“I trust you that you will be able to take down the Belmont.”
“I’m capable, my Lord.”
Which didn’t mean Hector had any intention of doing so. The path he had traced on his maps should take him in the opposite direction, to give the hunter a wide berth.
It’s not cowardice. It is the primal will to live.
The feeble voice in his mind could only crushed by the weight of the guilt that paralyzes him on the spot, kneeling right at his Lord’s feet.
Hector dares not lift his head, for he knows that his brittle resolve to save himself would shatter at the sight of the man who gave him shelter and warmth.
He used me. I refuse to be his tool! I deserve better than that!
And it was Lord Dracula himself who taught him his own worth, so Hector was only being a good student.
There was a time where there was no room in his heart for spite against his savior.
Moved not by reason, but by a spark ignited in his chest, Hector clasped his Lord’s hand like many times before, and planted a long kiss on that cold skin, until the chill seeped in his lips.
The kiss of Judah.
“Oh, Hector,” and he didn’t need to look at the vampire: his smile, that poisonous smile that had him ensnared for years, was audible. “You will never change.”
He bit back a smile.
“Forgive me, my Lord,” Hector replied, and stood up, gaze fixated on his own bloody hands, “but I believe I did already. I can only thank you for the man I have become.”
To Lord Dracula, he owed his most sincere gratitude, for raising him to become the kind of man that can decide for himself to seek life.

Hecula + Throne
~
Dracula’s throne was far from being the most comfortable seat Hector had ever tried. The old rumors said that it had been whittled from the skeleton of a monster, and like bone it was hard and coarse to the touch. Furthermore, its sheer size made it near impossible to sit in a dignified way, as his legs could only dangle off the seat.
It wasn’t for comfort that Hector lounged on it. It was because its former owner’s expression, frozen with fury and humiliation, gave him the closest thing to joy he could feel at the moment.
“Not even a cushion? I didn’t expect such an austere arrangement from you, of all people.” He smirked. “Perhaps you should try my lap, my Lord. Then we’d be even.”
“You will die, Hector.” It was not a threat; Dracula no longer had the power to threaten anyone, least of all his former servant. But it was a stark reminder. “You will die, and then your weak, tainted soul will come to Hell to visit me. And I will be there, waiting.
Hector only smiled at the thought. Him, Isaac and Dracula, all back together for eternity, free to tear each other apart until they lost themselves. That was his ultimate fate; no matter how far he ran, there was only one destination for him.
It did not frighten him.
“I know. You were never able to let go,” he laughed – how it came easy to him to mock the man he once loved more than his own life. Ah, but that man was long dead, and kneeling in front of him, there were only his pathetic remains. “And when we’ll meet, I’ll make you pay for what you have done to me. But in the meantime,” Hector crossed his legs and watched the vampire vanish with a roar, “I’m interested in living.”

How do you feel about this song for Hector? <3
"When the fires, when the fires have surrounded you And the whole wide world's comin' after you I've got blood, I've got blood on my name"
omg, just that excerpt alone is perfect for the Guy but OH i have SO many thoughts <3 im just gonna cover the lines that i feel are most interesting in terms of my boye
under the cut for scrollings sake hehe
I dont think i need to cover the chorus, its kinda quite obvious dghsgdh THE REST HOWEVER-
Oh, Lazarus, how did your debts get paid? Oh, Lazarus, were you so afraid?
Hector working himself to the bone, Hecula Draculas Cruse etc. Though a simple line in concept its driving me up a wall for totally unrelated reasons hfghd
Not a spell gonna be broken with a potion or a priest When you're cursed, you're always hopin' that a prophet would be grieved
not a spell gonna be broken [...] the curse, easy enough but that last line 'hopin' that a prophet would be grieved' - once again metaphorically connected to Dracula, Hector and Isaac thinking of him as their Lord/God, him favoring Hector and how he almost places him on a different level than Isaac - he gets between them, his will is his Lord, He really is like a Dark Prophet both to the people he is made to kill for Dracula and maybe even the hierarchy in the castle itself (AAAA). But obviously, we know what being Draculas favorite does to any one - Hector is his favorite without a choice. It is not worth being the lords favorite, it rips him up and tears him at every seam. as a plea, Isaac is lucky to be almost oh so despised by him.
also another few lines that fascinate me
Can’t you see I’m sorry I will make it worth your while Made a(or "of") dead man’s money You can see it in my smile
i dont necessarily see how it can fit Hector however, it does nicely fit Dracula towards Hector which admittedly is a major part of his character. Once again under the assumption that this is Lazarus the beggar, and the man speaking rather than being Lazarus is the rich man (as the song does have quite alot of biblical themes) to me it makes sense that this is for a quick moment, a switch to Dracula - perhaps his words ringing in Hectors head? the guilt of so easily forsaking his Lord with the 'cant you see im sorry?' but as i said, its not so much applicable to Hector as it is good ole' Dracul
It won’t be long ‘Til I’m dead and gone Watch the fires rise under my skin Down to the bone Scorchin’ my soul
just wanted to remark on this that hell in the song is destroying to the extent of burning or even destroying his soul. its a tangential tie to Hector at best but i still think its noteworthy. what is Hectors hell? i can assume his "sin" are his ties to Dracula so perhaps the "hell" is his life under his servitude? /shrug/
Also, this is mostly under the interpretations that it is Lazarus the beggar and not the more well known one i.e the one risen from the dead as it fits most considering Hector. The entire song feel of desperation for redemption, immense guilt and shame also the simple weariness in his voice is soo Hector </3

