I've just been reading Brubaker's run of Cap. So damn good and a crime that he could be so marginally compensated. I totally get now why some people were so angry that Bucky wasn't the new Cap. I get why SOME of the people were upset.

The MCU using AI art really shouldn’t have been a surprise all things considered. They have been very explicit about how they like to recreate comic panels and covers in the shows/movies and in their advertising, but have never credited the artists nor payed them (David Aja confirmed as much). Same goes for the people who wrote the stories they’re adapting, Ed Brubaker gets more residuals for an 8 second cameo in the Winter Soldier movie than he gets from Marvel Studios for writing the story the movie heavily relies on. For creating the version of a character they have profited off of for years now. Marvel Studios has never valued artists of any variety and the bigger the MCU gets the more glaring this problem is becoming in its output.
