My Favorite Fictional Character “JOY”

The first time I saw the Pixar film “Inside Out” blows away my boredom. “Inside Out” has been applauded by critics, adored by audiences, and has become the likely front-runner for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. The film takes place inside the mind of 11-year-old Riley, who learns to wrangle five personifications of her emotions: Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust, and Anger.  

My favorite fictional character in this film is “JOY”. Joy is a  bright-colored, glowing character, very tiny, has blue-straight hair, fairer and brighter skin and has a big blue eyes. She is highly optimistic, energetic and excited, have an interest in music and dancing and she wears a floral dress. She is one of the five emotions inside the mind of Riley Andersen. She always strives to remain the joyful things inside Riley, and she is the leader of Riley’s emotions. JOY is  the very essence of happiness and perkiness and she loves to look on the bright side of things. She is the oldest of all of the emotions, as she was the first one to appear. She values Riley’s happiness to the point where she does not want any of the other emotions to influence Riley. She does not want Riley to be sad at all, even when she needs to be. Because of this, Joy is the least flexible and most controlling of the five emotions.

Why do I like JOY? Because JOY leads a pretty good life, gives happiness, brave enough to do things and prioritizing positive things. And she is highly optimistic and energetic. She makes me feel amaze because of that instances and that’s the ideal characteristic I’ve love the most. She is a yellow star, the only emotion that glows. She is the only emotion whose hair and eye color is not the same as her theme color. Joy thinks that a good life is one that never experiences hardship, but her shortsightedness keeps her from realizing the benefit of other emotions, such as sadness, fear, disgust or anger.

I Survived ..

“To achieve, is to work hard” I  bravely take the risk to work behind the long pace of my schooling. I am now in my 4 years of schooling taking up Secondary Education Major in English at the same time working at the most popular fast food chain, Mcdonalds. This opportunity helps me to grow my earnings by giving me worthwhile duties.  At the beginning, it was a nerve cracking experience like facing different customers and executing standard procedures during the service.

I calmly accepts dreadful comments of my trainers during my training. And I can say that, “You cannot really get a better job if you cannot put patient unto yourself”. The beginning is really the hardest because I need to adjust  and learn more to become not being perfect but to become better on my position as service crew. I willingly to work under pressure but the pressure squeezes me too much that gives me reason to quit. As the time goes by, I realized that it was really nice to work and being paid off with all your sweat. This awe-inspiring experience can makes me a better individual and helps me to grow professionally.

I consider this as my accomplishment because nothing builds self-esteem and self confidence like accomplishment. I never tries to dismiss from my mind that I also need to continue my studies and come to think that I need to build my future. I survived working while studying and it’s death defying. It blows my mind away while making my assignments and decays my energy. But I never quit because nothing worth having comes easy. And hard work never killed anyone.

POKEMON GO: Launching Far and Wide

             Pokemon GO is an interactive mobile game developed by Niantic that uses your phone's GPS data and clock to show Pokemon hidden near your current location.  The game installation is more than 100 million times among Android users worldwide after launching just one month ago in the U.S.  

      Pokémon GO is a free app and available for Android and iOS devices. You can look at the game world through your phone's display, which serves as a viewfinder that mixes reality with game objects. It is a new mobile game where you can walk around in real-life to catch Pokemon that takes our real-life world and adds a fictional layer to it by using your phone’s GPS, the term called "augmented reality”. The game was originally supposed to be rolled out around the world starting in Australia on July 6th, and then it would launch in North America before moving west to Europe and finally Asia. 

      The game has been referred to as a "social media phenomenon" which has brought people together from all walks of life. Walking around all day staring down at your phone may be something you used to do in any way, but it's not necessarily the safest option if you're walking around a busy city.  According to Philip Kollar and Allegra Frank, both critics agreed that Pokemon GO is an exciting social experience though they said they were not sure how long the game would last and depending on how frequently Niantic updates it, it could either last for coming years or end up as a brush fire craze that the whole gaming world is talking about for a few weeks and then is forgotten. Though Pokemon GO is popular and it’s fun but there are harmful things might happen during the game. Like, there are people get injured because they are staring into their mobile screens while walking to play the game. Twenty-First Century Education: The Rise of Digital Natives

             As the pace of change in the 21st century continues to increase and the world is becoming more interconnected and complex. Digital Natives are the young people and of course, the center of learning. Our world is changing, and in order to prepare them for this new world we need to change the way we educate them.  

