The throne & castle were built for Targaryens and her second cousin (a Baratheon) killed her brother, usurped her other brother then married the sister of her father's killer who is also the daughter of the man who killed her good-sister, niece & nephew. She was raised in hiding because her cousin sent men to try to capture her when she was an infant. She's sold to a warlord & raped in episode 1 in her brother's attempt to get back the throne.

the most annoying people are people who don't understand storytelling. they be like "oooo how convenient that this thing happened to the main character in the very beginning". yeah no shit. that's why the story begins here
