your eyes up off the road just for a little while Take your eyes up off the road just for a little while”
https://soundcloud.com/melodic-records/man-of-moon-the-road
Sign
There’s definitely something Mao militant about Man of Moon’s approach to music. This was symbolised at their RSD display when their opening performance of ‘Sign’ felt as though it was going to smash all the glass within a 50ft radius. ‘Sign’ encompasses a drone-esque character which fits mystically with Man of Moon’s stoner vocals.
“Just waiting for you to give me a sign, Just give me a sign”
‘Sign’ comprises a section where the entire rhythm section drops out approx. 3.10 seconds in. What follows can only be described as ‘holy shit’. The culmination of a climatic two minute build up is just... urrrgh, too goddamn good.
https://soundcloud.com/melodic-records/man-of-moon-sign-2
I’m predicting some mind-blowingly amazing tracks on Man of Moon’s release of Medicine. If their live performances are anything to go on, then man are we in for some roomscape electronic wonderfulness.

Steve Grozier @ The Hug & Pint
“What do you call a large pile of cats?
Tumblr media
- A Meaowtain” Copyright courtesy of Steve Grozier.
Steve Grozier’s ability to evoke a fresh Nashville sound with Scottish tendencies is really enrapturing. His groomed ginger beard, checked shirt, boot cut jeans and acoustic guitar took to the Hug and Pint’s stage where sat a solitary barstool. “I’m going to play some songs about feelings and stuff like that”.
Opening with a track that showcased bare, stripped and pure vocals. It pulled influences from blues and exuded the aurora of a weary soul. Steve’s tendency to close his eyes whilst singing really hit home to me that there was authentic meaning behind every lyric.
“these moments do not last, I miss the friend and I miss the way he sings”.
Up next, a personal favourite of mine ‘Take My Leave’. This track features in Grozier’s latest release ‘Keep It Creative Sessions’. Hearing this track live reiterated those feelings I had when I first heard it - relatable, personable and understandable. Through Steve’s stellar performance, his beautiful lines creative vivid imagery where we can cast off our minds to ‘broken down arcades’, ‘empty streets and railway station lines’, ‘gravel paths that leads to [my] home’. There’s a gorgeous light melodic accompaniment on ‘Take My Leave’.
A great thing about Steve was his interactions with the H&P crowd. His music was very solum but he played off that;
“I know things have been crazy upbeat so I’m going to slow things down. Here’s a sadder and slower one” - spoken drenched in sarcasm, a few chuckles echoed around the room.
A few tracks down the line, it came to light that we were standing in the presence of a great cat joke connoisseur. These intermissions where Steve would talk to the audience were fantastic as a way to humanise him. If anything I’d say longer sets and more cat jokes!
Before closing his performance with a mesmerising ‘Ringing of the Bells’ performance, Steve delighted the audience with a Ryan Adam’s cover ‘Lucky Now’. Another exhibition of minimalist guitar accompaniment and a believing vocal performance.
Steve can, without a doubt, hypnotise a room full of strangers with his empathetic songs. Beautiful vocal characteristics like bending notes and soft vibrato add to the authentic credible country vibes.

The Assist - Trouble
Debut EP from exciting well-formed Walsall lads.
Having heard leading track ‘Love’ a few months back (I’m a really keen bean), I’ve been patiently waiting for a follow up from this fine tuned foursome... and before you could say supercalifraga... here it is!
Tumblr media
Image Copyright  The Assist Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/TheAssistBand/
1.LOVE
Supernatural chordial lead ins and muted jungle beats immediately entice you the Brummy charm of The Assist. That sexy Midlands twang is irresistible. They knit together funky bass lines with contagiously catchy guitar riffs. Leading man Mickey sets things off showcasing his extensive range. Every word dripping with conviction. Powerful electronic guitar effects work marvellously with this one - adding more dimension to those build-ups to rocking choruses.
2. Fashion
The Walsall lads take it down a notch for this one. Slower, grungey distorted guitar licks get this track off the mark. Quicker than you could say ‘Quidditch’, The Assist incorporate multiple tempo change ups to keep us listeners on our toes. Each one is completed with pin point precision. It’s presto, moderato, legato, adagio...We love it. Nicely co-ordinated instrumentals between guitar and drums give a nice break, before Mickey comes back in with some healthy vocals.
3. Nyabinghi
My fave. Suitably perhaps, hearing this laid back ‘dreamy’ number in the same week as 420 celebrations is not a coincidence. The self proclaimed track that pushes the message to ‘not take yourself too seriously’ is a real memorable one. Uncontrollable urges to ‘Bob’ the head are infectious. They’re a real chilled dragging feel to ‘Nyabinghi’ - reggae, loversrock influences.
“Despite what they believe, they won’t let you see it, Dignity is real though won’t show the feeling”
4. Things Get Good
“Live your life” resonates with strong reverb and echo and in come the rhythm section. A beaut ballady chorus with nice keys accompaniment is really welcoming. There’s a real sense of unity with this track, like mince and tatties, Dick & Dom, bra and pants, chips and cheese. The Midland’s diction really comes to light in ‘Things Get Good’ with more minimal melodies. Of course there’s some tempo changes and double time in there for good measure.
5. Time
Some wicked do-wop guitar opens before a sneaky sample for Dario G’s old time fave ‘Sunchyme’. I’ll leave you to make up your own mind up but I’m not afraid to say... I am digging it. There’s a real euphoric vibe with ‘Time’ particularly when the keys come in for some detrimental power chords. I envision the crowds starting ‘the bouncy’ at live performances of ‘Time’. It’s got that effect I reckon.
“Cause time’s on my side, I smile at my wrist”
The Assist have ordained the beautiful marriage of indie and funk. The ceremony was beautiful with appearances from reggae, soul, electronica, groove, alternative and dance-rock. I say, stop whatever you’re doing and get ‘Trouble’ downloaded. You’ll give Churchill a run for his money with the head bobbing that’ll be occurring.

