My grandfather doesn’t use the word “calories” when talking about food…he uses the word “value” instead. I was eating fruit for lunch and he said “if you’re going for a run later you need something more valuable”. I sat there for a while just thinking about the way he said that. Change out a negative word with a positive one and you’ll see start seeing positive change.

Celebrate the longest run of X months, the fastest mile, the healthiest day, etc. Some days will inevitably be better or worse than others, and you have to do all the little things with even more of an emphasis. The absolute last thing I wanted to do was workout today.
I was brain dead from a stressful day at school, I was in a bad mood, and I just didn’t feel like putting in the work and effort to have a good workout even though I knew it would make me feel better.
Then I saw this quote “The difference between a successful person and someone who is not is that the successful person does what needs to be done, even when they don’t feel like it.”
That’s all I needed to see. I found some energy, went and killed shoulders, made a to do list while finishing with cardio, then was crazy productive for the rest of the night.
Be the successful person.
