“Oh, I’m sorry. I get what you’re saying now. Uh    are you sure this is a good idea though? You know, after what happened to you maybe we should... find another way to engage in a social activity together that doesn’t involve getting lost in a era we don’t belong to.”

She makes sure it comes out as polite as she can, afraid that it may offend Quinn. A quick glance at the blonde’s face makes Rachel wonder if she has lost the ability to read her expressions or Quinn has just gotten better at wearing her mask, even around Rachel now. “It’s not that I don’t trust you, but ... it happened once, it could happen again.”

Quinn should know by now that Rachel rarely if ever walked on the wild side. It isn’t as if she were proposing that they run away for good, or for a long period of time. “Rachel, I’m not asking for your hand in marriage,” she says with a bit of a chuckle. “I’m just asking if you want to go with me for a little while. Not forever.” Though she’d been told not to test her new powers until she’d seen a doctor, she had done small things such as, push time up or back a few minutes. She’d started out with just a few seconds. Then she’d gone into a few minute’s time.

“I’m not thinking of running away, Rachel. I’m not asking that. I was just asking if you wanted to go on a little trip.” Her eyes roll in her sockets when Rachel tells her that she h as to be back at a certain time. “I think that you’re not quite grasping the idea of I can travel in time, thus I can bring you back to this moment. So, Berry, where is it that you’d like to go?” she asks once more hoping that Rachel understood she didn’t mean permanently.

Actually, you’re wrong. 

One thing most people don’t know about Rachel Berry (but they would if paps and magazines didn’t only talked about how much of a diva who demands professionalism but is always storming out of rehearsals she is) is that I have never-ending energy. I woke up at five in the morning and I only sit or lay down before ten pm if it is what my role is doing. So, because I’m always in movement I don’t really get to wear my sweaters that often unless it’s winter.

That’s true, sister. There’s nothing like winter fashion. Are you kidding me? I’m sure you look adorable. But, that doesn’t have mean we have to be covered in snow to wear cute sweaters, am I right? 

Shoveling is just a pain in the butt for me.

“Quinn... this is not a good time to travel through the years, trust me.” She’s laughing as she say it, and spreads both hands in a dismissive gesture like Quinn just told her the joke of the year. Thing is, when she turns to the blonde and their eyes meet, Rachel realizes she’s talking seriously. “Quinn?” Rachel asks tentatively, looking at her like she’ll reveal that this is, in fact, a joke any moment now. 

“You can’t be serious.” She says after a moment, controlling the tone of her voice so it won’t sound as harsh as it did in her head. “Running away is a very attractice idea right now, I know that. And there isn’t anything that I wouldn’t give to leave this awful, awful world we currently live in with you but... we can’t. I can’t. The girls and I... we tried, you know it. But then we realized we have to fight for this world, for our world. To keep it, you know? And I actually have an interview later today with one of the kids we are trying to recruit and Santana would mostly definitely kill me if I didn’t follow our plans. I’m sorry, Q.”

A clean bill of health is what Quinn Fabray had gotten from the doctor, and all of her memories from her time spent in the sixties. She’d remembered in painful detail that she’d met a guy with powers and this guy was connected somehow to her. He was a friend of her parents, her real parents. Up until this point, she’d always thought that parents she had were indeed her mother and father, but they weren’t. It was like a case of Harry Potter. They were her Aunt and Uncle. Quinn knew this now because she’d not just visited the sixties, but early 90s as well. She’d followed her parents’ timeline yet she couldn’t remember. It was because they;d made her forget. They’d realized who she was, her father could read minds, and her mother could erase memories. And they had. All for the sake of not hurting her with the knowledge of what she’d stumbled upon.

Quinn stood in the now empty room where she had gotten checked out with the woman that had insisted that she do so, Rachel Berry @herorachelberry. She’d been given the go ahead to practice her powers and her newfound ability. Looking to Rachel, she asked, “If you could go to any year, any time where would you go?” she wondered. She, herself couldn’t think of any good places to travel. Depending on Rachel’s answer, she might consider taking her along for the ride, though things between them were awkward. But regardless of the awkwardness, she didn’t want to go alone this time on her journey through time, and sh hoped that Rachel would agree to come with.

I actually like the snow better. I have too many extremely cute sweaters, that my friends are so jealous of that they have always wanted to burn them, and the winter is never long enough to wear all of them.

