((Well, I already kinda answered that in a previous ask, but idk what y’all are expecting. RPing is already kind of a guilty pleasure?  Honestly, the pleasure is writing a little story with other people the guilt is I either spam rapid fire in seconds or leave you on read because I got bored, forgot about it, and then feel listless about the reply because I’ve let it rot for so long. you know this. 🦋 - Has your muse changed how you approach certain situations?

No. Alois is an extension of idealized things that I like and he’s used more as a coping tool than like... inspiration for my own real life. This bad boy can hold so much personal trauma and issues. It’s more “how much knowledge can I impart via my mouthpiece, Alois”? Other than living rent free in my head and tainting all media I consume, there’s no impact of Alois.

⚡️ - How often does inspiration strike you to write your muse?

hahaha not very often, but that’s more my brain not being able to focus (especially when I don’t have the blog in my sight). Out of sight, out of mind, unfortunately. Alois lives in my head, rent free, and so does his husband and my also adopted son, Rene ( @staboteur). We’ve been RPing for so long, we know our sons and it’s easier to write for Alois and Rene than Alois by himself (though through these like 2-3 years, I know Alois better than I did before so I’m more sure of his responses and I’ve added so many bastards into the mix to flesh out their world). Honestly, RIP to all the WIPs that I have rotting in google docs about Alois and Rene. Also RIP to @staboteur for all the messages I send him at like... 2am about “IMAGINE THIS AU”. That’s how far my brain goes. This blog is to try and move beyond just Rene, but you see how successful that is lmaoooo

The cat was a curious cat, always looking for trouble. She did what a cat raised at Mann Co who only really loved the hand that fed her would do: she sniffed the offered hand and bit it. Alois anxiously walked through the living quarters, asking around if anyone had seen his cat and never getting a straight answer. He wasn’t too worried about her since she had always been a wanderer, but it had been easier on a base where he knew every spot where she could get into trouble or liked to hide. He had her favorite feather toy in his hand as well, flicking it every so often.  “Oh, Margaretha, why did you have to find a way to escape? Why couldn’t you have stayed in the room?” He headed to the kitchen, hoping that his cat was thinking more with her stomach. The next room would be the infirmary, which he was desperately hoping she wasn’t, though it would be a great way to look at the area without the pretense of an inspection. He sighed and continued his search.

Alois sighed as he set his luggage down, looking at the slightly disheveled spare room. It was just the start of July, so of course it was unbearably hot. As much as he hated these report missions, he had to admit it was nice not to have to go to battle. He would just be observing and analyzing team numbers compared to their Medic’s performance. All because he had felt the need to defend his unorthodox methods of “supporting the team off-field”, “holding team dinners”, “not experimenting on teammates”, and “having days off to bond with the team” to the Administrator. He missed his team already, but he knew they would carry out his ideas with or without him. “All to keep them safe, even if this is unpleasant, right, Margaretha?” He glanced down at the cat carrier. “Margaretha?” He called out, glancing around as he noticed the unlatched crate and then the slightly opened door. “Scheisse.” He cursed, abandoning his luggage and rushing out the door.

Alois chuckled. “You can, you just don’t usually say something that-” his mind searched for the right word. “-cheesy.”

“I can teach you how to make tarts, so long as you’re ready to actually work.” Alois teased, pressing a light kiss to the end of Rene’s nose. “As much as I like having something pretty to look at while I bake, there will be no lounging and stealing tastes from you. I have enough for you to try to make your own batch.” 

He gently led Rene to his personal kitchen back in his quarters. It made cooking enjoyable since using the main kitchen guaranteed interruption and theft. Finally breaking free from Rene, Alois pulled out a recipe sheet. “Here. Your first test. Pick out the ingredients we need while I gather the bowls and tools.”

I don’t see many trying to capture the sun. But precious metals? Rare and shining? That is far better, more sought after. Just like you.” He gently squeezed Rene’s hand and returned a smile. “You should know your worth, I’ve seen you hoard jewels and other valuables.”

“But the sun is consistent, reliable. You can always turn to the sun for warmth and light, and you know it will return even after a long storm.” Rene instinctively moved in close as well, closing the distance between himself and Alois so they were standing almost chest-to-chest. 

“And of course… The jewels are only beautiful under the right light. So obviously you have the more beautiful smile. Because you’re the better person.” Rene leaned in and pressed their foreheads together.

Alois closed his eyes. “Jewels do sparkle in the sun. Maybe I’m biased because I get to see all of your pretty smiles which brings me to the offer of a mirror.” He wrapped his arm around Rene and pulled him close, finally closing the gap between them.

“And you’re biased because you haven’t seen that many rainy days.” he murmured. He pressed another kiss to Rene’s temple and moved his head back to look at Rene.

“But I’ll just agree to disagree on this one. What brought this on?” His grin returned. “Read one of Scout’s magazines and want to try one of the lines out?”

I’ll bet your smile is prettier than mine.” He smiled and held Rene’s hand up to his lips. “A real treasure, one might say, since it’s so rare.” He pressed a kiss to Rene’s hand, not breaking eye contact, the corner of his eyes wrinkled in amusement. 

Rene made a half-heartedly derisive sound and turned his face away to hide the fact that his face was reddening slightly and, indeed, a small smile was tugging at the corners of his lips.

“How dare you turn this back on me,” he accused, although he didn’t retract his hand. “I was trying to compliment you… And you betray me like this.” Rene shifted his hand, lacing his fingers with Alois’s. “But your smile is certainly superior, because your warmth and brilliance rival the sun.”