I think Dracula had the courtesy of shapeshifting away his claws and his fangs, maybe even shrinking to N!Dracula human size with Lisa, but not with Hector. But not because he's a sadist or anything.
From Dracula's POV, he had to hide his vampirism to be with Lisa. Not that she didn't know, of course, but... well, she's a human. She's fragile, easy to break. She might also be repulsed to see those inhuman traits too up close. So he temporarily changed himself to put her at ease and not hurt her.
But Hector? Hector can handle Dracula. All of him. He's strong, sturdy, brave. He may look human, but he was born a monster and grew up surrounded by them. Dracula can be his monstruous self, and still be accepted - maybe even loved. He doesn't need to fret.
And if Hector gets hurt, well. Dracula gave him the power to heal himself :)

Hecula + Dead flowers.
No life could grow from death. Only a phantom of it, a thing that looks alive until you notice its stillness and feel the cold of its flesh on your hand.
No love could beat from a dead heart, already scattered in pieces. Obsession, devotion, care, protection: things that approach love, but don’t quite reach it, like a hand attempting to capture smoke.
Lord Dracula would not be stopped by such trivial things. He had a precious thing to keep close to his vacant chest.
A gift, from his clawed hand to a smaller one. A red carnation, the best one that grew in my garden, he explained with a smile as frayed as the petals.
He had to explain, because the poor thing hardly resembled a flower. The petals were the color of ashes, hanging limply from the stem, dried up like the Lord’s compassion. It was, most likely, a demon’s work, for no life could grow in Lord Dracula’s realm without a blasphemer behind it.
And that was the reason Hector took it, and felt it with his callused fingers. One petal fell, so he stopped.
He would cherish his Lord’s gift until the end of days.
Hector wiped his boots on the grass. He did not wish to stain the castle with human blood more than it already was, and without Isaac putting pressure on him, he felt free to do as he pleased.
And that was how he spotted it, from the corner of his eye.
A single flower, standing tall among its crushed brethren. A purple dahlia, he recognized, wobbly and missing petals due to being stomped on, but alive and well. Hector crouched, to admire it: such a regal flower was hard to come by.
He knew just the person who deserved this gift.

And that's how it starts :3
Me: I want to promote Hecula on a ship blog <3 but eh let's stick to canon and not call it pseudo-incest, canonically they're simply Lord and General. They're already problematic enough without adding my personal interpretation :3
My incredibly based and heculapilled mutuals, braver than any us marine:
Tumblr media
the heculaganda is, indeed, proping :)

"Coffin"
~
Hector’s rebirth had not been a peaceful, pleasant one.
Perhaps because he never wanted it in the first place, but a wife was not to go against her husband’s wishes. That was what Lord Dracula had said.
He had said quite a lot of things, actually, before sliding a ring on Hector’s finger and his fangs in Hector’s neck and his dripping tongue in Hector’s mouth.
He had forgotten about them, because when his humanity had left him, he woke up screaming as his body rotted from the inside out.
Hector cried and cried, his chest heaving as breathing no longer came with that sensation of relief that meant that he was alive, and only Lord Dracula was strong enough to stop him from destroying his room. So, Hector could only weep in his husband’s chest, longing for what he never had.
Vestiges of humanity, he’d soothe him. They, too, will pass – and you shall make for a wonderful vampire bride at my side, precious.
They did not pass.
Hector simply could not be left alone in his own coffin. Lord Dracula had reassured him that he would be nothing but comfortable, more than when he used to sleep on his bed; but in the cramped dark, nostrils assaulted by the stench of decay, Hector broke his fingernails in a vain attempt to break free; and then he gnawed at them, licked the lukewarm fermented blood flowing from them, because it reminded him of Lord Dracula’s blood forcibly poured down his throat, and for fleeting moments, he was more than a lonely corpse to be buried.
Lord Dracula’s solution to Hector’s hysteria was as magnanimous as one could expect from him.
Now, Hector slept in the Lord’s coffin. Indeed, the fits had stopped; Hector would simply lie awake with his eyes wide open, with his husband’s arm as a blanket and his chest as a pillow.
Not even death could separate them.