Ah, so you’re Rachel, I’ve heard that I should keep my eye out for you and here you are. Have to say, not disappointed at all and adding the Mr gets you points. No, it’s not the best but hey, what can you do, evil assholes trying to kidnap and kill people come around everyday, they just don’t normally come after people with powers. 

I’m not big on the Broadway stuff, but I think I heard something about that and I think I’ve had to walk past flowers and candles where one of the theaters are on my way to work. Sound, huh? So you can break glass? And all that shit.

Hello Mr. Ashcroft, I’m Rachel Barbra Berry.  The circumtances that led to this are definitely not the best, but it’s nice to meet you and I’m super excited to have new people in our golden superhero squad.

As you have probably guessed by now, I’m the Broadway star media claim to be missing. Watching my fans feel the pain of having their idol kidnapped and possibly murdered was a taugh decision but you have to agree that the current circumtance asks for desperate measures. As for my ability, I can manipulate the sound.

So I’m guessing there’s quite a few of you here that are all gifted with some grand ol’ powers. And color me curious, I want to know what you can all do. I guess I can start off, James Ashcroft, twenty five and illusion manipulator.

I’m glad you’re able to take something good from it despite the fact that it must have been one of the worst experiences of your life. 

It could be less than that, you know we don’t talk often. Or at least you used to know... I’m quite worried about you, Quinn. I’ll text you our adress and arrange an appointment for you with one of the doctors we used to see in Division. The agency isn’t safe anymore but we kept our contacts. Just promise me you’ll take care and make sure no one is following you. Don’t trust anyone, don’t get in cars with people even if you know them and mostly importantly, don’t use your powers until you have seen the doctor, alright?

It definitely gave me an appreciation for the people I have in my life, even you, Berry. I had an appreciation for the dramatics - missed them even. I mean if you turned them on they’d still be a bit annoying and dramatic, but eh, almost cute. 

There were drugs in the water supply? I feel like I’ve lost some time, no pun intended there, or some something. I don’t know. In all actuality, I’m kind of starting to freak out a bit because…I don’t know what the last thing I should remember is. 

Four months…four months! I’ve been missing for four months! I’ll check with Santana to see what all I’ve missed, but four months…I just can’t believe that I’ve been stuck in the 60s for that long.

True, but we have been friends for what feels like my entire life and you have never bothered yourself to save me from listening to you cruelly murdering our language so my knowledge should be as extensive at this point. Plus, I have been living in New York long enough to have my vocabulary corrupted permanently. For example, I curse in my head all the time.

That’s exactly what I meant. We may find people with powers that won’t be useful, but if trained they could be good just like her. I agree that we should split, but before recruiting them we should define a selection criteria to sort them in the ‘yes’ and ‘no’ piles. 

Please, I won while drunk. You shoulda seen it coming, Berry. While you may have the most extensive vocabulary of anyone I’ve ever known, no one beats me in my knowledge of curse words. 

Brittany’s been trained for over seven years though, and could probably bench press both of us. With our luck half of these people will be teenagers with no knowledge of their abilities, or who’ve never even done any kind of intense exercise. We’re running out of time here, we can’t just train everybody we find.

The database is huge, we should split it between us.

Someone is kidnapping mutants and we have information that suggests it’s the same mutant who released the drug into the country’s water supply system months ago, do you remember this? 

And the last time we spoke was approximately four months ago, but you should ask Brittany or Santana. I believe they were the last people you spoke to before disappearing.

Yeah, I know you have a flare for the dramatics, and I find that flare almost cute actually. What…what’s happening? How long have I been out reach? For me it seems like just yesterday…

I’m terribly sorry for that, Quinn, and while I have never been in this kind of situation I can only imagine it was absolutely terrifying. But - and despite the fact that we both know I have a flair for the dramatic, you’ll soon enough discover I’m not exagerating at all- it would have been better if you had stayed in the 60s. Our world is just... a chaos right now.

I’m confused too, believe me. I was slowing time to make a break for it before anyone could get to me, and I was in not only in another place but another time. I don’t know how. I don’t know why, but I was not here anymore, and how I got back or what I did to do so? I have no clue. I’m happy to be back, the 60s weren’t my favorite era to be in.

Because I sure missed you. And then you’ll never guess where I was…stuck in the 60s. Imagine, not knowing how to travel back. Not even knowing that you’ve travelled in time, and not knowing how the hell it happened…To be honest, I don’t even know how I’m back! I just want to sleep for days on end.
