Week 12/13
With the Due date drawing closer, I have finalised my diline and finalised my Mock up.
As all the tutors say, print it out before and test it out, see if it works, can you read it? Is it legible? And yes I was so so so happy with how mine worked out. Even though the first time I printed my box it was the wrong one, not my updated one. That was okay because I cut it all out and put it together and looked at what worked for me and what didn't. Happily I made a few changes and printed it again. Once again small changes. But the third print of my box I was stoked with. I couldn't believe that I had actually done something cool like this? Who knew!
I really like how my final design looks and I am so happy with what I have designed.
I also had some help after class with Miranda, while she showed me how to find other Mock-ups online and how to apply my design to the mock ups. Even though I did go with the mock up provided I am so happy with it.

Heavenly Lava Chocolate
My Design Statement.
Heavenly lava is aimed at those who have the sugary late-night craving and just want a little something to sooth their soul and to just ‘Melt your mouth’.
I wanted heavenly lava to be a chocolate that everyone puts in their shopping trolley as a ‘must have’ with their tea or wine or just to have while watching TV late at night.
I wanted to Heavenly Lava to have a warm and soft colour palette and a pattern that was something different than the others.
My inspiration for my repeat pattern comes from a small town called Alfama in Lisbon, Portugal. It was here that I fell in love with the colours of the buildings and creativity of such a small town. Every building in Alfama was externally covered in tiles. Alot of things in this town to were hand painted, being an old, smaller town it is all old fashion and tradtional painting which makes these tiles so unique. The colours of the buildings were like something ive never seen and the different patterns of every single building was incredible. It was also in this small town of Alfama that I had a creamy caramel Gelato, and this is my main source of inspirations for Heavenly Lava.
I wanted the colours of my packaging to represent the flavour that my chocolate is as well. Heavenly Lava falls well with the colours of orange, green, yellow and I wanted to also bring to light the colours that you think of when you see a volcano to represent my brand. The typography I used for my packaging I also wanted to be easily read by the customers and I also wanted my typography for my logo to be easily identified and easily paired with my brand. The soft overall look of my packaging and logo is so that the customers can identify it as a soft, silky and milky chocolate that is sweet on the lips and light on the hips. Heavenly Lava is targeted at an audience not specifically
KEYWORDS :
Silky, Heavenly, Creamy, colour, Melt, Earthy, soft, warm, hand-painted, romantic, tasty

Week 11/12
Coming up with final designs for my Chocolate box and logo and finalising black and white and my reverse logo. picking from a few I liked and from my week 12  presentation and my feedback from my class and miranda I expanded my logo and typography and added a volcano WITH COLOUR!
This was exciting for me to create in illustrator as well because it took me to a new adventure in the tools I was using and the time I took to Lynda and youtube all exercises on HOW TO do things.
With these final weeks as well coming up with a design statement of where my inspiration came from and what my aim with Heavenly Lava was. In my statement I want to talk about what my flavour is and how my colours of my chocolate box represent my flavour of chocolate.
Keywords for my chocolate I am thinking :
Silky, Smooth, Creamy, Sweet, Dreamy, Melting, Oozing, Romantic, Relaxing, Tasty, Heavenly, Hand-Painted, Earthy, Soft, Warm, Winter, Late-nights.

Week 10
Trying to explore a pattern for my Chocolate logo.
For my repeat pattern I wanted to explore a pattern that was creamy in colour but I also wanted to create a hand drawn pattern that gave a hand made look and feel to my packaging. A natural sort of feel. For my patterns I drew a small sample into Procreate on my iPad and later transferred it over into photoshop to create a repeat pattern.  For me to create the repeat pattern in photo shop and to apply this to my Diline box took a lot of youtube and Linda videos and a lot of time for me to learn how to do this. I also had Miranda sit aside with me to help me apply it to my Diline.
After struggling for a while I eventually got a few practices on how to create a repeat pattern. For me to then refine several different styles and designs I liked a few of my little creations.

WEEK 10 Chocolate Identity.
This weeks task was to begin to have some rough sketches and ideas for logo design for my chocolate. I am wanting to create a circular shape for my logo and to have Heavenly lava in the logo.
The typography I want to use is most definitely feminine and soft and flourishing. I am unsure if I want to include a volcano in my logo to have a image based logo? I am unsure about colours too. I don't often create with colour so I am trying to imagine it with my repeat pattern so I can place it on a background and see how legible the text would be.

WEEK 8/9
NAMES NAMES NAMES
Coming up with  a name for my chocolate was probably just as hard as naming a baby! I didn't want anything cheesy and typical but I didn't want something weird that I couldn't imagine eating myself. I wanted it to sound pleasing but also want it to sound seductive and sexy in an appropriate way.
I also have to come up with a name for my brand but also have to name my two other chocolates that I am extending of the original milk block. I am wanting to design them all with the same pattern and just change colours but maybe have something a little bit different about each packet because they will be flavoured and delicious.
My name I have come up with for the ‘brand’ will be ‘Heavenly Lava’. My extended flavours I think will be ‘Strawberry kisses’ and ‘Caramix’. These names aren't set but they are 80% locked in.
The name I feel represents an angelic like feel but the lava brings it back down with a oozing and melting feeling so together I think they compliment each other especially being a chocolate brand. I will be bringing the name in the other chocolates by adding “I LAVA..... “ whatever flavour I do so it will have the brand logo on the packet and the title of the chocolate flavour. The colour of the packets will also vary depending on what flavour it is.
The three types of chocolate I am doing for this assessment definitely adds in a lot more and extra work for me but also the packets won't be varying to much so I am telling myself now...... “DON’T MAKE THIS HARDER FOR YOURSELF”

Week 8
We began our chocolate brand in the tutorial, filling out these forms and brainstorming and imagining what we wanted our chocolate to be like.
My first idea is caramel. I love caramel and I know exactly what I wanted to taste when creating my chocolate. I want something that you could never feel sick no matter how much you ate it but also wanted that sweet oozing caramel and chocolate flavour. I could see all these caramel colours, I could see swirls and patters almost like a dream. My caramel chocolate would be a romantic and seductive caramel that would be eaten by Victoria secret angels on the runway. I could literally imagine it happening. I also could see Elvis relaxing on the couch with a block by his side, singing and enjoying the sweetness of the caramel.
My second chocolate also came to me immediately as it was a flavour I ate while overseas and when I came home the flavour almost doesn't exist. And it is White Chocolate, Strawberry cheesecake. This is just the best flavour. The sweetness of white chocolate, with oozing chunks of strawberry cheesecake and the crunch of the cheesecake base throughout your mouth. It is just delicious. For this type of chocolate I can see Nikki Webster having a piece of this chocolate.
I am brainstorming names for my chocolate brand as I am wanting to make a simple milk chocolate that is the traditional brand and then these two caramel and strawberry are my break through side kicks.
I am seeing these chocolates as a cheeky snack for mum and dad to have after they have put the kids to bed, I see it as a seductive snack for a couple to indulge in, and I see it as a chocolate that people just crave, that want to keep to themselves and have a glass of wine with and cuddle up on the lounge and just accidentally eat the whole block.