hehehehehe twirls hair and kicks legs in the air I actually love writing Hector on a leash in the hand of a gross manipulative bastard vampire 🥰 I am reclaiming the Vision. it's mine now. it never happened anywhere else.
because it's so much fun to elaborate on the twisted power games going on, the vile lies used to keep him in check, that they only work because Hector needs to feel loved, but also his pride and morals don't make him fully give in, he wants power and respect too, he wants to flip the dynamic
and Dracula most of all doesn't want to let him go, he's grieving the death of his wife and the estrangement of his son, so he's pulling all tricks to make sure that it never happens again, and it would be pitiable if he wasn't a slimy grooming narcisissitc predator who is going to get his big ass kicked so much 💖
so it's not as easy as it seems, Hector at this point is trapped in a spider web but is slowly struggling to break free, and it's that conflict that gets me going - it's actual dubcon babyyyy
also, you know. service tops are fucking hot. terribly underrated if you ask me. something something the dad is proud of how much his son has grown but still sees him as his baby boy too fragile to be let go :)

branding in whump!! it doesn't even have to be the typical hot cattle brand---it can be a tattoo, or just a straight up scar whumper gives them. bonus points if it's very difficult/impossible to really cover up or remove so whumpee is always reminded of what happened to them :3

I want to write about Hector's confused feelings about the last months in Dracula's castle and him musing about living in a gilded cage that clipped his wings but also he wishes he could be more mad at Dracula but he can't because he hurt him but he still cares
I don't know if to make it a oneshot (and I'd have to think about how to organize it) or leave the sentiment for Grip, with a healthy dose of Isaactor angst too lol

Broke: Dracula always tops/doms Hector because he's an evil Lord and Hector is just his toy/poor victim who has to withstand pain and humiliation
Woke: Dracula knows Hector intimately by the time he starts a sexual relationship with him. He doesn't only want a warm body, but to be 100% sure he won't leave him like his son did. Letting Hector top is a very effective tool of manipulation: it feeds Hector's ego, it gives him the illusion of power he craves so much, it makes him feel special and wanted and worthy of taking good care of his Lord who trusts him more than anyone else. If Dracula orders him around from the bottom (do this, do that, slow down, speed up, don't come until I tell you so, don't slip away until I tell you so), it doesn't feel like abuse, but reasonable requests. If Hector believes that his Lord respects and loves him, and love is in his mind "giving yourself away for your beloved", he wouldn't abandon him even if he's no longer fully convinced of the war they're conducting. Right?
It's all a deliberate illusion that can only last so long - Hector is not stupid and he can eventually see the dangling keys in front of him, he can see that his voice doesn't matter in the war room and he can see that Dracula's behavior towards Isaac is irrational so Hector really didn't do anything to deserve special treatment, he was just lucky. But I like the idea of Dracula putting thought into how to put a mental and emotional leash on his boy, instead of just bullying his way into traumatizing him lmao. We love insidious, personalized manipulation <3
and he enjoys a nice warm hecock. that is a very appreciated bonus. sucks for hector that has to fuck a cold body but hey, a little sacrifice for his lord's happiness :)

Hector: Do vampires have a concept of nudity, my Lord?
Dracula: You seem fascinated by the culture of my species. As befitting of my most brilliant student.
Hector: Thank you, my Lord. I simply figured that, since vampires cannot feel cold or be harmed by human means, they would not need protection.
Dracula: You figure well. It is not unusual to see a vampire hunt in the nude, as means of intimidation. *wrinkles nose* It is unsightly.
Hector: So vampires do have a concept of nudity, my Lord?
Dracula: It is simply a matter of dignity. Just because we need to hunt and feed on prey, it doesn't mean it is appropriate to act like savage beasts. I in particular, as a Lord, need to properly show my status no matter the circumstances. My clothes are part of me and who I am.
Hector: … You bared yourself for me, my Lord.
Dracula, smiling: That I did. Did it bother you, being nude together as equals, Hector?
Hector, smiling: Not... not at all, my Lord.
Dracula: Only you have this privilege, dear. *kiss on forehead* To see my body in its least dignified form and use it at your leisure. I don't regret putting it in your capable hands.
Hector: I would never call you undignified, my Lord. I believe you were honest.
