nine -> jungwon to the rescue! (warnings! mentions of suicide.)

i opened my eyes to see byul by my side, holding my hand tightly as she sobbed. "...byul..?" i said as she looked up at me and gasped with more tears coming out from her eyes.

"yn!" she hugged me tightly as she cried heavily onto my shoulder. i patted her back as a few tears left my eyes, "i missed you so much ynnie..." byul mumbled as i smiled slightly, and hugged her tightly, "i missed you too, wonbyul."

"what... happened..?" i asked as she sat back down at the chair, and i touched my head, feeling a sharp pain and i winced before byul placed my hand down, "the doctors said you fell down..."

soon enough, jeonghan entered the room, smiling so widely as he rushed over to me and hugged me tightly. "you fucking idiot, i missed you yn." jeonghan cried as he sobbed loudly and placed his head on top of mine, patting my head as he cried.

"i missed you too, hannie." i said as he smiled down at me and a knock was heard at the room door. jeonghan got up to open the door before saying, "you might wanna see this."

the door opened and the prettiest boy with red hair walked in. i rubbed my eyes to adjust to the light and focus on the boy who had just walked into the room, my mouth was left wide open when i recognised who he was.

"jung... jungwon..?" i mumbled as he turned his head to face me, "oh my fucking god, yn!" his phone and canned drink fell to the floor as he ran towards me and gave me the most calming hug. he pulled away from the hug to cup my cheeks, "it really is you, princess." he pulled in again and pecked my forehead, making me blush.

"what happened princess?" he asked as the three gathered around me, "i... i went over to mom and dad's grave. i cried to them for three days and i just sat and slept at the bench near to their graves. the graveyard person saw and she offered me a place at the shed near the graves. at one... at one part, i almost gave up on life. i was already at han ledge, i was about to jump when someone caught me and pushed me to the ground, i'm guessing thats how i got this scar on my head.." i started as they all nodded.

"i wanted to go over to jungwon's but i didn't want to cause any more trouble so i went over to han's... next thing i knew, i blacked out the moment the door opened and now i'm here." i shrugged as my stomach grumbled.

"you haven't eaten a single thing..? you're so skinny now, yn. it's unhealthy.." byul asked as i shook my head, "i wasn't hungry..." jungwon shook his head and reached into his bag, pulling out a bunggeopang and passing it over to me, "riki wanted me to pass this to you."

i smiled and took it from his hand, touching his hand lightly which he took and intertwined it with his hands. "we should give them some space," jeonghan joked with byul as they actually left the room, leaving jungwon and i together.

"i missed you, princess." jungwon started as he came closer to my face, "i missed you too, won. but—" "no buts, please. let's not talk about social media or status right now. i'm just happy you're back with me now." jungwon said as i smiled and turned my whole body to face him.

"what have you been doing without me hm?" i asked as i tore apart of the bunggeopang and fed him, "crying, thinking about you, napped, worked, cried." i chuckled at his reply, "i'm serious ynnie, i was so worried about you..."

"i'm happy, i'm glad. i think i'll go home tomorrow, will you be fetching me..?" i asked as he nodded with a big smile, "of course." i smiled and fed him another piece, "why's your hair red?"

"comeback soon... why? does it look weird?"

"not at all. you look so handsome."

"you can't go off in the middle of the fucking night to get a puff or inhale a whole box of cigarettes yoon yn. what the fuck do you think you are? fucking carbon monoxide??" elle yelled at me in the girls shared dormitory as the other girls listened from their room doors.

"you can fucking drop the act. you don't even give a fuck about me do you? you only did because my brother told you to keep caring for me and to keep being friends with me. you only did it for the fucking fame didn't you? so stop acting like you actually fucking care about me when you don't!" i yelled back as tears dropped from my eyes, letting out a soft sob as i sat down on the sofa.

"yn. are you fucking dumb?! i'm your friend, your best friend for fucks sake of course i'd care for you! your brother has nothing to do this, neither does fame! do you know what could've happened to you?! you passed out the moment you reached at the dorms, you're lucky jungwon found you, you would've passed out and you would be in someone's basement if he didn't. so yes, i do fucking care for you, yoon yn." elle raised her voice at some parts, sitting down next to me as she held my hand in hers.

"i'm sorry for coming off harsh yn. but you needed this. look, i don't know what causes you to smoke but please, for the sake of you, of your loved ones, of us, stop. yes it'll be hard, but you managed to stop for jeonghan. we— i'll be here throughout so you'll always have me. you always had me." elle continued as she wraps her arm around my shoulder and i cried, letting it all out as she hugged me tightly.

