New Bike Day (round 2). I underestimated how rough the streets around me were and the other bike couldn’t hack it. Returned it today. Found a city bike with some more gravel/mountain in its DNA that can handle my semi-industrial corner of the city. Still cute tho 💁‍♀️

Look at my beautiful bike that I get to pick up on Friday!! I’m gonna ride it home from the shop. It’s about 6 miles with some small hills. I’ll get to see how it rides on longer distances, but isn’t it stunning??

I cannot stress enough that this is a key component of Trump's appeal

10 long years ago, Trump went down the stupid escalator and was as openly ugly, rude, and anti-social as possible. People admired him for it. They liked that he faced no consequences for it. They wanted to be like him. He allowed them to take off the mask. Every time Trump shits on all sense of decency, his cum stain supporters cheer because they want to be rude and horrible to their enemies (Democrats and minorities). People are much openly meaner now than they were 10 years ago, and it's because Trump and the GOP have not only normalized anti-social behavior, but made it political praxis. To put it simply, Trump being a fundamentally bad person is appealing to his supporters because every single one of them is also a bad person.

She’s here. I rode her 7 miles home. I had trainings I had to get done this afternoon, so I couldn’t get another ride in, but I did swap over my rack and stick a pannier on so I’m ready for the next ride 😍

When a patient got (understandably) upset and emotional getting a cancer diagnosis after being told an initial biopsy was non malignant, instead of apologizing and helping to soothe the patient, the doc was like “you knew there were two biopsies!” The patient (again, UNDERSTANDABLY) got pissed at blame being pushed on HIM and got more upset. The doc then said “ok, if you aren’t going to listen to what’s going to happen then I’ll just tell her [me, the nurse] and she can tell you.” Then she proceeded to ignore him and talk to me in front of this guy’s face, and LEFT. So I had to be the one to calm the patient down, apologize for the way everything was handled, help him understand what was coming next in terms of tests and specialists and help him call his family.

I was LIVID. Who does that???? What kind of petty and unprofessional behavior is that?????

My shift last night ended with a surgeon telling me to stop bothering him with every little symptom a patient was experiencing post-op and that there were other providers I could take these issues too. And like!!!!! I did! Every time I asked about x, y, or z, the other providers directed me to the surgeon!!!!! I don’t want to be talking to you, asshole, but I have to!!!

I am so ready to be done with work. This is my 5th shift in 6 days and I am exhausted. It’s been especially emotionally and mentally draining this week as twice (TWICE!!!) I have ended up being the liaison between pissed off and upset patient/family members and a team of 3-4 doctors.

Oh I am so fucking mad at doctors today!! Can you all just TALK TO EACH OTHER??? And can you do it before you talk to my patient, give him bad news, and then don’t have all the info/say “dr so and so will deal with that” and just walk out of the room????
