Had to carve a path to get into the garden but couldn't get all the way to the end. The liatris and duranta was like "you shall not pass!"

So almost everything you see except for the bush at the end is going to be sunflowerish . Fall is gonna be popping!!!! ( Also can't get to a lot of my garden anymore, but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make)

In better news, I checked the garden first thing this morning and I officially finally have Caterpillars! And a whole bunch of them, too.

No Swallowtails this year yet. But the Gulf Fritillaries (Dione vanillae) are finally laying eggs on the Passionflower Vine. Sadly means I won't be able to harvest flowers for a bit. But I'm so happy they've finally found it!

A spider lily ( native ) I got recently is starting to perk up. I took them home in a grocery bag so they were a bit stressed at first. I just emptied this pot of giant milkweed so this was a perfect spot to ensure it had room to grow but also that it didn't try to take over my entire life.

She is as big as my hand! She has bees in her web so I guess he found a good spot, I will admire her beauty from far away cause her web is all over the place and I couldn't get close without bothering her

I feel like the gulf fritillary were a little late to the party but I'm so happy to see caterpillars on the passion vine! Still wasp and assassin bugs doing their thing but also I know it's part of nature.....even if I don't like it

My coworker ( who is originally from China) and I were texting about a work issue and she just dropped this gem on me. She said it's an old Chinese saying and I have never heard anything so random but also perfect at the same time! Who needs bad apples and rotten eggs when we could of had poop in the soup this whole time!!!

So I'm ignoring the fact it looks like a butterfly in the web ......aaannnddd look I have a new friend in the garden 😅 it does make me sad but I also accept nature is nature
