Stardew Valley Cottage Living Challenge by @hemlocksims

Meet Miranda Turner and Adalynn Turner. In this challenge we are only supposed to start with 1 sim but I decided to have two sims. Miranda and Adalynn used to live in the city but decided to move to Henford on Bagley after they had enough money to buy a plot of land there. Miranda lost both her parents at a young age so Adalynn, her grandmother practically raised her. They used all their money to buy a small cottage on a large plot of land so they started this challenge with 0 simoleons per the challenge rules. 

Miranda started with the curator aspiration and she loves the outdoors, is a foodie, and is an animal enthusiast. 

Adalynn has the successful lineage aspiration. She is childish, a foodie, and good. 

In this challenge their house is supposed to have three lot challenges: simple living, off the grid, and wild foxes. They also start off with three garden plots that we can only plant in. There are bundles we have to compete in order to unlock more stuff. We have to also max out our friendship with the various villagers in HoB and complete 3 errands for each. We are supposed to start this challenge in spring but because I play rotationally I’m starting it in winter.

Amelia Godwin was accustomed to being alone. She spent most of her days tending to the crops that kept her fed or trading the small excess she was able to grow for necessities. While the townsfolk would buy her crops and tinctures, the Godwin family had always been treated as outcasts and Amelia was no different. When her parents died, Amelia had no one to turn to for help, so she remained at her family's cabin, surviving on what she was able to grow and forage.

Amelia truly loved her small farm tucked away at the edge of the wildwood forest. Ever since the deaths of her parents, she avoided venturing into the wildwoods themselves, keeping to the edges of the forest to collect the herbs and ingredients she needed to brew the traditional remedies and tinctures that had been passed down by generations of Godwins.

Amelia had no intention of leaving her family's cabin where her parents had raised her in a household full of love, teaching her how to care for the land and survive on the gifts nature willingly gave if you knew where to look. But the looming, treacherous presence of the wildwoods was always all around her. She knew one thing for certain: death flourished in the wildwoods.

The Fatal Flaws Legacy Challenge

The premise of this challenge is that each generation is confronted with a “fatal flaw” that they either decide to overcome or revel in. The reason I wrote this challenge was because I realized that the sims I enjoyed playing most were ones with “negative” traits. I had a lot of fun writing this, so I hope at least one other person has fun playing it :)  Google Doc Link

Notes:

This challenge is greatly improved by any mods that make actually traits matter, e.g. personality please, roburky’s meaningful stories.

This challenge is more story-based than game-play based, though there’s elements of both

You don’t need to complete the aspirations! They’re only meant as a guide + are also there for the sake of the aspiration trait.

The only generations that really require an expansion pack are gen 4: squeamish, because that particular trait comes from outdoor retreat and gen 7: lazy, because it requires you to adopt animals.

Feel free to go to university any generation if you feel like it suits your sim’s story/you want to.

Generation One: Mean

you didn’t grow up in the happiest or most functional of households. and so you moved out as soon as you could. now it’s just you, your dog, and your shitty job. you’re kind of an asshole, but you can’t help it – it’s a deep-seated defense mechanism from your past. other people can’t hurt you if you hurt them first, right? but as you grow older, you start to realise that, more than anything, you want the loving family you never had. if only you could find someone who could make it past your terrible social skills in order to see the big heart you have hidden underneath.

traits: mean, dog lover (base game: gloomy) + family orientated (YA)

aspiration: big happy family

career: retail + can pick another part time career as an adult on top of that (optional)

rules

start the generation as a teen on an empty lot.

drop out of high school using a mod, or just simply don’t go.

make money from the retail career + dumpster diving, fishing, collectibles, anything, just never get a proper full time job.

be mean to everyone you met until you meet you spouse.

when you age up into young adult, meet and woo a sim of your choice (optional: they have the good trait.)

have at least three kids and become at least ‘friends’ level relationship     with all of them.

Cats and Dogs: have a dog with the friendly trait, become companions with them.

Parenthood: if you want an extra challenge, age up from teenager to have the insensitive trait from negative empathy.
