REQUIREMENTS: - Kinda like Android Material UI but more suited for a "modern" PC desktop [ I like Inter ExtraLight for example :3 ]

or: - something good for icons. tray, notifications, you get the gist [ - i know nerdfonts and i can guide myself through their patcher so combining them with a "sleek" main font should be no problem. Wanna get more into python stuff anyways. ]

[ but wait, there's more: - i'm getting cozy with a mono font on my current setup, so if there's any that give of a more like "coffee house vibes and today is cocoa day" vibe, they're also very much appreciated OwO # ^> again, a threat.]

Helvetica detected, unfortunately!!

Help me name the Lufthansa custom typeface!

In case anyone forgot, the font family Lufthansa uses in their material is actually a custom typeface heavily based on Helvetica, which is intended to replace their former typeface of choice, Helvetica. It looks like Helvetica.

Actually, I think I even prefer the Helvetica.

Anyway, they don't seem to have a name for it, so help me pick one! I know you're all more creative than Lufthansa.

I'll accept the results of the poll with grace, unless one of you suggests something really good. Please do make suggestions. I'm struggling to come up with something as good as the concept of commissioning a new, worse version of Helvetica is bad.

Grotesque font detected!

We like to use national and world holidays to highlight items in our museum for our videos. Sometimes we really stretch the purpose of the “holiday” to fit a topic that is unrelated. Today is one of those days because May 22nd is World Goth Day!

For today, Howard letterpress printed the word “Gothic” while discussing the Gothic style of fonts, which can also be referred to as Grotesque or San Serif. The font used is Franklin Gothic 90 point font, which is the largest metal type we have in our print shop at the Sacramento History Museum. This was printed with black rubber base ink using our Washington hand press.

Grotesque font spotted! Historical font revival is very cool. Keep up the good work!

Runic Grotesque Elongated was a wood typeface made at the turn of the 19th century. It had a bold style and tight spacing, perfect for titles and posters.

This digital font is my recreation of that typeface, redrawn using the incomplete examples that survive. In addition to recreating the historical character set, I have added many characters now considered standard, basic ligatures, and more. there are 204 total characters in my extended font.
