Hela noticed the distress that crossed her father's face as they stepped into the throne room. How could she not? He didn't do well to hide it until he had turned to her. And she noticed why as soon as Odin opened his mouth to speak. She caught the condescending tone, the underlying resentment. It made her blood boil, barely reined anger writhing within her.
She hated him. There was no lesser word for it. What had grown within Hela all those years was not just anger at the Allfather but full-blown hate. It had simmered and grown within her since she was a child, cast away to a dark, barren land, alone and afraid. All those years...and now she was finally here. But her father was right. She had to keep her head. If nothing else, she wouldn't give Odin the satisfaction in knowing he hurt her, broke her even. She would not let him see how he changed her....how he'd won, even in that small way.
As the glance her father gave her, she took a calming breath, reminded herself to think things through, to follow Loki's lead, and stepped out of the cloaking spell's safety. Her eyes locked on to Odin's form sitting upon his throne, tired but still regal, still powerful, and fire burned behind the green of them.

Hela looked towards her father, gaze hiding none of the fire behind her eyes. "Why does he even get a chance to say his piece? I didn't. None of us did. And there is no excuse for that." She kept her voice quiet but the emotion behind her words was clear. "He has nothing to say and even if he does, I don't much want to hear it."
Anything Odin deemed important enough to say was a waste of time to her. Any excuses, any attempts at manipulation, none of it meant anything to her. Unless, of course, he thought is wise to reveal to her the locations of her brothers and how to free them. But she had a feeling that if he felt it important to lock them up somewhere, he would divulge such information just because she walked into his throne room.

Sleipnir gave a quiet nicker in understanding, all eight hooves stamping against the ground. He welcomed the escape, welcomed the freedom to run - really run, at the top of his speed instead of whatever pace Odin wanted, - welcomed the ability to switch between forms once again as Loki himself had taught him. He welcomed the hope of a life of freedom.
He still remembered the cave and he still remembered running ahead of everyone else, too excited to walk at their pace to get to the one place that was all their own, where he didn't catch on to people's passing stares, where his ears didn't pick up the sounds of their whispering. He rembered playing with his brothers, and with Hela.
Another whinny escaped his mouth as he shook his head, willing his father to set him free, and to hurry and meet him. Patience was never Sleipnir's strong-suit and it had not changed under Odin's thumb. He would not wait long for whatever matters they had to be dealt with. He would not wait long for their true reunion.