"i'm sorry— i'm sorry elle. this was so... stupid of me. i shouldn't even be where i am right now. i assumed you were friends with me because of jeonghan and fame when you aren't, i smoked and overdosed on the air, i... i'm sorry." i mumbled as she nods her head and pats my head, "shh, it's all okay.. we'll go through this together. we always have. don't worry okay, ynnie?"

six -> the meet.

“ynnie!” riki yelled as he bursted through the doors of our recording studio. he opened his arms wide and lifted me to the air as we laughed and hugged, “hello to you too, riks.” soon enough, the other two caught up with the younger one and i bowed, “hello.” i greeted as they smiled at me. i held eye contact with jungwon as i can’t help but be reminded of the night we met again.

“so… where do we wait..?” jay asked and i snapped out of my trance, awkwardly laughing off the fact that i was staring at jungwon and he was staring right back at me. i led them to the judge seating area as i ran backstage, meeting my members before the show started.

“yn unnie, good luck..! i know how stressed you are about this especially since you’re first seat and you feel pressured… so i made you a little flower! judgement is in two more episodes, two weeks, so this is a good luck flower!” the group’s youngest member, eunseo, hugged me as she wrapped a flower bracelet made of paper on my wrist.

i smiled and thanked her before we had to go up on stage, hearing the fans yell our names as we started our first performance, ‘dalla dalla’ by itzy. in front of us were the judges and riki kept making funny faces to get me to break character on stage but i just held it in until we finished the song. there were a few parts where i slipped because of the wet stage but it wasn’t so bad.

“hello, we are team ‘dalla’. i’m elle, leader of the group and these are my members. hyewon, eunseo, wonbyul and yn.” elle introduced us as we bowed and greeted the other groups along with the judges.

“hello to all of you. that was an amazing performance… i must say, your vocals are stable even though the dance was pretty challenging..” the male judge said as we thanked with bright smiles. “let’s see what our special judges think of it… our special judges, jungwon, jay and ni-ki..!” the fans in the crowd yelled for them as they introduced themselves.

“i think they did very well, they carried out the steps smoothly.” jay smiled widely at elle as elle went crazy on stage, turnimg around just so she could giggle it all out. “i agree with jay hyung… the co-ordination is crazy, everyone was on time with the steps.” riki stated, smiling as he did a thumbs up.

last person to make a remark was jungwon. we all turned to face him but my face heated up when i caught his stare on me, the camera even caught that. “sorry, i was looking at the backdrop.” he lied and smiled directly at me, a slight blush creeping onto my cheeks as i looked away.

“overall, the dance was perfect. hyewon’s and wonbyul’s raps were great even though you have a high pitch. elle’s and eunseo’s dance were perfect, and yn was… perfect.” jungwon gave his input as my eyes widened, perfect in what way? don’t make me panic.

“ah.. i mean, yn’s vocals were really great and her dance was almost perfect. the slippery stage made it hard for her— for them, to dance well. but overall, she— they were all equally good, even better than i am.” jungwon continued as he smiled and rubbed the back of his neck, feeling slightly embarrassed.

“thank you, enhypen sunbae.” we thanked as we got off stage and took in our deep breaths, hugging each other as we all cheered at our positive remarks. “yn unnie, you and jungwon sunbae hm?” hyewom teased as they all poked my sides, “we’re just friends.. don’t be weird!” i replied as a few knocks were soon heard on our door. i excused myself from the hug as i ran to the door and opened it.

“hey,” the tall brunette greeted me as he towered over me, smiling down at me before greeting my groupmates. “hey..? anything wrong..?” i asked as i closed the door behind me and the gap between us was closed, almost non existant. “first, i’m sorry if how i acted earlier was weird.” jungwon admitted as i chuckled, “there’s nothimg weird about being my fanboy..!” i joked as we both laughed.

“secondly! riki told me it’s your second last episode, second last week before the final ranking so… i got you a little something.” he continued as he dug in the back of his pocket, taking out a bracelet.

“a little good luck charm. i have one too.” jungwon said as he lifted up his sleeve to reveal the bracelet i had made for him back in college, “you… still keep it?” he nodded, “call me toxic for keeping it or whatever but this, this is my good luck charm.” he took my hand and tied the bracelet around my wrist, smiling as i admired the bracelet.

