dont remember if i ever shared these test sentences from my turandot english con...lang? dialect? either way. example sentences are a bit archaic bc i only have so much translated rn lol.

sound changes are based upon the before and after results of the great vowel shift, specifically from the late 1500s to the early 1600s (when I estimate earthen english separated from turandot english). orthographic changes (the idea being that modern orthographic rules would not have made their way down to the inner world. obviously) are such that final -e is used in conjunction w/ a prior vowel to symbolize a long form. we do this in english w/ most words ending in -e already but in turandot english it's for every long vowel. actually there are so many orthographic changes i dont think i can list them all reliably here

i have a theory abt when exactly the inner world stopped being connected to the outer world-- or at least when they stopped receiving visiting explorers-- and it's based mostly in the language the Turandot do/don't recognize (in the books). So, for example, the oldest word Hunter uses in the books that the Turandot do explicitly understand (excluding obvious English staples like "the" and "is") is "quagmire," both the literal meaning and the origin of the name of Quagmiro island.

BUT, then they don't understand the word "neighborhood."

"Quagmire" is first attested around 1550 to 1570, and "neighborhood," surprisingly, is attested only 50ish years later in 1620! So, at some point between 1570 and 1620, regular travel (or at least semi-regular) from the outer world to the inner stopped, and became the stuff of legend.

was trying to remove the vocals from the spider riders english theme song and accidentally discovered something interesting about how the original audio (taken from the now-defunct official website) was mixed, particularly how apparently certain pieces of the vocals were mixed on separate tracks from the main vocal– which isn’t strange, except that since the main vocals disappear and the secondary vocals don’t it leads me to think each track was mixed down at different bit rates? which is. a decision

Using the waybackmachine a while back (baddum tsch) I was able to get a set of 18 background art pieces from the now-defunct official website’s .swf container; unfortunately they are all around 200x200 pixels, aka incredibly small and artifacted. Now, using neural network enlargement thanks to letsenhance.io I’ve been able to get a much closer look at some of them! Of course, these are scaled using a neural network and as such aren’t exactly 1:1 in terms of accuracy to what the originals would’ve looked like in full resolution, but they sure are pretty.

I don’t know how many people other than me are gonna be interested, especially without subtitles, but I found the Arabic dub of Spider Riders!

Unfortunately it’s amidst a list of other Arabic dubbed cartoons, and on ok.ru it’s tough to find them in order, so you’ll have to look through the list for the links(list)

It’s easy though! Just ctrl+f SpiderRiders (no space) and there’ll be a bunch of results
