Balto then became more and more excited by the second. He was eager to be able to spend time wit the husky. Pleased to hear that she willing to take him up on his offer he responded; "Yep. It isn't exactly a place like where you live Jenna, but it's home. Just me an' Boris. Well 'course we do get visits from Muk and Luk on occasion." Balto never cared too much for a home like the humans and dogs around the town seemed to have-he was used to the harsh decreesing temperatures that Nome was often known for and he often did his best to stay warm though that did prove rather difficult at times. Even still, he was grateful for the home Boris had managed find for them since when he was a pup. Listening to Jenna speak of her humans, his pointed ears began to perk up once more. "It's true, it has been a long day after all, they should be asleep in no time" He said matter of factly. "Right. I'll show ya 'round the boat, we can chase sticks by the moonlight and I'll have ya back in no time."

Balto had always been rather fond of Jenna though he was always too scared or shy to appoach her. He feared what the humans may do should they find them together for all they ever really saw in him was a 'halfbreed'. The neighboring dogs have been no different if not a bit harsher than the humans had been to him. Jenna was different though and now that he had proved himself to everyone he had much more freedom in seeing the huskey whenever he wanted to really. She had made him feel so secure, so wanted. It was because of her he had been able to save the kids, of that he was sure. Of course he had been the one doing all the running he knew, but if it hadn't been for Jenna he would be at a loss. It felt nice having someone who wanted him, believed in him.

"You got it." He said with a charming smile in her direction. And with that he headed for the direction of his shipwrecked home with the scarlet hound following closely behind him.

In all honesty, he wasn’t sure if he would be able to accomplish his goal, that is-get the medicine safely back home, saving the kids. He had always been particularily fond of Jenna’s girl Rosie. She was always such a sweet little huan and she always seemed to take good care of Jenna. It saddened him greatly finding out about the outbreak of iilness with so many of the children of Nome. It was true that Jenna had always been cheering for him and that alone was enough to give him the strength he need to acheive that goal and become accepted, it was all because of her in his eyes. Still keeping his gaze locked on hers he wided his mouth some as she spoke his own words back to him when they had fended off the grizzly. He smiled fondly at her then.

He really couldn’t believe a dog like her thought so highly of him, he often hoped that she would of course. His shyness got the better of him  for the most part whenever he had tried to approach her before. It was then that he was slowly beginning to realize that perhaps there was something great about him, maybe he couldn’t see it in himself but Jenna and his friends sure seemed to and he was finally accepted by the humans as well. He had been truly happy for give or take the first time in a while and he still couldn’t take his eyes off of Jenna.

The sun had just begun to go down and the lights around the neighboring houses were just turning on, the brightness of them falling to the snow where the two canines standed. Dusk was always an exciting time for Balto. It was oftentimes when he would hunt for food and also could look at the sky it was so stellar to look at-he thought of how Jenna would feel about watching them with him sometime. When suddenly, she began wagging her tail and walking away a bit excited. Recalling the night he’d asked her catch sticks by the moonlight..he had thought it nothing more than a shot in the dark if anything but it was worth a shot.

“Yeah? Ya wanna go down to the boat with me?” His own tail now swaying happily as well. “Will the humans notice you’re not here though?” He asked a bit unsure.

halfbreed-prince started following you

As Balto had continued walking he suddenly stopped wondering where this was, it sure didn't look anything like Nome.  He then lifted his head and began sniffing the air-he caught the scent of sog and something he was rather unfamiliar with but couldn't quite seem to place. Upon turning around he noticed a tall figure standing before him. He had the appearence of a human for the most part apart from a pair of dog-like ears atop his head. He gave a small whine and began walking towards him.

Balto gave a short whine when the blonde began petting the top of his head. He tilted his head some, getting a better look at him, rather confused.

Taking in the boy’s overall appearence the canine couldn’t help but feel he was friendly and so didn’t hesitate walking up to him carefully.
