OH well i don't know what else people use formulas for??? i've only ever used them in math, are we not talking about math? is it baby formula or is there a secret third formula i don't know about??
I am a little confused? what does the formula 1 have to do with maths?

wait no but that's oh so very okay because not everybody here can sing!!! some people are killer dancers and some of them shred on an instrument and some of them kick total butt on stage without singing and some idk what they do because my brain's not wired for music tech or cinnamon top surgery but i know they're great at it. i'm heidi btw, i'm someone who can sing but that just means i'm gonna be counting on you to help keep my instrument in tip top shape. no pressure tho.
How's it going, NYADA? I'm Penny, or Nurse Penny, but Penny is also fine. I might've seen a couple of you in my office already, but I figured it'd be a good idea to introduce myself and make sure you all know where to find me if and when you need me. I'm the new on-campus nurse, found of course in the nurse's office, duh, and here to help with any of your medical needs. I'm not new to the profession, but I'm new to working in a college setting, and I'm definitely new to being surrounded by so much talent. Seriously, you're all amazing, and I'm kind of terrified because I can barely sing happy birthday on key, so I'll leave that part to all of you. I hear the school musical is happening pretty soon? So good luck to everyone with that! I hope you all get the parts you want.

this doesn't feel super happy and i'm gonna be so real, i kind of hate it. do you wanna play karen?? i was pretty pumped for her but if she'll make you happy, i'll gift her to you. we can even be super sneaky about it, i'll just accidentally eat some shellfish and have an allergic reaction on opening night. then omg who's waiting in the wings to save the day??? tina, duh. cue the standing ovation, the crowd goes wild.
congrats everyone. so super happy for all of you. i'll be rooting you on from the back. as always.

do you know who carries each and every production on their cute lil backs??? the ensemble. esp in mean girls. half the numbers would be SO MUCH LESS FUN without the ensemble boosting us all up. fearless?? whose house is this??? oh you should make sure you're in sexy, 'cause that's the song i perform and i'm gonna need the ensemble to have my back pls
well the cast list is out, how is everyone feeling about their roles? this is my last year so decided to get involved in the musical for the first time ever so I am very happy that I actually got into the ensemble which is what I auditioned for. bring on rehearsals. who did everyone get? tell me everything?

omg all i'm hearing here is that you're going to the show which is a win for you AND a win for the box office. oh, the cast too, can't forget the cast wins here. also tho it's not gonna be a trainwreck. there's no trains around these parts. that's the outsiders, you've gotta go there for a train. this one's a bus wreck. ba-dum-tss (except its totally not, everyone's gonna do amazing just you wait.)
That Mean Girls cast list is the hot mess express. There are maybe two decisions I agree with. Not that I expected less in this economy but like... Half of you can't act mean without looking constipated, and the other half of you have the mean part down but can't sing your way out of a paper bag. It's going to be a trainwreck. I'll be sitting in the front row with popcorn.

buddy pal bucko, i am also not mean or a girl but you gotta check out the show. it's a super fun one if you're down to watch two hours of terrible people and also regina's mom. P L U S if you come to see the show, then you'll never again have to say you don't know it, right??? like if you're walking by someone on the street and they're talking about mean girls the musical, you can be like omg i know that one, and that's always such a good feeling.
So the cast list for this year's fall musical is out. How was I to know Mean Girls was a musical? I am neither mean or a girl.
Ah well maybe there will be a spot for me next semester. Hope everybody's happy with their parts. I wonder what type of mean girl are you playing?

ohemgee are you kidding me??? idk who wouldn't get all hype for an f1. hearing one is like seeing a unicorn in the wild or my great uncle floyd sober at thanksgiving tho: you have to enjoy it while it lasts because it probs won't happen again for a while. the technique needed for that low a note without just gurgling it out?? spectacular, stunning, inspired. a little terrifying, ngl but that's just one of like ten dozen reasons to support your friendly neighborhood slavic oktavists. not sure what math has to do with it or what kind of formula is used but hey, that's why i'm not doing it.
I am a little worried for my obsession with the Formula 1? Like I love it. I honestly do love musicals obviously, more than anything but most weekends having the F1 to watch is just so much fun. Could be the attractive men or the competition that I relate too maybe? Anyone else watch the F1 or is it just me? If you don't what do you do with your weekends?

