Grand Slam Thank You, Ma’am (Epilogue)

It’s dizzying, overwhelming, the elation and relief and triumph Lexa feels as she poses for the assembled photographers with the trophy. Weakened by fatigue, her arms tremble slightly from the strain of holding the massive cup aloft for minutes on end while cameras flash all around. Turning this way and that. Planting a kiss on the side. And despite the exhaustion and aching muscles, the reservoir of sweat at the base of her spine and the damp hair sticking to the back of her neck, a joyous smile never slips from her face.

Clexa Sports AU Fic Recommendations

Howdy Clexakru! Today I bring you one of our favorite AUs: Sports. Who doesn’t love the thought of hot and sweaty Clexa in uniforms? There are so many fanfics that fall into this AU, so here are just of few of my favorites. Game on!

Stellar Collision (Soccer) and Breaking the Ice (Hockey) by @thessclexa : In SC, Clarke and Lexa are soccer stars who cannot stand each other. They move on to college only to find that they are now roommates. Of course, hate and love are just two sides of the same coin. In BTI, Clarke and Lexa meet at hockey camp; both are all stars who slowly realize they have an undeniable connection. These two fics highlight the talent of SSC. Her writing pulls you in and holds you till the end. Victory Level: Finding a quarter in a change return slot. You young ones do not understand the joy this brought.

Grand Slam, Thank you Ma’am (Tennis) by @femininenachos : Ah yes, the fic that has taught me more Australian slang than I knew existed. Seriously, you need a translation guide to understand Anya. Lexa has a real shot at winning Wimbledon but an injury flares up forcing her to seek the help of physical therapist Clarke. The back and forth between these two is wonderful. I love seeing confident Lexa knocked down a few by sassy Clarke. Oh and check out the authors blog for some of the best manips I have ever seen. Victory Level: Social Media stalking your crush and not accidentally liking a picture from 4 years ago

Skin to Win (Olympics) by @barbieliberationarmy : Lexa is competing for gold in downhill skiing. Nothing will get in her way. That is until biathlete (I see what you did there) Clarke comes stumbling into her life. This may be set during the Winter Olympics but it is hotter than the Summer Olympics. The chemistry and attraction between Clexa is simmering. Victory Level: Getting a picture of your car’s odometer when it reads 80085

What Happens in Rio (Olympics) by @almostafantasia : US Olympic athlete Lexa is completely knocked off her game by cocky Australian athlete Clarke. A fun one-shot where useless lesbian Lexa cannot get a certain blonde swimmer out of her head. I love the cocky confidence of Clarke in this one. She’s got game. Victory Level: Not a single person walking into a public restroom when you are pooping

Waiting for Love to Strike (Soccer) by @jlaw1105 : One of my all-time favorite Clexa fics; I have read this three times. Freshman Clarke joins her college soccer team only to discover that team captain Lexa truly earns the name Commander. They each have dark pasts that they must work through in order to discover the true hearts that lie within each other. This is one of the best enemies to lovers, slow burn, mutual pining fics. Victory Level: Getting two Twix packages from the vending machine when you only paid for one

Ground and Pound (MMA) by @DanceTYD : MMA rivals Clarke and Lexa face off for the Title. Too bad the only thing they can’t defeat is the devastating sexual tension between them. This is a fun, slightly angsty, slightly fluffy quick fic that will have you wishing you could jump in the ring with both of them. Victory Level: Finding a scratch off on the ground and winning $7; Subway here I come!    

Caught Inside (Surfing) by awriterofthings: Clarke returns home to enjoy some surfing. Everything goes well until she quite literally surfs into Lexa. Everyone seems to love Lexa but Clarke doesn’t get it - she cant stand her. Clarke must learn to set her stubbornness aside and see what everyone else does in Lexa. Victory Level: Hitting every red light on the way to work and every green light on the way home.

Footy (Soccer) by @coeurdastronaute : Lexa, international soccer superstar, has just moved to Britain. A chance meeting with Clarke is about to turn her world upside down more than the metric system. As with all of this authors works, the prose is delicately beautiful, intricately woven, and enthralling. You will be pulled into their world and left breathless. Victory Level: Being the first one in line on pizza day at the cafeteria

Good Game (Soccer) by @bottom-lexa : On the pitch, Clarke and Lexa have an explosive rivalry. Behind closed doors, it’s damn near nuclear. This is a quick fic that has me wishing for more. The banter between the two is hilarious. I would love to see how they navigated their rivalry and their growing relationship. Victory Level: Getting a free extra shot of espresso from the cute barista you’ve been flirting with

Bend or Curl (Olympics) by @100hearteyes : Norwegian Lexa and American Clarke are competing in the curling medal race. On the surface they are bitter rivals stoking the rivalry between their teams. But underneath, they are madly in love and cannot stay away from each other. A fun, adorable quick fic that will leave you smiling. Victory Level: Calling someone you really don’t want to talk to and it going to voicemail

Individual Medley (Olympics) by @ecfandom : Clarke meets Olympian Lexa and they quickly fall into bed. It was supposed to mean nothing; a one time thing. However, Clarke soon learns there is a deep, wounded soul hidden under the medals hanging around Lexa’s neck. This fic features themes of violence, anxiety, PTSD, and traumatic events. But the author does a wonderful job of crafting a happy, fluffy fic that realistically details two people learning to love through the pain. Victory Level: Discovering a show you love on Netflix and every season is available

Touch or Carry (Volleyball) @paintthebrain : Clarke and Lexa find themselves as beach volleyball rivals. Lexa is a stoic and technical player but she is caught off balance by the fierce and unpredictable Clarke. They begin as enemies but soon discover that they have an undeniable attraction both on and off the sand. It’s Clexa in bikinis, y’all! What more could you ask for? Victory Level: Getting the entire row to yourself on an airplane.
