Forgot I haven’t posted about this guys! They use they/them pronouns and I’m debating between Onyx, Topaz, and “Ozzy” short for isosceles as names. I’m gonna do some modifications at some point, I just haven’t yet.

WAIT THESE ARE SO GORGEOUS WHAT IS GOING ON THE COLORS MATCH THE FUR PERFECTLY AND THE PAINT IS SO EVEN WHAT

just finished hand painting these eyelids for my current custom! i hate summer but i am obsessed with everything tropical so i guess im just building an army of tropical furbies now!!! aaaaaaa!

My 2005 furby no longer has skin, as I have decided it needed a softer coat! (the original was not working for me) I’ll decide names once that’s done bc I was asking friends and they said it was hard to name before it’s design was finished, sooooo updates later

Also the face plate for the new long furby has primer so expect an update for that soon as well!!!

My grandmother took me shopping and LOOK WHAT I FOUND!!!!!! I checked the tag and it’s actually an original!!!!! And I got it for only 40$!!!!! I’ll probably give him new fur but not length…

Hey furblr, soon I’m going to have the opportunity to make a new long furby, and I could use some help picking a design. I would have drawn eyelashes but I didn’t really know how so just imagine they have eyelashes. Also yes the face plate has three eyes

Also any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

MAKING A LONG FURBY CARRIER BACKPACK

The most universal problem we all share is the utter length of our furbies. Tho beautiful, gracious and completely other worldly, it is not very portable.

Furbies are meant to explore the world and cause chaos among simple mortals. Now we can help them with also having both hands free!

Perfect for festival season or simple everyday activities like going to court, your beloved friend can accompany you everywhere!

I started with creating pattern that uses my boy’s anatomy to its advantage. Arm holes hold onto him and it will fasten with two buckles.

The mock-up fits him perfectly!

Those are materials I used:

beautiful purple cotton fabric that complements Topson’s fur

thick polyester for lining

white felt for the layer in between

black strap + plastic thingy that I don’t know the name of to make adjustable backpack straps

buckles

Firstly I sewn cotton fabric with inner lining fabric and turned it right side out.

Felt goes inside and the thing is closed with stitch all around.

Then I drew the arm holes and sewn around them similar to how you make button holes.

Next goes the buckles.

Topson tried it on and it fits perfectly!

It’s time for backpack straps. I sewn two layers together, flipped it and stuffed it with poly stuffing.

Then I added the adjustable mechanism.

The straps go on the harness and it is done!

I’m so excited to share it with you all! This project was on my mind for so long and I finally managed to finish it. Stay tuned for second part where I will be decorating the carrier and of course for some new content with Topson terrorizing the civilians and attempting malicious acts.

my reblogs over the past few days have probably made it clear but i just felt like making a pinned post.

part of the appeal of furbies for me is that they aren't for everyone. as someone who feels weird and different and alone, furbies feel like a kindred spirit.

and as much as i personally am not a huge fan of the appearance of our new friend 2023 furby, i don't want to see furblr encourage hate towards the furbies and especially not towards those that love them! we can't all be weird and different in exactly the same way, i welcome any and all types of weird lil guy!

can we start something like clown husbandry except with furbies where there’s lore and stuff? if furblr approves of this pitch i have some species ideas:

-i imagine that furby itself is a species, with several breeds that i’ve included below:

-of course, there’s the regular non-longified furby species, furby “classic”, furby baby, furby buddies, mcdonald’s furbies, furby boom/2012, connect, furbling, etc. as well as the (painless and cruelty-free) genetically modified furbies, listed below:

-furby barbie, which were likely originated from  Plushiecouture and totally_furbulous on instagram, is a furby buddy with barbie appendages with may include arms, legs or more.

-

-then the long furbies, and the breeds of those (i’m finding it difficult to find the first people to come up with the ideas of the lf breeds other than the original. if anyone knows of the sources please let me know):

-long furby, the most common long furby breed. their general look is furbyfuzz’s first long furby (with color variations, of course).

-thursby, the second most populating breed within the furby species, applies to any long furby with one fur color/gradient/etc on their backs, and another 1 or 2 colors on their bellies and backs. created by strange aeons.

-furbipede, another common breed. the first image i can find of this breed was created by boots_with_the_furb.

-spirby, a breed that seems to be the byproduct of long furbies and furbipedes. they have 14 (?) spider-like legs. i’m having trouble finding the creator of these.

-wormby, created by fubbygunk. long, sleek, worm-like appearance with no other limbs or appendages.

-noodby, created by Buttered_Noodles, is a breed likely descending from thursby. their main differentiational feature compared to thursby are their hands of varying shapes, sizes, colors and amounts.

So I’m trying inktober this year, and I’m pretty nervous, since I’m not that good at art, but I’m hoping I’ll get better this month. Also I’m doing a serious one first (that being this one) but the rest are probably gonna be furbies or hexagons or spoons so yeah
