Golden Hour

1. Familiar Faces

✧ Pairing: Albedo x Gn reader

✧ cw: contains spoilers for act 1 of the windblume festival, a time skip

✧ summary: a couple months go and the trio comes to Mondstadt for the Windblume festival and they all see that you're doing well in your work with the knights.

Mondstadt was always so beautiful especially when they held special occasions. That was what led Collei there for her vacation, Lumine and Paimon were there as well. She got to meet a woman named Sucrose who was just as shy and awkward as her.

Yet, her two favorite people from Sumeru also came with her as well to keep her company although Cyno explains that he's simply looking out for her as Tighnari agrees with him.

The girls were similar in a way, both having teachers as Sucrose begins to speak about her teacher, calling him a genius and speaking of the devil, the alchemist appears behind Cyno and Tighnari.

"Please, Sucrose, 'genius' is unnecessary. It will only serve only to leave an exaggerated impression on me in the minds of our guests." Everyone turns around to find a blonde haired man in a coat, his arms crossed as he stood there.

Sucrose is startled at this, turning her head to the side as she stutters in her words. "...but it's an objective truth."

Lumine and Paimon smile upon seeing him, glad that the alchemist was here as well before Lumine glances around, looking for a specific someone.

Her face instantly lights up as she spots you appearing behind Albedo, a warm smile on your lips as a hand rests on your hip and side eying Albedo.

"I think Sucrose has a point, as your partner, I say you're a genius through and through."

Tighnari could only stare in silence, taking in your appearance as you stood there, grinning at the blonde who gives you a look.

Sucrose lights up as well, "everyone, this is Y/n, also an assistant for Mr. Albedo."

You smile at this, giving them a wave.

"As Sucrose says, I'm Y/n, it's nice to meet you three." You say as Cyno takes this opportunity to speak before Tighnari could say anything else.

"You know who—"

"I am 'Adventurer Cyno'," Tighnari lets out a groan as you listen to the man with an amused look in your eyes, " this is Tighnari, a technological consultant for the treasure hoarders and this is Collei, a traveling musician." Cyno explains all with a straight face as you try to keep your cool but a laugh escapes your lips before covering your face.

Cyno looks accomplished as he listens to your laughter as Albedo just looks at you with a smile while Tighnari rubs his forehead.

"....that's what I miss about Sumeru, you and your jokes." You say, sighing to catch your breath before walking by Tighnari towards Cyno before you hug him.

"It's been how long?" He returns the hug as he smiles, patting your back.

"Too long." He says before breaking the hug and you glance over to Collei. "It's nice to see you as well, Collei."

She smiles, "you too! It's been almost 5 months."

You chuckle before looking back at Sucrose, "thank you for the introduction, Sucrose. Albedo and I were just getting back from our stay at Dragonspine."

Albedo hums as you go back to him.

"I see, I thought you two would continue your experiments and come back next week. But I'm guessing you had to force Mr. Albedo to take a break."

You grin at her as Albedo sighs, "it seems like with Y/n around, I tend to have more breaks. But yes, we paused our project to enjoy ourselves with everyone else, right Y/n?"

"Yup! We haven't had a long break in a while so this is nice."

Tighnari narrows his eyes at you before looking away, crossing his arms and speaks to Sucrose about some of the flowers he wants to use for antidotes.

You half listened to their conversation while watching Albedo take out his clipboard, scribbling on it as you grin at him.

"... we're gonna cuddle when we get home right?" You whisper to him as he shakes his head, a smile planted on his lips as Tighnari's ear twitches at this.

"of course, we can do what you want." The blonde smiles as you grin at this before letting out a cough, paying attention back to the conversation at hand.

The conversation continues, with Tighnari, Sucrose and Albedo planning on doing some experiments.

"Bedo, I'm going to go talk to Jean for a moment." You say as soon as everyone agrees to set up some tents and have some meals together just outside the city gates.

He looks over at you and nods.

"of course, I'll save you a seat."

Smiling, you quickly went to leave when hearing Tighnari calling out your name which made you stop for a moment before continuing walking inside the city walls, the coat you wore swaying behind.

"...." Tighnari's lips go into a thin line at this before he looks away, his ear droops slightly as Cyno glances over at him but doesn't say anything, just narrowing his eyes at the fox.

"..."

Cyno feels like something happened between you and Tighnari so he'll try to figure it out.

I had another way to continue the Albedo series involving Tighnari but changed it in the end since the Dendro archon before Nahida is erased from history, it would also have consequences for the reader because their family worked specifically for her and without her, what purpose would the reader have? Maybe the course of history is changed where Tighnari and the reader never met and they first meet during the windblume festival, that means no more Cyno and reader bickering of jokes and etc.
