the proper way to recover the nonorganic parts from either a recently-dead construct or a living one with irreparable neurological damage, would be with proteolytic enzymes, not acid. Which COULD Look like being dunked in a vat of liquid, but the process would take hours rather than seconds, and Not be as dramatically bubbly, and harvesting the stuff wouldn't involve taking apart a lump of coal, but fishing/sifting small pieces out of the Soup.

You know, the way SecUnit imagines being put in an acid bath (in the show) is pretty much exactly how it really is, which implies that it's seen it somehow. But when it does happen after the memory wipe, it seems confused as to what is happening, which implies that this isn't knowledge that's coded into sec units, and they learn it later. I don't think this is something from an education module or part of their instructions or something. There are sec units in that room. I think the company has each sec unit take that duty for a while before they're rented to clients, just to make sure they know what their ultimate fate will be if they can't function correctly. Memory-wiped SecUnit hasn't done it yet because it's its first day.