       Many schools crave for innovation and focus for lifelong learning.  Also, Schools are expected to prepare students for a complex and rapidly changing world. Nowadays, learners learn more when they are involved in a playful approach to learning as it builds on their natural abilities for learning. and also a natural way for them to explore the physical and social world around them. Learning is enhanced through collaborative experiences as they create meaning together socially and culturally. The 21st education will be ultimately “learner-driven”. Learners must be able to master the content while producing, synthesizing, and evaluating information from a wide variety of subjects and sources with an understanding and respect for diverse cultures.  In order to educate in the 21st century, teachers and administrators need to cultivate and maintain the student's interest in the material by showing how this knowledge applies in the real world.

        In 21st Century Education, Teachers are already fluent in tools and technologies that enable communication and collaboration. They go beyond learning just how to do it, they also know how to facilitate it, stimulate, control, moderate and manage it.  Teachers must be able to adapt to a dynamic teaching experience. Therefore, if we want to successfully prepare the students for jobs and challenges of the future, education must start fostering each student’s creative leadership in the classroom. The teachers have an obligations to keep developing the quality and impact of education.  The 21st education will be ultimately “learner-driven”, it means digital natives are undeniably the future learners that are already equip in utilizing technologies.

Pinoy Big Brother Lucky  Season 7: BIG BREAK by: Regina Mae F. Pacudan

         Pinoy Big Brother is the pioneering and longest reality television series in the Philippines. Last July 11, 2016, Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7 opens its doors once again on its 7th Season and now aims to prove that luck is not dictated by chance, but luck works for those people who work hard to live their dreams. 

        The popular and much-awaited reality competition will be held at Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. Big Brother makes an announcement that the season will kick off with the entry of celebrity housemates namely Maccoy & Nikko, Yassi, Elisse, Nonong, Jinri, Hideo, Cha-Cha, JK and its houseguest Thuy. They confidently share offbeat experiences, candidly show teary eyes and have strong desire to complete the tasks. They already accomplished 5 out of 7 tasks in Vietnam, with houseguest Thuy. After the celebrity housemates fulfill the 7 tasks, Thuy will be part of them as a regular housemate and they have the power to pick aspiring Teen housemates for another batch.

         Thus, Pinoy Big Bother: Lucky 7 is the seventh season of Pinoy Big Brother, the Philippine version of Big Brother. It fosters Housemates whose lives mirror our own experiences and struggles in life. They have stories that inspire us, and shows off who really they are that reflect and strengthen the Filipino values. The celebrity housemates are now sliding on their own rainbows in life as they take different challenges of Big Brother. Luxurious Life in College by: Regina Mae F. Pacudan

College life is way different from secondary school life. Students come to the realization that life is not as easy as they might hope for. It is often said that college is the greatest time of one’s life and many high school students believe this and look forward to it. It is a bit difficult at first to be with people you never know. It is pleasurable for providing a large company of like minded young men of the same age and of similar interests.You can have the acquaintance of a large number of college fellows, belonging to different families, having different temperaments,qualities,habits, manners, etc.You are free to make new friends, and to learn and adopt what is good in others.

The student can enrich his mind by borrowing books of his taste from the college library.Then, there are a number of societies of various subjects which arrange regular meeting ,functions and educational trips to promote the knowledge of students and to create new areas of awareness in them. These things have great value in the training of a student's character and the development of his natural qualities. A college student begins to see life as a whole, with the help of highly educated and experienced professors. Thus, we can say that there is nothing worse than approaching the end of a semester and realizing you have procrastinated so much.

LIFE is better with Friends by: Regina Mae F. Pacudan

Friendship is a relationship where no any blood relation exists. A friend is a most precious gift to all of us. We should always understand its importance and give value without having any misunderstanding. And I found a lots of friends but not all of them are good friends. Here’s my girl group called Hapsay Girlfriends. They are my friends since high school but some of them in college. We named our group as “Hapsay Girls” when Oca Moreno starts to make our city be in "hapsay". It's very funny but realistic. 

They happen as my best friends and make my life complete. These are my Hapsay Girls namely Jenny Mae, Maris, Jenny, Louise Lane, Paulyn, Marjoie, Via, Vanessa, Cassy and Vaniza. They are very beautiful, smart, funny, clumsy, diligent, responsible, fabulous, charming, confident and respectful individual.  They are my friends that really looks up to me when the rest of the world is looking down, they share the same interests and feelings, they laugh so hard, they act so immature but  despite all our flaws and imperfections we accept each other. As we all know that friends are the most precious gift in life and the purest form of relation. Well, friends are the real supporter in life who teaches us how to face difficulties in life. In fact, a good friend means something different for everybody.

Thus, I had the best girl group ever and I'm thankful that God gives me these beautiful and young ladies. My Hapsay Girls go on forever with the mutual trusts and proper understandings. They are now in different path and pursuing their careers in life. Some of them take the road to success as they find a stable job and some are now striving hard to complete their achievements in College.