“thanks. for, all this. i appreciate all this… maybe we could have dinner soon? after my final ranking?” i asked as i fidgeted with the bracelet on my wrist, the thought of him still keeping the bracelet i made him made the smile on my face permenant.

“of course, anyday ynnie. i have to go now, goodluck for your next show..! i’ll be watching,” he puts his hand up for a hand shake but i chuckled and pulled him close to me, hugging him tightly before going back in.

what a day.

four -> yn's past. (my apologies for the long chapter🥹)

“yn! that’s literally so funny what—“ byul, elle and i were cut off from laughing as we accidentally bumped into o ur seniors. “oh, sorry.” elle apologised as the three of us bowed as an apology for bumping into them. i looked up to see the three people i least expected to see, jay, ni-ki and jungwon.

“oh, please don’t worry about it.” jay reassured us as elle’s smile widened, meeting eyes with the older male as we bowed again. “aren’t you three auditioning for the new hybe survival show..? if i’m not wrong, you’re kim wonbyul.. kim elle..? and you’re yoon yn.” jay asked when the air became thicker.

“ah yes… we’re happy to meet you..?” i said, trying to form words since we were still new to bumping into idols and all. “was that a question or were you actually forming a sentence?” riki chuckled as i rolled my eyes playfully, “let her off riks, she’s new to this. well, we have to get going but it was nice meeting you.” jungwon said as he stared directly into my eyes.

what? does he wanna kiss me or something what’s with the attitude change?

i scoffed softly as i made an excuse, “sorry i have to attend to this.” i said rolling my eyes as i looked directly at jungwon. maybe i shouldn’t have done that, maybe i should’ve. that’s nothing compared to what he did to me in high school. he should’ve learnt his lesson by now, right?

“yoon yn. YOON YN!” elle yelled back for me as tears dropped down my cheeks, turnimg around as i faced her. “what.. elle. what is it? i’m sorry for acting up but.. i’m sorry go on with the dance practice without me, i’ll just see you next episode.” i said as i smiled through my tears, elle was about to open her mouth again but i just went up to her and hugged her, “i’m fine don’t worry about me.”

i walked past the walkways and got to a dark spot where i always went to if i needed to release my thoughts into space. i was wearing a grey tank with a beanie and some sweatpants as the cold wind brushed my hair, fuck i should’ve brought a jacket. i sighed and took out a stick, lighting it up as i inhaled a puff and let the smoke disperse in the air.

did i deserve that in high school? maybe it was a wake up call… but still, jungwon didn’t start a ‘call yn a slut’ chain, some stupid juniors did. maybe he isn’t all bad, am i thinking too much? jeonghan would hate me if i ever forgave jungwon this quick. jungwon didn’t really hurt me, just mentally and emotionally. again, it’s my fault for pushing him to be in a relationship with me… i knew he was emotionally unready or unstable a few weeks into our relationship so why didn’t he say anything?

“you know… sometimes it’s good to let your members know where you go. and it’s best to let your brother know where you went,” a familiar voice struck in my head as i snapped out of my thoughts, taking another puff of the tobacco flavoured stick as he sighs, “look yn… what i did back then—“

“please. no.” i cut him off as he pointed to the seat next to mine, i nodded and made a big space between us as i took yet another puff. “your friends and your brother are worried. they started coming after me because you talked about me..?” jungwon admitted as he sighed deeply and i nodded, “sorry about them.”

up til now, i hadn’t spared him a single glance. “yn, can we talk?” jungwon asked as he faced me, “we are talking.” i said, before he took my stick and threw it on the floor and used his foot to stop the fire from burning, turning me slowly to face him.

“please?” he said in a soft voice that i almost melted at, i nodded my head.

“i was stupid to say that you cheated, you obviously didn’t and i was at fault. i wasn’t very responsible as a boyfriend and i was seen with multiple girls and i said i had no time for our dates. i’ll be honest, i was jealous of seeing you spend more time with wonwoo than me.. so i made my schedule packed with tutees… i realised how stupid i was to think that i was in the right to tell everyone you chested and those juniors… called you names… because of me.” he took a deep breath to continue but i out my finger to his lips and shook my head with a deep sigh.

“look jungwon. i’m leaving that in the past, i’m happy, i’m glad you realised what you did wrong. i’ve tried everyway to avoid you but i guess the world just isn’t on my side. if we’re going to be label mates then, hello i’m yoon yn. what’s your name?” i said as i offered my hand, “yang jungwon, nice to meet you yn.”

“nice to meet you too asshat.”
