Kat Graham believes systemic racism is why Bamon never happened. She is correct.

I saw some of my mutuals and fellow Bonnie fans discuss this video and felt prompted to share this. This panel was on March 15th, 2025. Kat believes Enzo was only chosen for Bonnie because he was not as popular as Damon was (applies for Jeremy as well.) While this conversation is about Bamon this heavily implies her feelings towards Bonnie's other romantic pairings that Kat was interested in that were pitched by her male peers.

Klaus loved witches and Greta Martin was devoted to him (the relationship was sexual) Joseph was aware of Klaus attraction/circle of witches and wanted to work with Kat more than what he gotten. Bonnie was vulnerable from the issues with her friends and parents. Klonnie was pitched and would have made sense with the storylines. Klaus attraction and kinship to witches was retconned and ignored. All done to avoid having Bonnie be with a popular character while using those racist motivations in creating that other Klaus ship that became popular in season 3.

The sad truth is Bonnie was never going to get "the guy" or "the girl" because of racism. Those dynamics and relationships for Bonnie was never going to work not because of who Bonnie was or who the other partner was. But, because of Hollywood/TVD's writing room (Julie, Dries, etc..)weren't going to allow them to work for her. Those writers made exceptions for everyone but couldn't with Bonnie or Kat.

Okay, Butch, he has got his Buttercup addiction already. But does she feel something towards him, that she is able to identify? Or, knowing her, she might be like “Oh, come on, Buttercup. You can’t like him, I mean, just look at him”, or she might be feeling something too, but unaware. What’s your opinion? And what do you think will happen when one of them realizes?

Buttercup is not emotionally unintelligent! She’s purposely isnt doing certain things because she’s scared it might do a number on their relationship. Buttercup has thought about him as more than friends on more than one occasion I think the dead ringer was the whole jacket fiasco! And the woods thing she def thinks their relationship is not like the other guys and she knows why. we know why. other people probably smell it on those two and are too scared to ask why.

the only one who doesn’t quite understand is butch I would say he knows it’s not “normal” but he’s not normal and she’s not normal and no one around him is normal so he’s brushing it off and pushing it down and avoiding it and thinks probably just in his head.

I think buttercup is scared to open up completely because of what happened with her previous relationship. I think because they’re both people who are rough and physically adjusted there almost is like this like wall they’re hitting all the times when it comes to emotional intimacy which buttercup is not very good at (allegedly) and butch doesn’t even know what that is.

Also I have a (unpunctuated) thought☝️🤨 this is not like some big brain stuff but I do think it’s interesting since I do go in on butch quite a lot because he’s socialized poorly LOL but I think buttercup kinda funny she’s is kinda teaching (I don’t think she’s doing it on purpose) butch how to be emotionally intelligent through friendship but because she’s kinda into him she does these things that come off as romantic but then being like STOP you’re not my wife you bitch🤨🤚 and then him who now only knows emotional intimacy through a FRIEND and someone who is kinda into him that he’s kinda into as well (but doesn’t know because he has never experienced it before) is VERY CONFUSING when he can’t be too possessive or too intimate according to her! But again ACCORDING TO HER IS NOT CONSISTENT BECAUSE SHE LIKES HIM LMAO so butch in this situation has no choice but to watch her every move and find out what she hates and likes because he’s such an extreme person idk if this is making any sense but I do think buttercup is having making it impossible for him not to fall in love with her