PHINMA Cagayan de Oro College is one of the rising  institution in Cagayan de Oro City. The school is constantly producing Topnotchers and professionals. Obviously, PHINMA COC provides quality education and gives social awareness. This year PHINMA Cagayan de Oro College offers Senior High School and this means that PHINMA-COC is ready to welcome Senior High School implemented by DepEd.

The school offers courses and other  programs such as Academic Track and Technical-Vocational-Livelihood Track. In addition, there are  versatile strands offered such as STEM, ABM, HUMMS and GAS leading to different career path. Of course, DepEd subsidize by the government so Senior High School is free from tuition fees and miscellaneous. The person who inspired me

In my life there are so many people and things that serves as huge influence to me. There are person in my life that inspire me to do something or just astonishes me with their achievements. The person that inspire me is Efren Penaflorida. He was born into a poor family and grew up next to a city dump site in the slums of the Philippines. He completed his elementary and high school education through the help of scholarships and financial assistance, and received several class awards and honors.  At the age of 16, Efren Peñaflorida started a youth group in his high school aimed at diverting students’ attention away from street gangs, and towards community activism and personal development. They created Dynamic Teen Company to encourage and divert childrens in the slum area to become a well educated individual.

Efren Penaflorida is a Filipino teacher and social worker. He has an average height, straight-black hair, tan skin and wears simple casual shirts and pants.   He is consider as a Modern Day Hero.  By his simple act, he gives hope to people everywhere. He believes that everyone is special even the most low. What are the things that makes me inspire him? First, he is responsible for creating the pushcart classrooms, who provides education for those who couldn’t afford it. Second, the endeavor that he always possess to teach the young ones in writing, reading and speech skills. And third, he is a great role model and he exhibits great pride and nationalism. I admire him because he possesses the best and healthy attitude and personality. He goes around the neighborhood pushing a mobile classroom to peddle the love for education. He left his well-paying job as a private school teacher to devote all of his time and effort to his Kariton Classroom project while his neighbors mock him. He is courageous as a lion and keeps his fingers on the pulse to be successful on his career.

Hence, Efren Penaflorida is one of the inspiring person who shared wisdom towards those hopeless children in the streets. He is a responsible, kind, industrious and  exhibits great pride and nationalism. He keeps his fingers on the pulse to be successful in teaching children and works like a charm on his career. Through his “Kariton Classroom”, he showers faith and hope to those children who can’t afford to go to school and to those who miss education.

My Special Love: Edward the man

When people think of the word relationship, many things come to our mind like love relationship, friendship or even the relationship shared between you and your family. And I can say that few have ever find their love and I’m one of that. The person I am choosing to describe is my adorable boyfriend. The perfect man is said to be hard to find, but I believe there is someone for every person. Sometimes a man is not perfect when you meet him, but he may have some qualities you like.

My boyfriend is Edward Abejo Nemil, an Electrical and Technology Management student at Mindanao University of Science and Technology. He is an amazing guy, gentleman, sweet, supportive, fascinating, talented and courageous. Physically, he has a quality of being “chinito”, a fair skin, and a lanky guy. He has a charismatic personality that makes me fall head over heels in love. He has eyes that can make me drown every time I look into him. He catches my eyes without knowing why. I believe it starts when he plays the drum perfectly and sang a song nicely . He wears nice clothing like a boy next door type of clothing, a casual shirt, collared, long-sleeves, light colored shirts and jeans. His favorite color is white, he likes to play a drum and currently learning to play a guitar. He has a pet “a cat”, he loves to eat chocolates and cheesy food and he loves to play dota as well. We’ve been together with Edward for already 7 months.  He is very open with me at all times, and able to tell me everything what he does and what he knows. I can talk anything to him for example my problems, happiness, sadness, and so on.  The simple pleasures that “WE” share includes loving me for who I am, holding my hand every time we cross the roads, patiently waits me in school after his class, and treat oneself to indulge everything. The things that he does to make me smile is to sang a song as if he has a golden voice. He has an abundance of self-respect. He does not follow the crowd to please others. He is a pretty hard working guy most of the time and he strives hard to make his studies be successful. I feel like heaven when she holds me, she’s just like an angel sent from above to take care of me and to love me. When we fight, I always be the winner because he always swallow his pride and he just sit at the side, stays calm, very quiet and listens to my  combative and irritable speeches. One thing I’ve admire him is perseverance. And my love for him grows as my sadness fades away. Edward and I are so in love that we are inseparable.

Hence,  I believe love is a priceless diamond because a diamond has thousands of reflections and each reflection represents a meaning of love. We’ve been together with Edward for already 7 months. God takes us this further for a reason and I know everything will be enduring.  Edward is an amazing guy, very courageous in terms of his love, studies and family, sweet, kind and caring person. He shows healthy traits and vigorous love to me. I’m very thankful as her girlfriend because he is responsible enough to make our relationship be wealthy evermore and he is special to me for that reasons. “The perfect man is said to be hard to find, but I believe there is someone for every person” and Edward comes to my life.

IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME Theme: Greatest Regret

I know everyone has that one moment in their life where they wish they could turn back time.  I have done a lot of things I regret and we all do. Regret is a feeling that can strike us without warning. The regret tends to manifest itself when I feel happy or when I am around the people I love.

I have my very best friend way back in my preschool years. At the age of five years old, I met my first best friend. She is “Megan”, a very cute and intelligent girl. Megan and I are always together no matter where we are. We go to go our school library and read books together. We have so many inside jokes that nobody would understand. We’re still young at that time and so many childish things we’ve done. We mess up, we laugh, we play and there are times that we’ve been to struggles that both of us never talk for an hour. We think so alike and its like were communicating with our minds. At the same time were always thinking the same thing or have the same idea. It is very fun and fantastic. But one day I lose her, I never thought that it did happen to her. She died and I can’t believe it. I started crying and could not stop. Dengue cause her life to death and it’s a warmest killer of life. She was a friend that I respected more than a sister and suddenly she is not here anymore. I’ve regret because I was not there when she was in the hospital and  I realize it would be so hard to overcome the feeling that she left with me. We were friends, not just regular friends, but best friends. If I could turn back time I wish I would be there for her and making her to smile besides those painful things she experienced. I would hug her for her very last breath and say thank to all the things she have done to me.

I am lucky enough to have true friend like Megan.  Megan is a great help to me in my studies.  She’s a friend that I could and will never forget. Hence, losing a best friend was really rough on me but I’ve learned, I should be happy for her for the life she had lived. I’ve learned to see what is truly important and what I need to fight for. I found out that I have some really great friends that I can count on forever. I valued our friendship and even at her grave, I light a candle and said “Hi Megan? How was your day?. And I can say that life is to be cherish because we never know what happen next.

1. I once thought that fairy was for real. They are very cute and the way they dress it’s very beautiful. I feel amaze about the fairies sprinkling there magical powers onto barbie to have a beautiful and elegant dress. When I was a child I am hoping that fairies blow their power to make me a princess too. But I found out it’s just a fantasy animated movie and fairies are just a mythical creatures.

2.  There is one thing I cannot live without. And Everyone has that one thing they can’t live with in life. For me, I can’t live without joy because joy makes me look forward to life.  “Joy” is a great purifier that burns away the poisons of my life and “Joy” is the highest expression of Love. I feel relieve and happy that joy comes to my life. I become what I think and when I live with joy I attain my wisdom.

3.  Past refers to a time that has been done. There are things that happen in the past that different from the present time. Things are different now and then/ and its strange and unfamiliar. Time is going forward and its ever changing. It’s true what Rushdie said: the past is a foreign country; they do things differently there.

4. We are all afraid of death because we want to stay alive. Death comes without making a sound and its unavoidable. We think we’re going to sleep well but from one moment to the next part nobody knows what will happen. There is a murderer of life at night  but no one knows. Death comes like a thief in the night.

“A Dog’s Life by Regina Mae F. Pacudan

A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself. The only creatures that are evolved enough to convey pure love are dogs like me.  I would experience the world in a completely different way because the people who once seems threatening to me would transform into my greatest partner.

I poop, I sleep, I bark, I dance, I cry and enjoys the journey of my life. Everyday when I woke up, the first thing I’ve saw is the brightest rays of Mr. Sun. I smiled and said “Hello Mr. Sun?” Thank you for this another day of my life. The smile on my face it doesn’t mean I have a perfect life, it’s just a reflection that I have a better life. I have the faith that one day my life would be perfect. There are times that I feel disappointed and getting mad because I feel that fail to solve the quest of my life. The minute I think of giving up I just bark and bark saying “I’m tired”. When fail to feel the success I end up like that, it seems that I don’t dare to face the challenge of my life.

But one day I heard some voices, calling my name “Regina?”. I bark, saying “Yes, I’m here”, I was surprised that everyone is looking at me and seeing their happy faces. I just realize that disappointments are just God’s way of saying I’ve got something better. I just forget that I have a family waiting for me in the aisle, hugs me with love and holding me tight, saying “Life is too short, smile while you still have chance to live.”. I cried, saying “some of life’s best lessons are learned at the worst time”. I have my mom, my dad and my brothers helping me to become stronger. I am the man’s best friend so I should show to them that I am strong and I can protect them no matter what. I should stand firm and live every moments. I must be like superman so that I can fly high so as my goals in life and has the power to do my task successfully and completely.
