“ A-Aha…! ” While Pit was certainly excited about the idea of going to the beach with a friend - not something he’d ever really had the luxury of doing, actually - the delight in the farmgirl’s demeanor as he offered a response of approval really caught him off-guard, chuckling awkwardly and his cheeks reddening ever so slightly as she grasped at his hands, watching her giddy delight with a hint of bashfulness of his own. Not that he was ever one with a problem with enthusiasm, and not that he considered the excitement she had now a problem in any sense, but he hadn’t expected her to be so giddy about it - even his jovial self was caught by surprise.

“ U-Uh, right! I’ll wait right here! ” All the same… the thought of going with her did get him pretty eager, too! Even if he wouldn’t be particularly active in the way of swimming, he was sure the two would have a good time! She did say there’d be a picnic, and they’d be hanging out besides… It wasn’t often he got to enjoy such a casual event anyhow, so he was going to enjoy it!

Even if she seemed like she was just that bit more eager to see this through, but just by comparison.

— ✿         Even as the girl had run off to fetch her ever so loyal companion, she bounded like a child. Ever since she’d first considered the idea of a picnic at Lake Hylia, she’d yearned for the right time. Of course she never got the chance to see it as a place of relaxation till lately, which stunted her from even being able to go on good terms, but the idea of going with Pit seemed to ease those thoughts.

Lake Hylia held a lot of pain behind beautiful lapping waters, to the girl. But, she figured, if she could go back on good terms, she could heal from her past. A sweet sigh left the blonde, as she approached her stallion, adoringly hugging the horses neck, and pressing her squishy cheek against Epona’s own. She spoke to the creature as a child--

“ My sweet girl, ya wanna go fer a ride ?? Yer such a darlin’, ” Linkel cooed, backing away only to jump up ( with a bit struggle, in a dress ) on her back. Only after securing the goods within the picnic basket, Lin readily kicked Epona to greet her angelic friend. A toothy grin greeted the angelic hero as she approached, generously holding a hand out for him to grasp in case he needed help mounting the tall animal.

“ Are ya ready ?? Hop on, pumpkin !! ”

— ✿         Oddly, his agreement in joining her made her heart jump to a start, a cheesy grin suddenly plastered to the farmhand’s face. It wasn’t necessarily abnormal for Linkel to take a break after a long week’s worth of work-- especially seeing as her work load had doubled since becoming a hero of legend. It was, however, different to see her craving a break away from home. Normally her breaks consisted of falling asleep in the hay besides her goats. 

But this time was so different !! Linkel romanticized the idea of a picnic on Lake Hylia-- of course only after a handful of times of seeing various people reserve the pleasure to themselves on a soft afternoon day. How many times had she gone to Lake Hylia just to relax ?? The blonde couldn’t particularly think of an instant in which she wasn’t either fighting or crying there. 

“ Y-Ya mean it ?? Really ?! ” The heroine gasped, bouncing on her heels in the slightest. How exciting !! In a sudden motion, the tanned girl reached out, and grasped pit’s larger hands in her own. “ Of course I’m sure, Pit !! I can’t think of anyone else I’d wanna go with !! This is awesome !! ” The girls entire demeanor had changed, from a bit nervous to overexcited.

“ Stay right here, lemme fetch Epona !! ”

— ✿        The week had been a long, and grueling one. A mix of harsh manual labor and the tiring work of a hero had all but left the heroine desperate for a break. And had it not been for Link’s voluntary hard work, neither her nor Ordon would be in the condition it was now, which allowed her the option for a break on the hot summer afternoon. What better way to thank him, than to offer him to accompany her on a outing to Lake Hylia ??

Lin had sneaked away from the last of the work being done on the ranch, unbeknownst to the Hylian who had opted to spend his days beside her, helping her village operate on a daily basis. An hour was spent packing what she deemed a perfect picnic basket, along with deciding if she liked the way she looked in her newly created bathing suit, and on top of that, her dress. The look was rather unfamiliar to her, but a small giddy feeling of wearing a dress deemed it worth.

Her work had paid off. The pleasure of the creeping blush that made its way onto her beloved companion was more than enough to get her through another week of work-- But his acceptance to go with her ?? Make that a month.  An equally vibrant blush dusted the heroines face, her hands hiding shyly behind her back. Gently, she twisted her torso side to side, a staple look of bashfulness taking to the normally so courageous heroine. 

“ Y-Ya really will ?? I’m so glad !! I was hopin’ ya would say yes ... !! ” Seeing as she had put hard work into making the idea happen, she would’ve been a bit distraught had he not agreed. Lin blinked at his compliment, her face burning further into the color. 

“ I-I -- Thank ya ... !! ”

— ✿         The blonde, pleased with Robin’s answer, clapped her hands together, as to show her excitement in finally getting some time to relax-- and with a companion, at that !! And not one that nagged at her the whole time !! As much as she loved Midna, that was sorta true. 

“ Aw, yeah !! ” Lin squealed, “ I’m wayyyyy ahead of you !! Uli an’ I made me new clothes jus’ so I could swim without the Zora armor !! Of course now I ain’t able ta hold my breath underwater, but, like, I ain’t need ta !! Yer the best, Robin, let’s get Epona an’ go !! ”

— ✿         “ Hey !! ” A sweet chirp calls from pink lips as the heroine approaches, hand woven basket swaying in her grasp. Linkel’s apparel was oddly changed, from her usual tunic adorned with various weapons, to a makeshift dress that she and Uli lovingly created together to combat the immense heat of summer in Hyrule.

