[Pixel || she/they || 20yo] Here I be mentally ill about my interests, talk about & draw art my AUs | Sashannarcy is real, God (Anne Boonchuy) came in my dreams to tell me herself | that one dumbass who created the sapphic amphibia pirate au ☠️🏳️🌈 [ Heart_Wit_Strength on AO3]
Haven't seem anyone mention this yet, but in addition to Polities' words, it is deeply tragic that the first time being kind/making peace works, the Circe Saga, it's immediately followed by the saga where Odysseus decides to become a monster. Polites' kindness was proven to work, but everything else was just too much.
NOW APHRODITE SAYING "Odysseus clames to love his mother but let her die of a broken heart" (in "god games") MAKES SO MUCH MORE SENSE AND HITS SO MUCH DEEPER WHAT THE HELL
What bothers me is that unlike in the Odyssey, Tiresias in Epic does not warn Odysseus about the cattle of Helios that he and his men must avoid harming. The men were entirely on fault to disobey advice and eat the cattle anyways and bear the gods' wrath, which would be neglected in the musical because here there's no such warning made beforehand.
I can't tell why this was done but it seems in order to further bury the fact it's a significant issue that the crew keeps calling trouble upon themselves by not listening to Odysseus.
