Plot # 28: Tale of Two Kingdoms

Muse A is a prince. Muse B is a princess. Both royals are from neighboring kingdoms that have had a tenuous alliance for hundreds of years. Muse A’s kingdom has a formidable army; while Muse B’s kingdom has plentiful gold and silks. War is threatening to come to their lands and the only thing that can secure peace for both kingdoms is a union of families by marriage of the next heirs to the throne. The prince and princess are set to be wed shortly after their first meeting, once Muse B is of age to bear children. At first, the betrothed couple do not get along. Bad blood between their fathers have tainted their views of each other long before they come to meet. Gradually, as they are forced to engage in the courting process for the sake of the kingdoms, their negative impressions of each other fall away.

Here we go. He thinks, letting the blonde teen rant about how he’d gone on a rough mission. But he was back at Konohagakure in one piece. Yet she continued to poke at his chest, claiming how scared she was for him and unintentionally giving messages of how much she missed him.

“Tsuna-Hime..” He whispered, resting a hand on her shoulder, moving down to her eye level. “Look, I’m fine. I’m not hurt.” He began, kissing her forehead lightly.

“..You are correct, unfortunately” he gave a light sigh. His darkened eyes shifting before settling on her face, a frown stretching his lips.

“Tsunade-Hime. I must have been brought back from the dead by some horrific jutsu.. Thankfully, I still have consciousness and in control.. But I fear our time together will be limited.” He speaks softly.

having been healed, all he wanted to do was to leave and go see Tsunade at her desk. Because she was now Hokage, she’d be busy doing her work, he’d hoped. He did remember how she often skip her responsibilities to do other stuff, missing their training sessions for a ‘quick’ drink or two. Though at the return of the young girl’s voice, Dan blinked up at her.

Her words brought back memories of years ago. When he was off fighting in the war and was shot down by enemy Shinobi. He could remember a rather agitated voice, ordering Tsunade to leave him. If she were to stay, they’d both die. He knew she made the right choice, even if it crushed her.

“..They said I’d die. They told Tsunade to leave me. But from what she did heal, I was able to get away.” He mumbled out softly. “Shizune..” He whispered, remembering his niece and his sister. How he’d often babysit the both of them. How they’d play harmless pranks on him and he’d pretend to be dead. How Shizune would pretend to heal him.

“Shizune is my niece.. It looks like.. I am your father..” He gave a light smile.
