I don't like this one frankly. Too raw. Too emotional. But a necessary work, I find.

Oddly enough, even though I started off hating this poem, I read it again a year later and I find myself quite happy with it. This poem was also written for my same dear friend who's degree requires the use of a compass during fieldworks. I will say, I think it went on a bit of a spiel when in reality the words dedicated to her was the last few stanzas. Together with that as well as the fact that I had all but barfed out this poem on a paper, this poem at it's creation felt forced and not at all special. So I kept it away without even glancing at it for a year. Today I read it and I find it's not so bad. So yeah!

This poem I wrote in a flurry of emotions after I got the acceptance letter to my dream university. After the highs of the announcement came the lows of the realization that I would have to separate from one of my dearest friend and this poem was what I wrote for her. The words 'passing cloud' was often one that my friend used for hard times, and she would always say 'it'll pass like a passing cloud', which is where I got my inspiration.

Last one is this bird I drew for my mama. No real sentimental reason; we were just in front of a wall full of bird pics and I told my mom to pick one for me to draw and this was the one she picked, I don't remember what the name of the bird is though. This by the way as I mentioned in the previous post about the horse was drawn 4-5 months later and only at the request of my mama.

This, would be the work that I'd say I'm the most proud of in this series of drawings. I sat there drawing for around 4 to 6 hours just doing this and realized, I'm not an artist. I don't like drawing. I would rather spend my time doing other things than doing art but I did create pretty neat things. Anyways, after this one, I just stopped drawing for 4 months because, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

This is a baby tapir. Also one that I am quite happy with. Maybe because it was done at the chagrin of my younger sister. The scribble on the left says 'acha the tapir', acha being what my younger sister's nickname was; which has since morphed into miss dookie.

I wouldn't say this is my best work out of this series (this one you shall see later) but I am very fond of owls and very fond of this drawing (hence why I chose it as my profile pic).

Also another one I'm not overly fond of but I don't hate it either. This, if you couldn't seem to guess (and I don't blame you) is a fennec fox. I drew this at the request of my younger sister and quickly realised (after the attempt at the cat), that I suck at drawing furry animals. So after the half attempt of the cat, I felt like I didn't draw enough that day which is why I started this one. I think I was a bit to focused on the eyes. I wanted to really emulate the cute orbs but ended up looking too dark and soulless regardless.

Alright, if the camel was one of the works that I liked, this one I didn't like (and still hold no affection for). I just think that it would be unfair to myself to only post my nice stuff and pretend like I didn't create ugly stuff as well. This cat I also came back to. Initially I gave up halfway because I didn't know how to proceed. I drew the outline and the general geometry of the face but didn't quite know how to draw the fur. The two animals drawn prior to the cat (giraffe and camel) didn't really have complicated furriness and even the giraffe I ignored the spots and came back on a later date. Which explains why the cat looks so off, it wasn't drawn in one sitting and so the ratios and proportions of the face are just wonky. Not my best work...

A camel, drawn the very next day after the girrafe. The giraffe actually started off a lot like this camel, very jagged, even less polished, it was only a few months later where I came back and added the spots to the giraffe, but this camel I left as is. Oddly enough I quite like this one out of the whole series of animals I came to draw (as you continue scrolling). This turned out to be one of my faves. Camels are also super fascinating animals. Did you know that the water reabsorbtion system of the camel's kidney and intestines are so efficient their droppings are dry enough to immediately be used as fuel for burning fires and their urine has the consistency of syrup? I read that on Wikipedia at 3 in the morning once.

A giraffe, made using my Samsung tab. I took a random photo of a giraffe on the internet (this one looked rather funny, with the tongue in the nose and everything) and just started to draw.