to boldly go where no mezzo has gone before 🪐✨🌙
or, top ten star trek episodes that play on a loop in heidi's household dorm. for this task.
10.) Bar Association, Deep Space Nine (Season 4, episode 16)
one of heidi’s ultimate comfort episodes. it kickstarts one of the few cishet ships in media that they can get behind, a capitalist alien quotes marx to unionize his brother’s bar, and also quark is there. all because rom masturbated so much it gave him a near fatal ear infection. a true showcase of the series’ absurdity.
9.) It's Only a Paper Moon, Deep Space Nine (Season 7, episode 10)
this episode sucked them in with the ella fitzgerald title, and had them bawling their eyes out by the end thanks to aron eisenberg’s incredible performance as nog as he struggles with post traumatic stress disorder following a combat-related amputation. the only time where vic fontaine is acceptable.
8.) I, Borg, The Next Generation (Season 5, episode 23)
hugh is one of heidi's all-time favorite supporting characters so of course his introduction episode is a must. on a related note, the picard episode nepenthe is their personal enemy for how it treated hugh. don't get them (me) started.
7.) Subspace Rhapsody, Strange New Worlds (Season 2, episode 9)
there is a reservoir of hate deep in heidi’s heart for this show but they’d be lying if they said this episode wasn’t a banger. a musical episode of Star Trek, led by tony-nominated actor Celia Rose Gooding as the original HBIC nyota uhura? hell yeah, this soundtrack was at the top of their spotify wrapped.
6.) Fissure Quest, Lower Decks (Season 5, episode 9)
heidi burst into tears when they realized jolene blalock was reprising the role of t'pol after almost 20 years. they pretty much blacked out when alexander siddig and andrew robinson were revealed to be playing a married version of bashir and garak. this is the most sincere love letter to star trek that’s ever been put on screen.
5.) Trials and Tribble-ations, Deep Space Nine (Season 5, episode 6)
in honor of the franchise’s 30 year anniversary, some genius decided to digitally insert the cast of DS9 into one of the most iconic episodes from the original series. not only was it a masterful work of editing, it’s also just an absolute romp of a time.
4.) The Visitor, Deep Space Nine (Season 4, episode 2)
we don’t need to talk about it. rest in peace, tony todd. next question.
3.) The Measure of a Man, The Next Generation (Season 2, episode 9)
most court-related media gets heidi's head in a tizzy, but this episode where an android's sentience and right to personhood is put on trial has always been near and dear to their heart. data (the character) is incredibly important to heidi, so seeing how much the people around fight for him never fails to move them.
2.) Mirror, Mirror, The Original Series (Season 2, episode 4)
has Star Trek completely overused the concept of the mirror universe, slowly robbing it of its potential to demonstrate the slippery slope of facism and instead turning it into a parody of itself? yes. is the OG mirrorverse episode still an absolute campy masterpiece? also yes. bless whoever decided that nichelle nichols should get to pull a dagger on george takei in this one.
honorable mentions:
Take Me Out to the Holosuite, Deep Space Nine
Scorpion pts 1 & 2, Voyager
Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad, Discovery
The entire Dominion War arc from Deep Space Nine
Demons/Terra Prime, Enterprise
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home
Rejoined, Deep Space Nine (let’s go, lesbians)
Species 10-C, Discovery
Badda-bing Badda-bang, Deep Space Nine
The City on the Edge of Forever, The Original Series
Those Old Scientists, Strange New Worlds
🥁 drumroll please 🥁
1.) In The Pale Moonlight, Deep Space Nine (season 6, episode 19.)

???? I've had like twelve things that made me smile this week, do you just want the biggest one or the most recent one oooooor? This is too much pressure pls don't make me pick.
first tea of the semester (chamomile, because we’re starting gentle) and campus already smells like pencils and potential. i spent the morning half-writing lyrics, half-people-watching outside the café. everyone looks so busy and brilliant (and maybe a little nervous too?) if you’re around and need a breather or a buddy to not do homework with, i’m your girl. i'm trying to keep a list of good things that happen this semester before things get too intense, so please tell me: what’s something small that’s made you smile this week?

Now hold up just one diddly dang second. If it's a podcast, how do we know that you're really eating fondue? We can't see you, you could be pulling a fast one on us. What if you're doing like. Corn chowder for two? Or snickers salad for two? You could not eat anything at all and we'd think you're chowing down on cheese melt the whole time.
i'm starting a podcast with the beautiful angel, daphne eaton, and it's called fondue for two - where we will eat fondue and talk about anything we want for an hour, and there will be two of us, unless we have a guest, then it will be fondue for three. but if there's another guest, then it'll be four...you get it. even if we have guests, the title will be the same. anyway, we're going to give advice sometimes on the pod, so feel free to send either of us a note if something is on your mind and we just might let you know our take on the air. is it on the air if it's pre-recorded? the first episode will be out this week and i hope you all support because if you didn't that would be bullying honestly?

NYADA CLASS OF '2026 RISE UP 🗣️show choir is so cool, it makes me wish I didn't have seven left feet. I just hope all the teams have fun because you're all total rockstars.
well summer is over for the year, which means it is time for my senior and final year of NYADA and I am ready but also not ready to say goodbye. its going to be a bittersweet year, i have had the best time here so far and made so many great and not so great years. This is the year New Directions take the school by storm I am sure of it. I am still living off the highs off this summer, so many open mic nights happened and played so many new songs to people, it was a dream. What did everyone get up to over summer? What are you most excited for this school year?