“ This is sorta silly, but ... ” Struck by a cord of shyness, the blonde glanced away from her target, raising the basket up to view. “ I made a sort of ... picnic basket. I was wonderin’ if ya wanted ta come with me ta Lake Hylia ta swim an’ eat with me ?? It’s jus’ so hot out, ya know ?? An’ I’m sure ya could use a break, so. ” Azure eyes glance back, meeting the others.

" Whaddya say ?? Wanna come with me ?? ”

               A shrill yelp could be heard, swiftly followed by the thunderous stomping of  HOOVES.  One of the infamous  ORDON GOATS  has broken free & the soldier was attempting to  hide  from the animal. Horses were one thing, but a goat almost the  size  of a horse with horns was a whole new matter entirely for the fear stricken Hylian. 

— ✿         There was nothing odder to the heroine than a day filled with silence-- of course, she didn’t mind this predicament in the slightest, as it had meant she’d been doing her job continuously well. No threats, no attacks, no kids screaming for help in the face of a bully. Things were at peace for the day. Or so she’d thought. 

Linkel rode steadily across Hyrule Field, her pace anything but rushed. After all, she wanted to enjoy the last of her time out before she reached the southern province of Ordon. That was, of course, before a frightened yelp could be heard in the near distance. Tipped ears twitched slightly at the interference, her mind not working for a second as she stared in the distance. What seemed to be a man, hiding desperately from ...  

“ Oh, fer the love of Hylia -- !! ” The farmhand turned heroine gasped, suddenly pressing her spurs into her lone companion, her entire demeanor changed into a stressed panic. That was one of the goats-- for the love of the GODDESSES, could they PLEASE stop leaving the gates open ?! 

Epona sprinted full speed ahead, seeming to already understand their destination-- of course, she’d worked with this every day. She saw a goat out of its place. Lin cursed under her breath shallowly, swiftly jumping off the mount of her horse as they approached the situation, allowing herself to intervene with the problem. 

“ Damn ya, of course it would be ya, Poppy !! ” The blonde scolded in her familiarity with the livestock, steadying herself before the massive creature. Hands out, feet pressed firmly, 3, 2 ,1... Got ‘em !! With one abrupt movement, the freckled girl twisted the creature by its horns, ultimately bringing the unit to the ground, knocking it off its intent to run. 

“ Bad girl, ” The small girl reprimanded, watching as the livestock took its stand, and turned back towards their home. She knew where she belonged. “ Go on, get !! Ya done this poor fella a damned near heart attack, probably, now go !! ” Of course Poppy didn’t understand, but that didn’t stop Lin from acting like she did. Oh, yeah. The poor fella. Heat rose to the girls cheeks in sheer embarrassment, as she turned to find any notion of the man who’d been there prior. 

“ Ah ‘scuse me, sir ?? I’m so, so sorry !! ”

Link could only follow the girl’s gaze. What are the stars..? It was a good question, but it never came across in the male’s mind. 

“The…stars? I’m not sure. What I do know, is that they fall from the sky. Here, I’ve got proof!” The blonde said, pulling out a star fragment he had pocketed during his journey.

— ✿         As it would seem, her desperate query had been answered in the exact opposite way in which she’d expected. Azure eyes quickly follow to the ever brightening glow emerging from his side, awestruck in the face of that of which she’d questioned. 

“ I -- ” The farmhand choked, sitting up in order to properly gaze at the fragment of light in his palm. Was that really a star , or rather even, a piece of one ?? The concept didn’t seem fathomable, and yet here they were. So, if this was, in prediction, a fragment, then ... How big were the stars really ??

“ This is incredible !! ” The farmhand turned hero squealed, awe-struck.

— ✿         “ It’s startin’ ta get so warm ... Hylia damned humidity ... Too hot fer workin’, may as well sleep -- ”

It was the something part of the Linkel’s reply that was the part to worry about. Not that he felt like informing her of that fact just yet, but he could be surprised. Maybe the horse wouldn’t react nervous around him. “I’ll probably just walk.” Or at least it would depend on the horse’s initial reaction at him.

There was a curious title to his head as she began to play a musical item of some kind. He didn’t have to even question to see what it was for. She had obviously taught the horse to come when it was playing an interesting little thing to note. Not something he was able to think about for long as the horse arrived and obviously trying to get the human away. “See I told you.”

With that he turned and made a gesture for the human and horse to follow. If the horse would calm down enough for that. “I’ll lead the way.” He figured if there was some distances maybe the horse wouldn’t react as badly as it currently was.

— ✿         Lin watched as the snowy haired boy walked ahead, hesitating in her thoughts for but a moment. She felt bad-- why would Epona act like that ... ?? She’d always loved people. Lin gave a pout, displeased with the behavior of her companion, but brushed it off as she mounted the much taller steed. It took some dedication getting up there, seeing as she was smaller. 

“ ‘M comin’ !! ” Linkel cheered, pressing her boots to notify Epona to walk. Lin caught up, looking down to her newfound friend with an excited, puppy like feature on her face. 

“ So !! ” The heroine begins, letting go of the reigns in order to clasp her gloved hands together. “ Ya like explorin’. I do too !! It’s been a while since I’ve been able ta explore on my own terms. It can be so fun findin’ stuff !! A few times I found a really weird creature that teleported me and it was really freaky and she had a son who was jus’a head an-- an-- I really hope we ain’t find one-- ”
