I would just like to point out how in the show, they still manage to give cedric a background plot and a view into his family. like it shows us why cedric may want the amulet because of how much he’s been belittled by his father and cordelia in the past and how his only slight supporter was his mum, meaning his influence would’ve came from the want to show goodwin that he’s capable of something and through winifred evilness which we see when she’s first introduced.

it’s also cool how after his family start to see cedric for the greatness he can actually conjure up, he begins to have more positive morals while also having the reason of sofia actually being a soft spot for him later on.

it’s just something that makes me love the show even more as it’s letting us almost justify cedric’s decisions and also feel more satisfied with his character development seeing as family is a major impact for people decisions and motives.
