freedom could be solid like glass but burst into pieces just as quickly, it was fragile && to be cherished like life itself. it was also taken for granted by most people, their life carefree and anything but driven by control. james buchanan barnes knows how it feels like to be shackled && stripped off entirely. layer for layer, they keep removing who you used to be, manipulating your mind and replacing YOU with someone else. something else. these are the kind of monsters && demons you cannot eliminate, ignore nor even exorcise. once hydra moulded your mind. it sticks with you forever. (he could only feel little comfort that she never experienced decades of wiping && cryo. in the end, everything could have been so much worse.)

"maybe, but I was never known for good ideas anyway."

for someone who almost had been killed by her hands, he was seemingly pliant && at ease, quietly favoured the moment they finally allowed her to achieve some of her freedom again. they would keep an eye on her, something they both know, something he's been through himself, but there's a chance it will be better. time doesn’t heal all wounds, but they will eventually learn how to deal with their inner turmoil. and the soldier knew how strong she could be, both physically && psychologically.

James didn't hesitate once he moved closer towards her, allowing himself to be heard with each further step, (announcing himself,) before he'd stop a couple of inches away from her. neither she, nor anyone else, did deserve to feel crowded and pushed into a corner like some wounded animal.

"let's go home."

and once he removed his attention from her twisted fingers, he locked their eyes, flashing her a smile, relief && hope evident.

               nerves stood on end, relaying messages of panic !! of distress !! of a quelled excitement. a loud hiss was in the air, the sound of the airlock releasing to allow the door of her glass prison to open and release the beast within. – the WITCH within. doctors spoke of how she was healed now; as if what had happened to her was simply over now. had they forgotten what h.y.d.r.a. did to her? did they forget that she tried to tear the building apart, chasing after the man who, months before, she claimed to be in love with? her mind was taken from her when she’d been stolen from him. a compromised mission, it had been labeled. little did they know, she was still there — she was still alive, but her actions were controlled by anyone but herself. she could recall the hatred she’d felt towards him, and at the time she had believed it was her own. 

                they took her in once h.y.d.r.a. released her on them like a pitbull at a dogfight. sedated her  then thrust her into the very same enclosure that’d been built to withstand the force of the hulk. there, they began trying to bring her back from the grips of the torture she’d suffered. she’d been wiped clean, just as they’d done to her lover, and used as a weapon. still, with each passing day she’d slowly gotten a grip on herself and had finally been able to see through her own eyes, not through those that h.y.d.r.a. had programmed. it took months upon months of waiting, but the day to release her from her imprisonment had finally come.

                she was in the center of her cage as the door opened, but not a step was to be taken by  the little witch. fear that the other side of her would return coursed through damaged veins and left her immobile, only to stare through that of the exit before her. she could see him on the other side, her james, but she did not dare to make a move towards him. last time her fingers reached for him, it was to tear the life from his chest — the terror that it would occur again was ever-present within her. when she spoke to him, her voice came as quiet and weary as she could manage whilst fingers entangled with themselves and twisted that of a silver ring upon a finger on the right.

in part of the awesome bucky brigade’s positivity day, i am showing some appreciation to other bucky RPer, and this is one of the finest ! they’ve been so nice to me ooc and i can’t thank them enough for being a great bucky, and someone to look up to as i write my bucky. they have such a great portrayal of bucky and while i rarely follow buckies bc of my own insecurity issues writing the characters, this one is a must have bucky on my list. 

everyone should go follow them, if they are not already, because i promise you, you won’t be disappointed. 

cherry you are an awesome mun, and you portray an awesome muse, and i hope you all the happiness in the world. you are wonderful and my dash just wouldn’t be the same without you. i’m a shameless stalker and i’m not afraid to admit it! have a wonderful positivity day and yeah!

secret bucky appreciation → @lostsouldier (art credit)

Due to our beautiful BUCKY BRIGADE’S POSITIVITY DAY, introduced and organized by our wonderful @assetisms, I received the honor to gush about Shy’s extremely wonderful Bucky Barnes.

I firmly believe that each member of the Bucky Brigade managed to develop their own portrayal beyond what the Fandom provides us with. To run a canon character like Bucky Barnes means, that you are willing to understand the story of the character and to build on what is already given due to the Fandom. It’s one reason why you will never experience portrayals of canon characters who are alike each other.

An amazing example is Shy and her interpretation of Bucky Barnes. Shy puts a lot of effort and creativity into her portrayal of Bucky, creating an extremely personal and multi-dimensional muse. I want her to receive all the recognition for her incredible talent, whether it’s how seamless her characterization of Bucky looks like, or her wonderful writing itself. All in all, she deserves to be rewarded about that extremely difficult process.

She’s also an amazing person to talk with out of character and I am happy to witness her on my dashboard for such a long time already. Whenever I think about my first year along with the Marvel Fandom on tumblr, Shy is always going to be among those people I am extremely grateful to. Thank you so much for your kindness and receiving me with your open arms.

And to everyone else out there? Do not miss the opportunity to acknowledge and enjoy this wonderful Blog, I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised.

even after WAR and everything Steve has been through, there’s still the BURDEN of duty && saving lives upon his shoulders. Bucky always ADMIRED his persistence, but he also acknowledged how Steve was ruining himself with each further step.

‘  you can't carry the RESPONSIBILITY for the whole world, Steve. nor can you be the one DEFENCE for the United States, it's not easy like that to call a national hero && believe he's gonna take care of everything. you said it yourself; you've been off the map for DECADES. they still survived. the world didn't end with your ASSUMED death. can't you just try to take off one day each week, for me?

‘      ———no, i haven’t. but it’s not like i can just TAP OUT; i’ve got LIVES to save, people are DEPENDING on me. &&  i can’t just LET THEM DOWN. this is my WHOLE PURPOSE——— this is why ‘m CAPTAIN AMERICA. besides, even if i could, what’s takin’ a BREAK gonna do??? i miss HOME, is a BREAK supposed to fix that??? buck, i’ve SLEPT for 70 years but i haven’t gotten any REST. && i don’t think I CAN. && it’s so HARD to let go. y’know??? i still get NIGHTMARES.

tilting his head the SOLDIER could not quite help himself but to enjoy the given view a little longer, not yet willing to uncover the skin beneath. he knew how nudity looked like on Steve anyway. (hint; he looks just as SPECTACULAR.)

maybe a lot more of a ROMANTIC and SAP than he’d ever admit, for he always claimed to prefer a lot less committed but more open kind of relationships. everything was quite a little different with Bobbi though. it goes without saying but they ARE exclusive with each other, wouldn’t SHARE one another with other people.

“am I still allowed to be a nerd for Star Trek though? the apple pie WILL be of help either way.”

along with her initiated contact to bring them closer, he curls an arm around her waist, a goofy grin spreading across his features.

a genuine smile lights up her face, tossing her head back playfully and laughing.·❝ crabby, but smart. and such a suck-up.❞ Bobbi tugs him closer playfully by the belt loops, pretending to put some·thought into her decision.