Mickey 9s - Ghosts
“All haunted by the ghosts of the Mujahideen”
Tumblr media
Image Copyright ‘Mickey 9s’ Facebook https://www.facebook.com/mickey9s
Glasgow’s exuberant dangerously talented quartet Mickey 9s have a new surprising release - Ghosts. To try and summarise Mickey 9s is like like trying make an orange taste like a pizza - pretty much impossible so I’m not going to try. All you need to know is this turning track tells the horrifying truths that are currently ongoing in the Middle East. Despite many people trying their upmost to avoid the global refugee crisis (yes it’s global), Mickey 9s lay out it plain and clear. Unapologetic accuracies are sung with dispositions of heartfelt sincerity.
On the sand was a fat man On the sand was a fat red white man On the beach was a black boy On the beach was a thin dead black boy
Stark comparisons are drawn of those worries of the violated and vulnerable caught up in terror VS the cynical, senseless, almost comical ‘worries’ of those in the western world.
A far stretch from their normal foot stomping, hip wiggling, jangly power music, ‘Ghosts’ shows a depth to Mickey 9s music that I’ve yet to come across. Far more simplistic melodies are exuded, only overshadowed by brilliantly phrased guitar solos towards the end. It’s simpleness melodically catapults the importance of the lyrics.  It’s original yet outraging, stimulating but shocking, honest but horrifying.
To get the full blast of ‘holy shit, this is really happening here’, watch the accompanying frightening video on Mickey 9s FB. It shows, to the heartbreaking extent, the struggles and catastrophic ordeals that people of our human race are having to face. Boys, girls, men, women, young, old, rich, poor, healthy, weak, black, white, we are one race. The video highlights those horrible characteristics that which dominate our news headlines on a daily basis... just watch it, okay.
So what is the moral? What is the moral? I don't know We'll find out tomorrow Read it in tomorrow's horrorshow

TinyVinyl @ Jacked Up
Rising Glasgow indie group Tiny Vinyl shine at Jacked Up in aid of SAMH.
Tumblr media
The Flying Duck proved a surprisingly quality venue for Jacked Up’s second outing of the year with Tiny Vinyl being joined by fellow Glaswegians Das Plastixx and Edinburgh’s The Rich.
Following a thumping opening set from increasingly popular The Rich, Tiny Vinyl took to the Duck’s stage. Their opening number highlighted some sweet ass rim shot work and closed snare beating from drummer Rooster, who was sporting a bold Cambodian aztec vest. Calum lay down deep, purposeful vocals - they were executed with real authenticity. Balanced build ups and Arctic Monkey-eque guitar hooks got the 100 odd Jacked Up goers bobbing and really fired up. Second on the setlist was a sumptuous demonstration of Calum’s tentative dancing and delicate back up harmonies from Neil - a là Magic Numbers.
The set continued with frequent shoutouts for the Scottish Association for Mental Health (big ups).
The mesmerising dad dancing of Calum continued with groovy funkadelic number. A real patron pleaser where biblical ‘Wooh ohhh ohohohohhs’ resonated around the Duck’s bunker. Couple that with the cow bell beating and rumba rhythms that Rooster was whipping out, it really went down a belter.
TinyVinyl have a capability to mash up all sorts of genres. It’s like they’re making a big cake, with indie, pop, soul, funk and alternative rock contributors to the baking mix. I love cake, you love cake, everybody loves cake.
The cake was topped with a thick dollop of buttercream icing when the boys bowed out for the night with a mash up incorporating Franz’s Take Me Out with one of their own tracks. Lesson 1, on how to please a Scottish crowd right there.
