"Probably, but I think she's busy right now." Jubilee groaned and lay back on the couch, desperately wishing the aircon was more effective at cooling her off.

"We got any of that vegan ice cream left?"

Andi is in a similar state of dress, no dark hoodies and jeans, just a baggy tank top and shorts. "Much as I'm admiring the view... This heat needs to chill." She whined. "Think Storm can make a blizzard?"

It was rare to see Jubilee without her iconic coat, but it seemed the summer heat was as merciless as ever, so for now she was just wearing a purple tank top and a pair of denim shorts.

"So, you guys have been killed off before, right? How long does it usually last?"

"Uh... it varies from person to person. Last time I died it only lasted a couple issues, but it was in the middle of an event so I don't know if that really counts."

"Besides, I don't wanna talk about that period. I'm pretty sure the writers hated me for a while there..."

"Mine lasted about... six months, give or take? They one-shotted me at the beginning of an event, and didn't bring me back until it was almost over. It kinda sucked, honestly."

"Yikes... At least I'm sticking around as a ghost, I guess, but I'm really hoping I don't have to wait THAT long before the inevitable resurrection..."

"I wouldn't worry about it. You're the main character, you'll be back in action by the end of the run."

"Yeah, I know, guess I'm just a little nervous cause it's my first time dying for real. Y'know, not counting alternate universe variants."

"Oh, yeah, obviously. Killing off a variant in an alternate universe doesn't impact the main continuity, so I don't think anybody counts that."

"But yeah, I get it. Getting killed off for the first time can be a little nerve-racking, even if you know it's not gonna stick. Either way, welcome to the club."

"Well, even if the comics suck right now, at least we'll always have 20-something weirdos on failing blogging websites pretending to be us, right?"

Imagine being so pissed off about a black teenage girl TEMPORARILY replacing Tony Stark that you feel the need to rewrite her as a supervillain and INSIST that it's the only way her character could possibly be salvaged

Like, as bad as her initial run was, we can all agree that's objectively fucking weird right?

EDIT: Also, yes, stating the obvious. It was racism. A lot of these grifters are just blatantly and openly racist when it comes to non-white characters they don't like. And I feel very confident calling them "grifters", because they've repeatedly demonstrated they don't know what the term "legacy character" actually means, which a real comic book fan WOULD know.

The Night Gwen Stacy Died was 52 years ago. It's time to fucking move on from it already.

Gwenpool's death pretty obviously isn't gonna stick. Like, it's a limited series, and she's the main character, she's obviously gonna be back by the end of it.

Especially since issue 5's solicitations also indicate that Spider-Man and Hawkeye (presumably Kate?) also die, and at the very least Marvel's not gonna let Spidey's death stick, especially when he has his own ongoings atm.

But yeah, the whole evil resurrected Gwen Stacy X-31 thing? Yeah, not here for it, it's tacky, tasteless, stupid, and yet another sign that Marvel are running out of good ideas
